Actually, I think that rule, in context, is only saying that, in the least, you shouldn't be spoilering the trope name (the trope name being counted among the "entire text of the example"). More specifically, the page is saying that if you don't spoiler the trope's name on a works page, or a work's name on a trope page (or anything above the "Examples" line), you'll be automatically compliant with the fourth rule.

Regarding TV Tropes Spoiler Policy, one of the rules is "Under no circumstances cause the entire text of the example to be in white font, concealing the trope name. Think about it. If you have to highlight and read it ... just to see if you want to highlight and read it, there is no point to the spoiler font." This page has a lot of those.
Also, the top of the page says Unmarked Spoilers.
