resolved Animation documentary Western Animation
There's this animated documentary I saw once-I think it was on Sundance-about the history of animation. The three princible characters I recall are a surfer dude, an older man, and a turtle with a Russian accent. Part way through, the surfer dude makes a female mannequin, starts falling in love with her, and tries to pull a pygmalion and bring her to life with the power of animation or something.
resolved 8-bit style 3DS game [Solved!] Videogame
Here's what I remember about a game I really liked and would like to play again. The whole game was in 8-bit style, like a NES game. It actually started with a little segment where you'd put the cart in, and then you'd simulate blowing into it to fix it. There were a few different types of heroes to choose from, like an old man knight, a stereotypical fighter character, a scantily clad "amazon" class I think?, a mage, etc. The writing in the game was very tongue-in-cheek with the medieval RPG setting. The gameplay was top-down style, and you'd roam around the map to defeat monsters and defend the princess in a castle.
Edited by HolyHeadcrabresolved No Title Literature
I'm looking for a short story my mom read when she was in middle school, which was in the early 1970s. It is set in a future world where the sun shines only one day a year and a little girl is locked in a closet by her classmates that day. She could recall that much about the plot but could not recall the title.
resolved Background (solved) Music
Does anyone know the name of the background music in this video? Edit mevermind I found it. It’s called Seemingly Simple.
Edited by Gamergirl101resolved Kids attending an school for Ninjas. Western Animation
All I remember is that the premise of the show was about a bunch of kids that attended an school for Ninjas and that it should have aired in Latin Spanish around 1995-1999. And no, it was not Naruto.
Update: Found! It was Shuriken School!.
Edited by megagutsmanresolved Anime about fairies. Anime
What I remember of this one is that it was an anime about this small chibi fairies that helped human kids on their problems (it was not FOP). The male fairy had what looked like a blue pajama and his hat looked like Kirby's Bomb hat in the old games and the female fairy had pink hair.
Update: Solved as well. Answer was Mirumo de Pon.
Edited by megagutsmanresolved (Solved) You Know That Episode... Western Animation
This is exactly what it says on the title. On SpongeBob SquarePants, what was the name of the episode where Sponge Bob is forced to move to Mr. Krabs home at the end to sleep because he was kick out of his home (?). Because I remember when Sponge Bob move to mr. Krabs, mr Krabs allow him to sleep on the couch or something.
Edited by Bubblepigresolved Chocolate Broccoli Tycoon game (SOLVED) Videogame
So this would be around 2006-2009, I remember this restaurant-management/tycoon game where you would buy and upgrade these like candy stands? The final tier was a machine that dipped broccoli in chocolate for each customer, but that's the only specific one i remember. It was also Isometric top-down, though most of these type of games are. I believe it was either hosted by disney or it was from a disney affiliate because it was linked from the disney games site. It also featured a pair of hosts that walked you thru the tutorial, and a light educational theme. I can't remember if there were multiple stages, but i do rememeber a cityscape map.
- EDIT* It's called Hot Shots Business. I found it on the Wayback Machine, but the version with the candy factory that i remember is lost media unfortunately
resolved Pogo Climbing Block Puzzle Game (SOLVED) Videogame
I remember this old game on the website Pogo, where you would take control of 1 of 5 (6?) ninjas (I think); a red ninja, green, pink, blue, black, and MAYBE yellow. All of them had the same goal- climb a mountain. How do they do that? By stacking blocks of course!
The game played somewhat like Not Tetris; the shaped blocks were to be stacked and balanced to a dotted line acting as a checkpoint, where if the blocks stay above the line for about 3 seconds or more without (or while) toppling over, then all blocks turned into solid gold and you got to move on. Each ninja had a special ability to help stack the blocks- I specifically remember the green ninja was able to wrap a group of blocks in vines, keeping them in place.
It's probably been gone from the website for a long time, but it's been bugging me that I can't remember what this was called.
UPDATE: I FINALLY FOUND IT ON THE WAYBACK MACHINE! It was called Puck's Peak!
Edited by SleepyFoxresolved (Solved) Pico 8 game about fighting a magic mask Videogame
note Interesting how I first made my account to post queries here. It's nice to be back on this side of the site I suppose
So this may be a simpler one, one that I could solve myself if I stumble on it again. There was this one Pico 8
game I found on coolmathgames.com
that centred around a boss fight against what I think was a floating mask with Floating Limbs, maybe just gloved hands. It summons a magic wand in one hand and there you are, a little guy on a board right in front of the mask, dodging attacks that it magically summons on you.
Such tricks include falling coins, sprouting roses, flying cards - all of which are related with magic tricks. It gets progressively trickier as time goes on, and there are different difficulties one can select from. I can't recall the name; putting "pico", "magic", "wizard" or "mask" into the coolmathgames search bar doesn't help, but I could possibly bump into it again with the help of the random button, or looking for a list of Pico 8 games specifically?
Edited by BlackFaithStarresolved (solved) Boy who makes object-like sounds Western Animation
Another query all too soon. I just got a memory about this animated TV program, and the key thing I remember about it is the main character having a very unusual voice. A boy who produced sounds out of his mouth that never sounded human - but instead sounds alike to objects. The only sketch/shot I remember in particular was his visit to the doctor for a check-up, which may have ended with the doctor dancing from what he heard on his stethoscope on the kid's heart which sounded like music or a bassline. A more solid memory I have is someone (maybe a teacher) pointing a picture of a rocket on a board, trying to get the boy to identify it, though he produced accurate rocket sounds instead.
Had a scan through the Western Animation page for Vocal Dissonance but I either missed it or it's not there, but I'm certain that I've seen this before.
