Suppose a character is in a situation where they are very close to dying, cannot escape on their own (due to being too incapacitated), and the only person within proximity to save them is...preoccupied. And there is no plausible means by which to direct their attention. Then [[AuthorAvatar]] [[FromBeyondTheFourthWall literally]] \'\'throws something\'\' at them to get their attention so that character saves the dying one. And to really [[RefugeInAudacity hammer it in]], the author [[LampshadeHanging outright calls it]] a DeusExMachina. Would it be this trope?
