resolved Roguelike Swordfighting Game Videogame
While watching one of GMTK's videos, I remember him showing a video game featuring a woman who had to fight monsters. Every time the player died, a rot that originated on her arm would grow. If it reaches her brain, it is truly game over. Any clues?
resolved Computer game with a haunted hedge maze Videogame
I played this at school in the early 2000s. It was a first-person PC game where you had to navigate a spooky hedge maze.
It took place at night. I think the objective was to reach a haunted house or castle in the distance. It might have been the first level of a longer game. The graphics were 3D, probably now very dated. Think PS 1 style.
It could have been an educational game. I vaguely remember wrought iron gates and cartoony ghost enemies.
Edited by vulpeculaeresolved an action video game with stick figures as the characters? Videogame
I remember seeing the gameplay footage of this one video game a while back on youtube and the name of the game escapes me. From what I recall, there is no spoken dialogue, and the main character (the one controlled by the player) is a stick figure that seemed to have a ponytail of sorts? The stick figure has to fight boss enemies that look like constellations, an outline of their true forms can be briefly seen whenever the stick figure's attacks landed on them. When each boss is defeated it seems to leave behind a gem or something bright. Once the stick figure defeats the final boss the entire game seemed to start all over again. The bgm selection was amazing too. I think the fighting style of the stick figure was kind of like martial arts? Each kick and punch was accentuated with a loud "thwack" sound effect. I know its not much to go off of, but does anyone know what this game could be?
Edited by StrayShardresolved Flash Game About Firing Hedgehogs(?) to the Moon Videogame
When I was about 10, I used to play a Flash game involving firing small creatures (I think they were hedgehogs) out of a cannon in order to reach the moon. On your first shot, the game warns you that your "first few shots are always terrible" and encourages you to upgrade your equipment for better results. The ending cutscene when you eventually get to the moon is pretty atmospheric, with more downtempo music compared to the rest of the game.
resolved PBS Kids game about a guy trapped in a factory full of food Videogame
there was this educational game on the PBS Kids website about some dude (who might have been an anthropomorphic animal) trapped in a factory that was going to explode. he was hold a fork and knife in each hand. there were 3 different factories, and each one was filled with either grapes, peas, or sprinkles, though i'm not sure if they were 3 seperate games or just different modes.
once you started the game he would say "I don't have time to eat all these grapes!" or something like that. you had to solve problems (possibly math problems) to get him out of the factory before it exploded.
the grapes/peas/sprinkles were realistic, like they had been taken from a real photo. unfortunately i don't remember what the rest of the game looked like. i probably played the game around 2012-2014.
resolved Pregnancy game Videogame
I remember a game or something where you play as a pregnant girl with a deadbeat boyfriend. One night she goes to the store for milk or something even though there's a serial killer on the loose known for killing pregnant women. I think I remember at the end there's a twist that the killer is a woman who lost her baby or something.
resolved You play as a blue rabbit humanoid on a vacation cruise visiting islands for season-based artifacts. Videogame
I vaguely recall playing a Flash game (probably) where you play as a blue humanoid with a Y-shaped head, imagine bunny ears except they're rounded 3D oblongs instead. This fellow has a red-colored lookalike who was likely his companion. The opening cutscene was them on a boat or cruise ship on their way to an island vacation.
To describe the game layout: it's a 3rd-person camera that follows the player character at one peripheral. Like a Mario Kart game, except the camera doesn't turn when you turn. As a result, some objects and buildings may suddenly appear right in front of the camera when you approach them from behind.
Now about the game itself:
- All the characters were probably Funny Animals or likewise beings, and they're all Speaking Simlish so the speech bubbles only consist of symbols and relevant items.
- I forget if the objective of the game is to find treasure or to stop some sort of seasonal imbalance between the islands. I lean towards the latter since you gradually obtain four(?) artifacts that each have a season or weather related symbol on it across islands that each face different weather, and the story concludes by using them all on the snowy island. And yet, I vaguely recall digging something up.
- The island you first arrive at has a hotel, and a circular artifact with a sun on it can be seen in a room inside (I forget how to obtain it). I forget how (one of them is by a rowboat), but you then figure out how to travel to other islands.
- One of them has perpetually rainy weather and is the home to a group of natives who live in tents (some like the rain, some don't). An artifact with a rainy/thunder cloud (probably) can be found in one of the tents.
- Another island has immensely sunny weather that it's a bit hard to see where you're going.
- There's an underground staircase that leads to a snowy island. I believe it's here that the artifacts can be used to conclude the game. Then all the extreme weather ends and the cruise ship reappears to pick up the protagonist.
- I think there was an island with stormy weather where you could dig something up after putting a stop to the storm.
- I forget which island it was (probably the hotel island but I may be wrong), but there was a contest held by the tourists. It was either to bring them the biggest shell or take a picture of one, and I think the biggest shell is on the snowy island.
That's as much as I recall. I forget what the red guy was doing, besides probably enjoying the vacation casually. I'd appreciate any help to recall what this game was called.
Edited by BlackFaithStarresolved An Edutainment Game about asthma Videogame
I remember that I played an Edutainment Game that was designed to teach children about asthma close to 20 years ago. I don't know why we even had it since nobody I knew at the time had asthma. The plot of the game is that a supervillain named Mucus Airgone is using a machine to release huge amounts of asthma and allergy triggers into the atmosphere apparently just For the Evulz and you have to defeat his minions in order to find the pieces of the code to stop his machine. Each of the minions are anthropomorphic asthma and allergy triggers such as mold, cigarette smoke, car exhaust (that one was also a basketball player for some reason), and cat dander. To defeat each of them you have to correctly answer questions asthma and living with asthma and once you take the code from them Mucus shows up and kills or otherwise punishes them for failing. After finding all the code pieces you have to fight your way through into Mucus's lair and enter the code to stop his machine before it goes off and ruins the atmosphere (although the countdown to stop it never reaches 0 so it's impossible to actually fail this part). Entering the code causes the machine to work in reverse and clean up the atmosphere and suck up Mucus himself too. In the end credits we see that all the villains are still alive and we learn what they all did afterwards. I think the title was something like Asthma: Quest for the Code but I want to be sure. I remembered this game when I was looking at the Alphabet Soup Cans trope page and I think it is a very good example of that trope.
