Reason: fixed formatting issues

By rva 98014 on 07/13/18 07:36 PM
Reason: Technically the trope requires the idiotic character to die due to their stupidity, so it is subverted by the Giant.

By rva 98014 on 07/13/18 07:33 PM
Reason: Technically, because it has a fixed scene that shifts forward in time, it's a Time Passage Montage

By rva 98014 on 07/13/18 07:29 PM
Reason: mis-use: this trope is about the hero pulling off an impossible shot then they admit it wasn't what they were aiming for. This scene is actually Throwing The Distraction with messier consequences than intended.

By concolor on 07/13/18 07:27 PM
Reason: "Procyon" is the name of a genus, so it should always be capitalized and either italicized or underlined.

Reason: Alphabetizing!

By rva 98014 on 07/13/18 07:13 PM
Reason: mis-use: This trope presumes that the story is being told in a universe where everyone has a natural inclination toward goodness. In such story, tropes like Hate Sink, Evil Redhead, or Big Bad don't apply because everyone is essentially a Well Intentioned Extremist. This story doesn't appear to play in that kind of universe as it paints certain characters in rather broad strokes like General Rogard as the Reasonable Authority Figure and Mansley as the Hate Sink when he intentionally threatens to take Hogarth from his mother to force him to reveal the Giant's location.

Reason: how to write an example: Do Not Pothole the Trope Name

By costanton 11 on 07/13/18 07:12 PM
Reason: not a trope

Reason: zero context

By Spark Plug The Troper on 07/13/18 07:08 PM

By manbemel on 07/13/18 06:54 PM
Reason: To avoid duplications, tropes relating to general and specific character traits must go to the character section, and leave here the ones related with storyline, character actions, etc.

By manbemel on 07/13/18 06:54 PM
Reason: Moving to the other section tropes not related with character traits, and bringing here from there non duplicated tropes that belong here

By Wyldchyld on 07/13/18 06:52 PM
Reason: That's speculating about Yang's motive for scanning the room. It could have been for a number of reasons. However, there is a nod going on so I've rewritten the example.

By God Sammit on 07/13/18 06:49 PM
Reason: New example

By Wyldchyld on 07/13/18 06:45 PM
Reason: Comment out tags signify an entry is a Zero Context Example for the trope it's claiming is being used. They shouldn't be removed without adding context to the example. Removed gratuitous emphasis.

Reason: Brought Down To Normal is when a magical character lost his power which does not imply in this case.

By Generality on 07/13/18 06:41 PM
Reason: Zito said in a fanart stream that his calling them tibbits was an error.

By Blueeyedrat on 07/13/18 06:38 PM

By Shine Sutella on 07/13/18 06:38 PM
Reason: Love At First Sight is not confirmed yet. We don't know how their first meeting even went yet

By Wyldchyld on 07/13/18 06:38 PM
Reason: Jerkass Has A Point is an in-universe trope that requires characters to acknowledge his point is right. That doesn't happen in Jacques' case. I've re-written the pilot's example to fit the trope.

By Zaptech on 07/13/18 06:37 PM
Reason: We don't know what the name of their homeland is; while the game is set in an alternate timeline where things diverged from ours, we don't know that the Wu Lin's homeland is still called "China" or if it is something else.

By rva 98014 on 07/13/18 06:35 PM
Reason: Rogard is never presented as General Ripper.

Reason: This pride was explained within the movie as being made up of lions who were loyal to Scar

By rva 98014 on 07/13/18 06:21 PM
Reason: adjusted wording to punch up the heartbreak in this scene. The Giant had only one conclusion possible from his limited experience.

By CJ Croen 1393 on 07/13/18 06:21 PM
Reason: Okay, now I have confirmation.

By rva 98014 on 07/13/18 06:17 PM

Reason: Casting Gag is no longer Trivia

By Venus Fly Trap on 07/13/18 06:10 PM
Reason: Those examples for Teasing Creator don't fit. The Picto Chat stage was included in Brawl just to be a stage, not to joke with fans who wanted Smash on DS. The Kid Icarus Uprising menu originated in Kirby Air Ride and is simply Sakurai's UI signature. Those are merely references to his other work.

By nombretomado on 07/13/18 06:06 PM
Reason: Needs to have enough context on its own.

Reason: Specified the power-up, removed Natter.

By Saveelich on 07/13/18 05:46 PM
Reason: There has been a reshuffling at Warner Bros in the meantime. This is pretty much akin to the MCU Captain Marvel movie being postponned over and over, and I don't recall the latter being targeted by any snark bait comment.

By partner 555 on 07/13/18 05:45 PM
Reason: Moving examples to Unrelated In The Adaptation.
