As it stands I think the Vanaheimr page should be cut and its contents moved to the main page since it's ATM too small to be spun off from the main page as an independent entity.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. Hide / Show RepliesSpeaking of Vanaheimr, should we move Freyr and Freyja to the Vanaheimr category since they're not from Ljosalfheimr and Dokkalfheimr, but Vanaheimr? We did the same with Eir and her true home, Ymir, but I'm on the fence whether we should do this or not. A few reasons are as follows:
- The Ljosalfheimr/Dokkalfheimr pages mainly consist of Book 4 OCs, and while Freyr and Freyja are Vanir, they were introduced way before Vanaheimr, which was 3 books later.
- Freyr and Freyja are the rulers of their respective fairy realms, and believe or not, Freyr being the king of Ljosalfheimr was based on old Norse poems, where Freyr had a deep relationship with the elves of Alfheim. So removing him may seem odd.
Additionally, if we DO decide to put Freyr and Freyja in the Vanaheimr category, then we could perhaps give Vanaheimr enough space to put it into its own category, which would then justify having its own page separate from the main page. So what do you all think? Move Freyr and Freyja to the Vanaheimr category, or leave them as-is?
Edited by Falconpunch100Can you guys please stop reverting my edits to Thorr and Loki's images? I replaced the Thorr and Loki images for a reason (namely, to shrink the image width for the sake of consistency with the other original characters in the Heroes Character page and its sub-pages). The maximum size for each character is 350x420, and I want to keep that. Upscaling any character so their width is 350 while the length is much bigger (Thorr's base form image was nearly 500px!) just looks inconsistent and horrible.
Nobody had a problem when I shrunk down the other characters on this page to show their alts, so why are we having this problem now?
Hide / Show RepliesBut the old image is only 288, so now it looks horrible since the actual image crops the image in the way that it doesn't show War-God Mjörnir fully. It now just leaves Thórr have bunch of empty space that is honestly not needed.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! That's because her alt takes up nearly 350 width due to how big it is compared to her OG variant which had a lot of empty space to the right. And I was doing this for consistency and all that. It looked fine to me, so...
Who really cares about image length consistency? I've seen pages where the images are very different to one another, so I'd rather have images look good on their own rather than try to match other images.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! It looks perfectly fine to me though. But if you REALLY insist on having Mjolnir cut off when the borders do, why don't I reupload the OG Thorr so that it takes up the whole space instead of cropping off the empty horizontal space like I did with the other OCs? Alternatively, I could pull from this◊ image of her on the Heroes website that has the full version and doesn't cut off Mjolnir (though it also doesn't cut off her dress on the bottom either).
I definitely prefer something that doesn't try to fight against the crop.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!I added that image to the front page. Does it look alright to you now?
Can we possibly tone down on gameplay descriptions in character sheets? Helbindi's profile describes his refine in full four times, which honestly sort of clutters things.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! Are unique variations of characters from other series worth giving their own entries? Things like the various "what if" fallen versions of characters, or the Brave versions of the Three Houses house leaders who all come from after their respective routes' endings.
"I've had enough of parents who create children to use them as tools and then take offense when they finally resist!"Is Summer Laegjarn really the bustiest on her banner? Her and Gunnthra seem pretty equal.
Regarding the character page, do we want to do what Fate/Grand Order did and make pages for playable characters? It would be more difficult but pages could be done based on series and include alts as part of each character.
Just a mild thought, if not its no big deal.
Muramasa got. Hide / Show RepliesIt is something that would be a lot of work but I think it would help clean up some of the other pages.
Muramasa got.Well I can see that working but at that point we might as well make pages for the other characters as well.
Muramasa got. What happened to the Chick & Dude Magnet descriptions? At first, there were specific examples on which hero is involved but now it's just the summary.
Hide / Show RepliesI think there were so many specific examples that it just became easier to do a summary
Yeah, the list was getting quite long. Better to keep it general for the sake of brevity.
Do Alfonse, Anna, and Sharena really qualify for Magikarp Power? Even if you promote them up to five star rarity, they still are quite lacking compared to most units you could have promoted instead or summoned while you were working on getting the resources to promote them.
I have a question, in Xenologue, the rite of the Tempest is mentioned and it states that it 'tears into worlds'. Giving that Veronica wants to use this, doesn't this count for her as being an Omnicidal Maniac in the sense that she's threatening many worlds by using this 'rite'?
Hide / Show RepliesI would say no, considering that she doesn't seem to display any desire to destroy these worlds - just take their heroes for her own use.
Xander is a character with a distinct role in the story, and notable characterization beyond that taken from his source game. We absolutely should include every character that we can assign unique tropes to, and Xander fits the bill. We should do the same for any other Fire Emblem characters that get the same treatment.
