resolved Cutesy fantasy Android fishing game? Videogame
When I was a kid (like around 2010-2012), I played the hell out of this one fishing game on my mom's Android. The main things I remember are:
- The fisherman was some rounded, yellow(?) Cartoon Creature
- There was a huge variety of fantastical fishing rods, many of them seasonal
- You could catch things like mermaids and fish themed after sweets
I don't remember the title, and I can't seem to find it on the Google play store. Does anyone know what the game is called (and if it's still even running)?
Edited by ronisresolved Bouncing Robots (Solved) Videogame
Does anyone remember this game?
It is an RPG where you start with a round Robot Buddy, and whenever you get into a random encounter, you have to bounce your robot on the walls to tackle your opponent and defeat it.
Edited by ElBuenCuateresolved 2000s or older Platformer Videogame
I may not get the details right, but this is what I've remembered. Problem is, the title isn't one of them.
The story is a boy name Billy entering into a dream world.
The gameplay is platformer with ladders. You dig a hole on one of the grounds for one of the enemies to fall into, then you fill the hole to make to fall a level (or more for the harder ones) to their death. The goal of the game is to kill all enemies this way. After a time limit where will life-threatening obstacle such as a construction level having a wrecking ball that tries to hammer down onto the player.
The levels are themed after jungle (where the enemies are fruits), contructions (where the enemies are themed after tools), cave (can only think of a pickaxe as the enemy).
resolved A JRPG where the final battle is against first the BigBad and then a dragon. Videogame
I remember seeing it touted as an example of Woolseyism where the original had the Big Bad's pet dragon appear out of nowhere to avenge him and the translated version had him turn into the dragon as a Limit Break; but also seeing that this Woolseyism was just a rumor and the Big Bad turned into a dragon in both the Japanese and English versions.
Any idea what game this is (and which one is the true story)?
Edited by Chabal2resolved *Solved* PS1 Breakout clone? Videogame
So this is going back quite a bit for me but I'm trying to remember this game i played as a kid. I was a breakout clone where your paddle was like this rainbow forcefield thing, there were scrolling backgrounds that I wanna say were pre-rendered, and an over all theme of magic and wizards. I'm pretty sure it was on the Playstation though i may be mistaken on that part. The stage i remember best was this like dead forest area when the like game board was flying thru the trees in this kinda brown-toned landscape full of dead trees. There were standard breakout power ups but they were all given a magic flavor to fit the tone, and I think there was a narrator kinda like in bejeweled that would say the names of power ups whenever you got one.
Edited by gert10resolved (Got it :))Educational computer game about geography Videogame
This was more than a decade ago, give or take somewhere in 2008-2010. I think I bought it off a Toys R Us store, and I later got a similar game themed around history instead, but that's for my next query. It is entirely possible, however, for me to be able to find it from this query alone.
The game starts with you in a bedroom, perhaps after having filled out a sort of "passport" beforehand. Then there's this boy who gives a briefing about him being an explorer/traveller or something like that, and what you can do in the game, before vanishing into the world map on the wall.
There's loads of interactives in the room that can be accessed when viewing different sides of it, perhaps 4 in total. There's a table with a collection of mini-games, one of the three or four being to safely coordinate a ship to where "X" Marks the Spot. Lesser interactives in the room include a toy train which may have moved to the next side of the room each time it was clicked. A TV on the opposite side of the room is used to watch mini-movies, one being about the Inuits in the frozen lands of North America for example. That example was mostly live-action I believe, but there were more animated flicks as well, such as the ones about flying fishes and underwater volcanoes. The little films were mostly a mix of animation and live-action. I'm not certain, but it is possible, that they had to be unlocked first through exploration of the world map to be viewed again later.
The interactive map on the wall above the bed is the main attraction. Each of the several panels of the map's display can be viewed individually, each containing intriguing interactives on land or sea. A black bear in Alaska, a spooky castle in Romania, and a mermaid statue in Denmark are of the few interactives I remember. Each interactive undergoes a brief animation before displaying a corresponding window of information. (Some other features I remember: Eagle, Mount Rushmore in USA, maybe a paddle-streamer in the Mississipi, long train in Russia, jerboas in Mongolia, Great Wall of China, some castle that shot cannons in Scotland? to indicate time?) The map also features the use of postcards, which can be found later on a bedroom wall, and the use of transport like planes and boats to use as shortcuts, and each different journey would be catalogued in the passport you made earlier.
From the moment the boy leaves, the telephone by the TV starts ringing. I may have left out a detail in the boy's briefing that we'd be on a quest to find wherever he was in the world. Accepting to start that quest on the phone call would provide you the first clue of his whereabouts. Clicking the interactive correct to the clue gives the next clue in the form of a letter or something else he supposedly left behind for us to find. It's a lot easier to do this once you've become accustomed to the map, so you don't have to start this "scavenger hunt" straight away. Each victory you get from finally finding him (the quest can be taken more than once) is saved in one or a few big books on a shelf at the TV's side of the room.