Edited by legendaryweredragonresolved Game I saw on youtube Videogame
Hi, I need help remembering the name of a game I once saw a playthrough of on youtube. You play as radio host in a town that has a serial killer running around. You get calls from citizens, and you need to prevent them from being murdered by the killer. I'd like to watch that video again, so please remind me of the name.
resolved Staff-wielding adventure flash game Videogame
FOUND! It was Wink the game, not Winx the game!
This was a flash game in the early 2000's that I cannot remember the name of. It was an adventure game, where you play as a generic bald humanoid, and you're exploring a castle (?). I'm going to try and list out everything I remember; please let me know if you have any idea what it could be.
- A vague title comes to mind, but I'm not sure if it's correct or even related to the game: Blinx, or maybe Winx. It has nothing to do with the Blinx the Time Sweeper or Winx Club, and a few searches for "Blinx flash game -time", etc. didn't turn up anything.
- I probably played it on Addicting Games or Newgrounds, but I couldn't find it on either site. (They might be there still, I just don't know what to look for.)
- There are enemies wielding staves - I remember that there's three kinds of staves, one that shoots fireballs and one that has a short range lightning blast (and the third is presumably ice, but I don't recall exactly). You can pick up and use these staves, but I seem to remember that they have limited uses.
- The aesthetic was pretty developed for a flash game - I think I remember the graphics being very good for an amateur game, with shadows and good effects comparatively.
- There's a mechanic involving "sneaking" into the background, where you can pass by enemies without attracting their attention. I think I remember that this was how to attack enemies when you didn't have a staff, emerging from the background (or pulling them into the background, maybe?) let you grab and use their staff.
Any help is appreciated!
Edited by Nadnapsresolved Not a lot to go on Videogame
All I remember clearly is if you didn't collect enough Mc Guffins, the game ends with you being chained to a rock and left for dead by the main villain, and that it was a PS 2-Xbox Era game.
Edit: Found it. Haven: Call of the King
Edited by lightsidesoulresolved 8-bit(?) game with an abandoned house and an island full of monkeys Videogame
there's this game i remember watching my dad play, likely around 2011-2016. i think it was 8-bit or at least in a pixelated art style.
the main things i remember about it are 1) there was an abandoned/haunted house with a harpsichord song playing in the background, and 2) there was a tropical island full of monkeys that threw bananas at you.
i also vaguely remember there being a fast travel mechanic where you could watch your character on a boat, and the sun/moon would rise and set to represent the days passing.
anyone have any ideas what game this is?
resolved Creepy Where's Waldo-esque game Videogame
This is a game I remember watching clips of a streamer playing. It's kind of like a Where's Waldo situation where you're trying to find one guy in various locations, only it gets creepier and more dangerous as the game goes on (I think at one point the guy is hiding from the mob or something?) Then at the end of it it's in first person and I think maybe the guy you've been finding all this time kills you?
resolved Wild West Game Videogame
In the late 90s - early 00s, my family went to Wall Drug and there was a Light Gun arcade game there. It was Wild West themed. The Attract Mode had this big Fat Bastard type yelling, "They call me Nasty Ted!" and then it cut to a handsome guy who said, "I'm too good-looking for jail." I always wanted to play it or find a longplay of it but never found it again.
resolved Pollution Pirates Videogame
There was an Edutainment Game I vaguely remember playing at school in the late 90s (97-98?). I think there were like four missions but the only one I remember playing was called Pollution Pirates.
It had like a live-action video of these two guys on a boat one was older and the other was tall and skinny. They were dumping stuff in the water.
I don’t remember the gameplay but I remember at the end when you won they showed the two guys getting locked in a jail cell.
resolved reverse angry birds Videogame
title says it all pretty much, it was like a reverse angry birds game where you had to build a structure with a set of given parts that would stand up to an attack, that attack being from cats and the structure being made of household objects
resolved Video game where villain turns people into wolfman minions (including the heroine in a Game Over) Videogame
The main villain blasts people with a transformation beam thing that turns them into wolf like creatures that are under his control. There's a Non-Standard Game Over where the if the heroine gets blasted in a particular fight (I think against her brother, who just got transformed as well) we see her transform and then get booted to the Game Over screen in a complete aversion of Heroic Willpower. I think the game was a pretty standard PS 2 era action game with a slightly cartoony art style.
resolved You play as a robot wearing a red cloak, with a golem as an ally Videogame
See title, but I remember the intro pretty well: the golem opens a vault containing your character, revealing that the world is covered in purple goo of some kind. After some basic tutorials, the goo attacks the PC, and the golem has to cut off their arm, replacing the robot's missing arm with one of their own. Additionally, your character has a sword, and it had some platforming elements, as well as an upgrade system.

I'm trying to find the name of a fighting game I came across a demo of as a kid. I remember it being around the same time I found a demo for Tekken 2, so it was in the 90's. It was on PS 1, and being a demo, I could only select one of three characters. After choosing my character, they, being in the top-left corner of the screen, would tilt their head towards the centre of the screen and make a sound (not sure if it was either laughing, or saying something in their native language). Then there would be a quick select of their opponent (in the top-right corner), and said opponent would also turn to the centre and (I think) say something in their native language.