Hide / Show RepliesI wholeheartedly agree, but you're kind of edit warring over it now.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?If you want Xander on the page than you would need to include any character who has any sort of role. That means each Chapter honestly. That would require a charactet page per game too so if you feel up to it than its fine.
Also I wanna point out that Xander is only in a few levels, so a character spot for him is pointless when he has only three tropes applicable to just this game wheres there are chapters with Recurring Boss scenarios. Xander's just unique for being Not Brainwashed.
Edited by keyblade333 Muramasa got.You say "you'd need to include everyone!" like it's some big burden, but that's exactly how the character page should work. I would love to include entries for every character with a role in the story, but right now it would be pointless because besides Xander none of them really have applicable tropes or unique characterization. The second they get some, we should add them.
Thats the problem though, Xander has a few unique tropes for his appearance yes but he's an already existing character that is being carried over. If they have no applicable tropes that is unique to only this game, then they aren't worth adding. Xander is the same Xander in characterization.
This page is for characters who are solely unique to Fire Emblem Heroes and if we add Xander but not the others than we have to include the others. Like how Chrom thinks were the bad guys, that seems tropable right? Besides currently Xander doesn't have enough impact on the story that is really unique, he's still the Anti-Villain with faith in people who are antagonists, which was his whole issue in Fates. I'm not trying to say he can't be added but if you argue he has a unique role based on only a few sections than all the other characters have to have a spot too.
That's all I'm trying to say, if we give Xander a character index than we need to do it for any character that is encountered in the story mode and has any significance.
Edited by keyblade333 Muramasa got.So add them, then. I don't see a point to adding characters that we don't have unique tropes for, because pretty much every other story character has the exact same role, but if you think they're needed for completion's sake go for it. But cutting a character who does have unique tropes just because you personally don't like the inconsistency and don't want to put in the effort to make entries for others others makes no sense.
Xander should be kept for the same reason Masked Marth should be kept. He plays a significant part of the history and the paralogues, and it's clear that he will keep appearing on the future, as Xander is investigating what is wrong with Veronica. I believe that if Bruno ever joins the group for good, Xander will be a big part of it. They both essentially are doing the same thing: investigate the curse on the Embliam Empire from within.
Edited by SJMistery Here it comes the Glitch Hunter of VVVVVV, a loyal Treasure Planet and Battlefront 2 player and "that stupid guy with the shiny subDDnite"Masked Marth not only plays a central role in the Tempest Trials, but "he" also appears at the end of Xenologue 2: The Brink of Chaos, suggesting "he's" tied to the main story. Even if "he's" confined to the Tempest Trials from now on, "he" still has unique tropes that can be assigned to "him" here separate from Awakening. Also, I think "he" and Xander should be in a section separate from the Heroes-original characters, though still on the same page.
Hide / Show RepliesI have no objections. How's an "Askr" section, an "Embla" section, an "other" section (just for Loki right now), and a "returning character" section sound? I was also thinking that we should probably cut the Bruno entry and just have the Mysterious Man, since it's a bit It Was His Sled at this point and those two tropes don't even appear to be true anymore.
I don't have any objections to adding "Marth". Maybe add Katarina too due to her role in the New Mystery Paralogue.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I don't think we need to be coy about "Marth" being Lucina. It's super obvious and we already have untagged Late Arrival Spoilers on the main page.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Alright. If more non-Heroes characters are added I suggest everyone's separated by section based on either their continent (Zenith, Archanea, Valentia, Elibe, etc. with Awakening and Fates being... well, "Awakening" and "Fates") or world (World of Zenith, World of Binding, World of Blazing, World of Conquest, etc.).
I've just broken it up into the current big factions. I didn't add Katarina, though, because I'm not familiar with her in her home game to write a bio and I can't think of any tropes for her.
The bio shouldn't be that hard. I've never played her game either, but I can probably whip something up.
For Katarina's tropes, I can think of The Mole, Becoming the Mask, and Because You Were Nice to Me.
Edited by Karxrida If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? Why does Katarina get an entry? Xander I get because of his attachment to Veronica, masked Lucina I get because of her role in the Tempest Trials and the second Xenologue. Katarina only shows up in her Paralogue and doesn't seem too important otherwise.
She has actually story relevance outside of a single line and undergoes a minor character arc.
We've also given character entries for less.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
Um, fellas. I want to add a folder in the Character page called "Summoned Heroes in General". The folder describes what Summoned Heroes do, what their in-game significance is and other related stuff like Magically Binding Contract.
I want to create that folder because Fire Emblem Engage's Character page has a "In General" descriptions about the Emblems and Fate/Grand Order's Character page also has a folder describing what Servants are in "Servants as a Whole".