I suppose it got lost along with the history counterpart while moving, or they were given away, but I really held my memories of those games dear to me and I wanna take a trip down memory lane for them.
Edited by BlackFaithStarresolved Space-Based Board Game with Three Different Races Videogame
I remember this is a board game with three different races trying to grab territory from each other. One race is a race of mole-like people who build stargates and send them to other worlds via slower than light means. Another race is race of bird-like people who use fragile faster than light starships to get from world to world. The third race is humans who have no faster than light travel but can reverse engineer it from either of the other two races.
If anybody can remember the name of this game, I'd be grateful.
resolved Silly "horror" web game Videogame
A few years ago I stumbled upon a rather silly "horror" flash Point-and-Click game that I had no idea how to beat.
It was from a first person POV and you began in some underground passage of sort. If you didn't move quickly and shut a door behind you a ridiculous Humanoid Abomination with crossed arms would pop from under the screen. Still it was rather funny than scary.
If you managed to get away succesfully you ended up in a dark forest of sorts with multiple paths to go. One led you to an area where a black humanoid figure with eyes all over it was scuttling erratically. If you poked it too eagerly it engulfed the entire screen while suddenly acquiring a mouth. It proceeded to trash-talk and then kill you. That's all I remember.
Edited by sohibilresolved 8-bit style 3DS game [Solved!] Videogame
Here's what I remember about a game I really liked and would like to play again. The whole game was in 8-bit style, like a NES game. It actually started with a little segment where you'd put the cart in, and then you'd simulate blowing into it to fix it. There were a few different types of heroes to choose from, like an old man knight, a stereotypical fighter character, a scantily clad "amazon" class I think?, a mage, etc. The writing in the game was very tongue-in-cheek with the medieval RPG setting. The gameplay was top-down style, and you'd roam around the map to defeat monsters and defend the princess in a castle.
Edited by HolyHeadcrabresolved Chocolate Broccoli Tycoon game (SOLVED) Videogame
So this would be around 2006-2009, I remember this restaurant-management/tycoon game where you would buy and upgrade these like candy stands? The final tier was a machine that dipped broccoli in chocolate for each customer, but that's the only specific one i remember. It was also Isometric top-down, though most of these type of games are. I believe it was either hosted by disney or it was from a disney affiliate because it was linked from the disney games site. It also featured a pair of hosts that walked you thru the tutorial, and a light educational theme. I can't remember if there were multiple stages, but i do rememeber a cityscape map.
- EDIT* It's called Hot Shots Business. I found it on the Wayback Machine, but the version with the candy factory that i remember is lost media unfortunately
resolved Pogo Climbing Block Puzzle Game (SOLVED) Videogame
I remember this old game on the website Pogo, where you would take control of 1 of 5 (6?) ninjas (I think); a red ninja, green, pink, blue, black, and MAYBE yellow. All of them had the same goal- climb a mountain. How do they do that? By stacking blocks of course!
The game played somewhat like Not Tetris; the shaped blocks were to be stacked and balanced to a dotted line acting as a checkpoint, where if the blocks stay above the line for about 3 seconds or more without (or while) toppling over, then all blocks turned into solid gold and you got to move on. Each ninja had a special ability to help stack the blocks- I specifically remember the green ninja was able to wrap a group of blocks in vines, keeping them in place.
It's probably been gone from the website for a long time, but it's been bugging me that I can't remember what this was called.
UPDATE: I FINALLY FOUND IT ON THE WAYBACK MACHINE! It was called Puck's Peak!
Edited by SleepyFoxresolved (Solved) Pico 8 game about fighting a magic mask Videogame
note Interesting how I first made my account to post queries here. It's nice to be back on this side of the site I suppose
So this may be a simpler one, one that I could solve myself if I stumble on it again. There was this one Pico 8
game I found on coolmathgames.com
that centred around a boss fight against what I think was a floating mask with Floating Limbs, maybe just gloved hands. It summons a magic wand in one hand and there you are, a little guy on a board right in front of the mask, dodging attacks that it magically summons on you.
Such tricks include falling coins, sprouting roses, flying cards - all of which are related with magic tricks. It gets progressively trickier as time goes on, and there are different difficulties one can select from. I can't recall the name; putting "pico", "magic", "wizard" or "mask" into the coolmathgames search bar doesn't help, but I could possibly bump into it again with the help of the random button, or looking for a list of Pico 8 games specifically?

