The only thing that Gaby and Trish take exception to is Zack\\\'s \\\"delinquent friends.\\\" Zack hangs out with the other bullies while at school, and he\\\'s seen hanging out with Mud, Trish, and Gaby \\\'\\\'after\\\'\\\' school. It\\\'s implied he only hangs with the wrong crowd so he can openly rebel against his father.
It\\\'s also worth noting that the four leads (again, Mud, Trish, Gaby, and \\\'\\\'\\\'Zack\\\'\\\'\\\') all go through some character development throughout the length of the movie. Walter really doesn\\\'t get any, as the final scene with Betty shows us.
