I'm not a fan because it comes across as just super vague. "Forms the basis" doesn't really say much of anything, and calling him The Protagonist of the six original movies is just misleading at best.
It's more fanon than anything else. "Star Wars is about Anakin's journey" is a fun Alternative Character Interpretation, but it's not really... accurate?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Firstly, Anakin Skywalker being overall series protagonist for the first 6 Star Wars movies belongs on the main page if it belongs anywhere and at best you can say he's the protagonist of the Prequels which is true. Darth Vader is absolutely not the protagonist of the OT, Luke is. In A New Hope he's not the Big Bad, Grand Moff Tarkin is. He's the Big Bad in The Empire Strikes Back but not in Return of the Jedi.
I don't want to cause a heated debate but someone keeps deleting my initial statement of Anakin being the character whose actions form the basis of Star Wars as a whole. Why does that keep getting deleted? He's The Protagonist of the six original movies and his legacy impacts the sequel trilogy. Of course, his actions form the basis of Star Wars.