resolved [Solved] Tanks with (optional) anime girls Videogame
After being in the Xbox Insider program for a while, I got the chance to try some early versions of some games. This was one of them.
In the game you control a tank/APC of one of five countries (USA, USSR/Russia, Canada, France and Denmark, I think) and fight against bots, either in teams or solo in a wide variety of maps, which can be either day, night or rainy in some cases. Since it was in early development, it didnt have arcade or story mode. You just choose a tank, map, settings and started playing. You could also play in multiplayer, but only in one map that looks artificial (unlike the offline maps, who look like battlegrounds, either in nature or the middle of some cities).
A bit unrelated: I remember this guy who had its tank look like Pikachu and was the best between all the players. In half an hour, he died only once, while he alone killed me at least 6 times.
The anime part is completely optional: you can have anime voices, anime graphics, anime-looking tanks and a hud with an anime girl, or normal voices, real-ish looks and no hud.
The box art showed the title with a close-up of 4 girls, from head to shoulders/chest: one of them had a beret, another was smiling while next to her was one that looked bored and the last one had brown skin. They were fully dressed with military uniforms, either as a tank commander or some general that gives orders. Im not sure if one of them had an eyepatch.
The game is also on Steam (or was, I cant find it).

resolved [Solved] Stranded on a lonely island Videogame
Again, as part of the Xbox Insider I tried some games on development. This is the second and last of them.
You start the game and choose if you are either a man or a woman. After that, you are inside what looks like a private jet. Everything's good, until turbulence kicks in and you crash on a tiny island. And from that point onwards, you do your best to survive.
Some gameplay elements:
- You see your stats in your watch.
- Eating too much coconuts makes you sick with diarrhea.
- You can craft your weapons, tools and almost everything, since the game tells you what you need to make them.
When I realised that I didn't managed the island resources in a smart way, I tried to swim to a another island that looked pretty close (Do not do this in real life. Distance in océans are very tricky). A shark bite my ass and I started to bleed.
When I reached the other island I was dying, and tried to get something to patch me up. In the way I found the skeleton of another human, and a wild animal that attacked me. After killing the animal I just waited to die. And that happened.
After that the game showed me the message Thank you for playing and didn't let me play again.
Some days later the game dissapeared of my console without a trace. Any idea?
Edited by Braylovskyresolved (SOLVED) Possible lost media Flash game about Ray-Man... no, not that one Videogame
EDIT: the name of the game is Greymond! my mind must have turned "Greymond" into "Ray-Man" over the years. however, I cannot find anywhere where it is still playable. if anyone has backed this game up, saved it to a hard drive, etc. etc. that would be fantastic! here was the original URL I played the game on:
https://www.abc.net.au/gameon/greymond/
EDIT 2: the game is available on Flashpoint, thanks so much everyone!
note: this is probably going to be a bit long winded, so I apologise. I'm also Australian, so this may be Australia-centric as I don't recall the game ever being uploaded to any other sites
there was this Flash game I used to play back between 2008 - 2010. it was titled something to the effect of "Ray-Man and the Seven Colors"; the latter half of the title I'm not sure on, but I'm 100% certain the main character's name was Ray-Man, hyphenated. the art style of the game was very toony, pretty similar to Homestar Runner. I remember quite a bit from this game so I'll list out everything I can recall:
• I played this game on a website for an Australian broadcasting channel like Rollercoaster (rest in peace) or the ABC • it required something like Adobe Shockwave or Microsoft Silverlight to play as I could only play it at home, school computers didn't allow downloading of executables • Ray-Man was small and fully white, no clothes or anything like that • the game's story involved Ray-Man recollecting colored orbs back from 7 bosses who stole their respective color of the rainbow from the world, turning everything monochrome • the game played like a boss rush where each boss had their own level involving different gameplay. I was absolute trash at this game and only ever managed to get up to the second boss • the first boss represented indigo, and took place in the ocean. you had to jump across platforms to reach the boss before the tide caught you in an auto-scroller • the second boss represented yellow, and it was a race across sand dunes. I could not beat this level for the life of me, I only ever managed to beat it once but had to turn my computer off so my progress wasn't saved. this boss was a lot bigger than the other characters, kind of being The Big Guy of the bosses. I believe he had hair covering his eyes as well. I never advanced past the yellow stage so I have no clue who the other bosses are or how their levels played out • there were little animated cutscenes inbetween each stage
for years I've tried to find this game again, but of course Googling is made difficult when there's an actually mainstream game series that is also called Rayman lol. I've tried checking everywhere and doing Wayback Machine on all the Aussie websites I can remember playing Flash games on as a kid to no avail. if anyone has any leads or even possibly a way to play this game again I'd be eternally grateful, all I've wanted is to beat this game