Edited by BlackFaithStarresolved Artsy Science-Fantasy Webcomic (solved) Webcomic
I'm trying desperately to find a webcomic I know that I read. It was published ~2016, and it was finished/had a conclusion in the same year I think.
The story followed 3 robots (I think? At least one was a robot); the main character was a humanoid robot(?) who almost never talked and might have had amnesia. They were accompanied by a blue, spherical robot and another robot(?) that disliked/distrusted them.
The main character was on a quest to seal away an ancient, evil force; they might have had a special sword?
The blue robot was treated very badly by its creators, but was optimistic and cheerful; all of its creators and their society may have been destroyed by the time the comic took place.
The group traveled through weird vistas of an abandoned world. At the end, the main character successfully sealed away the evil force, seeming to die in the process, but woke up somewhere different? It was somewhat ambiguous what had happened.
The art style was distinct and clean, and used a lot of pastel colors. I thought the title was "Ouroboros" or similar, but google has turned up nothing.
Edited by Orbitingresolved Fake "Wrong Name Outburst" in webcomic Webcomic
There was this scene with Alice and Bob in bed together. At some point, Carol (probably Bob's ex, but I'm not sure of that) walks in on them, leading Bob to say "Carol?" in confusion.
Unfortunately, Alice somehow notices neither the lighting change from opening the door nor Bob's obvious shift in tone, nor the noise of the door opening and closing; she mistakes it from a Wrong-Name Outburst, and kicks Bob out of the bed / breaks up with him.
I was particularly stung by how contrived it was (both from Bob only saying Carol's name and not, say, "Close the door!" or "Out!" or anything else, and from Alice's obliviousness) but don't remember the comic itself.
Edit: Found it thanks to ~Ngamer11, that was in Juvenile Diversion:
- Wrong-Name Outburst: Kyle blurts out Meg's name
while having sex with Jenny because he catches her peeking on them. Unfortunately, Jenny doesn't see Meg and gets angry at Kyle for doing this.
resolved Late 90s Fractured Fairy Tales show Western Animation
I'm trying to find the name of a cartoon from the late 90s (around 1997-2000) that had a Fractured Fairy Tale theme. Here in Australia, it aired as single 5-10 minute episodes with no framing, similarly to how the Canadian urban legends anthology cartoon series "Freaky Stories" was aired, so it may have been related? I can't remember the name, but I most remember it for its really dark episode parodying Jack and the Beanstalk, in which Jack climbs up a magical beanstalk to rob a magical mega-millionaire repeatedly, only to be foiled each time by his poor-but-honest mom, culminating in the millionaire climbing down and cutting them a check if Jack will stay out of his house, only for the episode to end with them no better off than they were and the narrator concluding something along the lines of "principals are a poor excuse for money when you're starving". Does this ring any bells to any tropers out there?
Edited by WanderingBrowserresolved Does anyone know this Beauty and the Beast version? Western Animation
I'm trying to find a specific Animated Adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. I remember that it used the pre-Disney outline of the story - merchant father, three daughters, Beauty being visited by a human prince in her dreams, sickly father, jealous sisters, etc. What I most remember are two specific scenes. The first is when the father dares to pluck a rose from the Beast's garden, whereupon the Beast springs out and screams about how he gave the merchant food and shelter, only for the merchant to steal from him. The second is a dinner sequence between Beauty and the Beast, where Beauty asks the Beast what he does all day, and he shamefully confesses "I hunt. I prowl the woods for prey. I am an animal after all, I must kill for my meat (close up of his taloned paw). Unlike you, I can never eat gracefully." Then he leaves, clearly ashamed, whilst Beauty quietly notes "how sad".
So, can anyone tell me which version of the story I may be thinking of? I remember it had limited animation, but very beautiful, storybook-esque art.
resolved Looking for an animated movie about a dog Western Animation
I don't remember the title, but this animated movie aired on Australian television in the 1980s. It revolved around a dog on an American Western farm and was largely narrated by the dog's thoughts, although the animals actively talked to each other. The only scenes I really recall clearly are one where the protagonist dog tries to go after a "monster" at a younger dog's behest that just turns out to be one of the farm's steers (getting him into trouble with the farmer), and another where our protagonist is lured out into the wilderness by a female coyote, who introduces him to her pack who offer to take him in. Does this ring a bell to anyone?
resolved a specific episode of Dave the Barbarian Western Animation
Hi, I'm looking for a specific episode of the show Dave the Barbarian. I remember watching it as a kid and the episode ending with the talking sword character saying something along the lines of "remember kids, don't chew on tin foil!"
Does anyone know what particular episode this was? Thanks!
resolved Classical(?) piece in a meme video, sounds like "Dance of the Knights" Music
What is the name of the music in this meme video
? I'm pretty sure it's a classical piece. It sounds a bit like a C Minor version of Prokofiev's "Dance of the Knights," but the melody is clearly different.
resolved Movie about a tibetan dog
They were anthros and i think herding sheep was the societal norm. A pup went against this by wanting to be a musician, and got to perform at the end.
They actually lived in Tibet or something, and i think they were tibetan mastiffs.

There is a book where a small village is like a reenactment of pre-industrial times, and all the children really believe it is pre-industrial times because of the adults. People are allowed to come and look at them through 2-way mirrors and stuff. One day people in the village get sick, so a woman sends her daughter out of the village throgh a secret tunnel hidden under a rock. I remember the girl being warned by a farmer not to drink from a river because of chemicals in the water, a man getting her and telling her how a car works, the same man trying to drug her because he works for the village, but she avoids it because she's paranoid about the farmers warning, her passing out after getting away from the man, and her waking up and being told her village would be fine because after she left, one of the adults went nuts and held a bunch of people hostage, which forced them to shut down.
