Okay, so numerous pages on Digimon Adventure Tri. stated about Wham Shot in Loss as evil Gennai apparently killing Meiko by choking her to death to provoke Meicoomon. The question is that is Meiko really dead? Or just passed out? It's not confirmed yet, and there's no sound of her neck snapping if Gennai does broke her neck. Her body just went limb so she might've been just passed out. Moreover, the poster for the fifth movie shows Meiko on the cover, so I think Meiko's fate is still up in the air and shouldn't be labeled as Killed Off for Real yet.
Edited by Willy2537So as with the other movies, we seem to have focused on two of the Digidestined, but this time, it looks like Himekawa and Sora are the two focused on. I'm pretty sure one is The Cynic while the other is The Optimist, but I can't tell which one is which. I want to say that Himekawa is the optimist, being the one who hopes that her partner would be waiting for her to return to her arms, but she is also the one who gets her heart stomped on. Also, is Sora that cynical, since she keeps trying to reach out to Biyomon? It's just so murky for me.
So has the ending of Digimon Adventure 02 been retconned, or what?
Hide / Show RepliesWe still don't know what's going on with the continuity, even with the fourth movie released. Time will tell if they plan to go to the same end or not. Especially as with the reboot, the 02 kids might be Killed Off for Real.
Does the long list of tropes needs to be organized into folders?
Sometimes I think that everyone on this planet is connected together by countless cords...So any care to change the picture to the one with the bus?
Since it has the kids and the digimon, I think it might fit better?
Hide / Show RepliesDidn't notice the new poster until now, it looks good.
I agree it's better and others probably will feel the same way too because of the Digimon (and also because the art is less awkward/off) so feel free to change it. Or I can if you don't want to.
[edit] Nevermind I've changed it now.

It seems like the dub team employed a different method this time around, combining some of the conventions used for the dub of the first two seasons of the American dub Digimon anime with music and terminology from the original Japanese version. The result is more like the Filipino dub of Digimon Adventure than first two seasons of Digimon: Digital Monsters.
I was going to list this as a trope, but wasn't sure we had one for it.
