Caution: I'm going to discuss spoilers from the book, specifically concerning one character.
Should we really give Low Key a Meaningful Name? I mean, it's cool if people who haven't read the novel get there by themselves, and it's obviously not even the most important twist about the character, but it feels a little like purposefully spoiling something for non-readers.
Edited by hollygoolightly Hide / Show RepliesI think we shouldn't. The twist hasn't happened in the show yet anyway so it just feels like spoiling things for the sake of it.
Well, I'm fine with removing or rewriting it, but I think the troper who originally added it was just guessing based on having heard the name on the show, not necessarily based on knowledge from the book. in fairness it's much harder to preserve that particular twist when you're hearing the name spoken aloud.
Regardless of whether that original troper knew for sure or not, the current writeup is clearly solely and explicitly a book spoiler. Cutting.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I think Shadow calls him by his name at some point, but I would have to watch again to make sure. He is definitely named in the end credits, though.
Should we split the Jesus folder to the different Jesuses we know? We've got Mexican Jesus, Jesus prime (the Jesus Shadow spoke to, that's how he's credited), baby Jesus, creationist Jesus (The one with the baby dinosaur), Orthodox Jesus (with holes in hands)....
Hide / Show RepliesI think we should wait and see if he makes more appearances in season 2. Most tropes apply to all Jesuses anyway.
We have four entries on The Technical Boy that says the same thing...
Hide / Show RepliesDo you mean the ones referring to changes from his book counterpart? They do all make sense so maybe they should just be edited so none of them repeat information.
Open question: if the Main Characters section is just based on top billing, shouldn't Mr World technically be listed under Main Characters as well? And at this point, it seems like Media might have actually had more screentime than Technical Boy, though maybe that'll change in the future. Maybe some other way of dividing up the categories? eg.:
- The Moon Family (Shadow, Laura)
- Old Gods (Mr. Wednesday, Bilquis, Mad Sweeney, Mr Nancy, Jacquel and Ibis, The Zoryas, Czernobog, The Jinn)
- New Gods (Mr. World, Media, The Technical Boy)
- Other Mortals (Low Key Lyesmith, Audrey, Robbie, Salim)
Thoughts?
Edited by Unsung Hide / Show Replies"Main Characters" is kind of subjective, though I suspect we may need to shuffle some characters around given time.
Something to rethink after the season one finale this week, perhaps?
This has come up before (see my post below), but given that I just had to take out another one of these, I'd like to bring it up again: Could we not spoil parts of the book and characters that haven't even appeared yet?
Book Spoiler: I just removed a passage about Hintzelman from Vulcan's entry that was put in there as a mythology gag and basically spoiled his whole plot - and there is no way this won't appear in the series if they get that many seasons. What the hell, seriously.
