In terms of Ichigo's entry, I'm not sure all those examples are actually this trope. Bankai, sure, and the Final Getsuga maybe (if all-or-nothing, SuperPowerMeltdown attacks count), but the rest?

His training as a Visored wasn\'t to unlock anything, but the exact opposite; to LOCK the potential we\'d already seen the previous season, that which was breaking loose in a way nobody would\'ve liked. His \"Vasto Lorde\" appearance was that lock failing completely.
His Fullbring and the Reiatsu Sword didn\'t actually unlock anything new, but instead helped him regain what he\'d lost. I don\'t really think rehabilitation counts as this trope.
