I noticed that Jasmine is said to have longest non-magically enhanced hair. Actually, Merida's hair is longer than Jasmine's (if straightened it would be as long as she is tall.) Shouldn't this be fixed?
would anyone mind if I added the girls ages to the record?
It's one thing to revert the Belle image, since that was a new one recently added, but why did you change an image I had just changed again? First, none of the Princesses have quotes, so I don't see why Tiana should. As for what picture it should be, if we can't come to an agreement, we can always return back to the original.
However, the original is not in line with the other pictures on the page, and the current is not like them either in aspect or in framing. She also only dresses like that in a very, very brief moment towards the ending.
Since the Disney Heroes page features *all* Disney male protagonists, should we include a seperate category on this page for all female Disney protagonists? It only seems fair that characters like Esmeralda, Megara etc. get their own entries like everybody else. Otherwise TV Tropes will appear like it's favoring men..
No. Disney Princess is a franchise. In fact, the Disney Heroes page should probably be cut, as it's not a real franchise, but that's not what we're talking about here. The only women included on this page are the women Disney has inducted into the line. Merida will join in July, and we'll add her then as we did Rapunzel.
Pocahontas is The Chief's Daughter, so technically she's not exactly a princess either. Shouldn't she be placed in the same category as Mulan?
I've always wondered why she wasn't there already. Thanks for moving her!
Will Merida be joining the line? I heard something in a interview with the Brave people about Pixar giving Disney a free princess but I don't know if that means anything.
There's lots of buzz going around about Merida joining the Princess franchise, but so far, nope, Disney is not including her.
Why did Rapunzel disappear from this list?
Because she has not been added to the line-up. I don't know why, but they haven't officially added her, despite her appearing in some of the merchandise when they were doing a marketing blitz of her movie. Maybe they will soon, but until then, she unfortunately doesn't belong on the page.
They've announced when they're adding her to the line-up. Can we add her back now?
You beat me to the punch. Go ahead.
Added her back to the character listing, and adjusted the intro paragraph on the main page accourdingly.
Should we add Rapunzel yet, or wait till after the film is released.
Wait till the film's release. It'll bring too many spoilers.
As someone who is an advocate for considering the Disney TV Animation series part of the Disney Animated Canon, I do not find it fair that Disney does not consider Princess Calla an official Disney Princess. She was a Princess who starred in a TV series created by the Disney company, so I think she should be considered as such. Just because Disney has this conceit that they shouldn't market long-ended TV shows doesn't mean we should not include Calla on the character sheet.
Yes it does. This is about the official Disney Princess line. You don't get to write down who the canonical Princesses are.
Technically, Eilonwy and Kida are both actual princesses. They weren't popular enough to warrant inclusion, however.
