I\'m not sure this is right. In both book and series Gilt is very keen on the company making a profit in the short term (after all he plans to steal it!), he just isn\'t interested in doing it by providing a decent service, preferring to just kill the competition so nobody has any choice. He intends to skim off the top all the way to the bottom \'\'before\'\' it collapses and doesn\'t care what happens after that.
