resolved That movie from the '80s Film
I'm trying to find the title of this old movie from the '80s I saw as a kid. I only remembered some parts here and there There was a man and a woman trapped in a mansion/castle. There's lots of traps and secret passages. The place was run by a very wrinkled old man with white hair. He monitored everything with secret cameras and a command console (I think). His large(?) daughter served as a henchwoman and she had a crush on the man, who was creeped out. The man and the woman eventually escaped and went to the the police. They frantically gave explanations on a board. The police was just too confused and asked them to take them directly to the mansion/castle. Many police cruisers surrounded the place and things didn't ended the way the man and woman expected. That's all I remembered. Any ideas? Thanks.
Edited by Nevermore2002resolved Looking for name of film, woman in jail for smuggling Film
I'm looking for the name of film. It started with a female tourist visiting Greece(?) or Turkey(?). Two men forcibly sell her some souvenirs, I think they were stones from a monument. At the airport, she is arrested for smuggling and end up in jail. That's all I remember. Any ideas? Thanks!
resolved Probably the wrong lyrics but Film
There was this song I heard that had a female singer and the chorus sounded like "game on, gamer" (or maybe "gamer, game on", I can't remember). I'm pretty sure that's not right and I could barely hear it over the noise at the store, but it's the right number of syllables. I can't say what genre maybe pop?
resolved Disney's dog movie Film
I think it was Disney...is about a kid and his military older brother. They end with the dog of the school principal and try to exhort him to take it back and later force him to do various humilating things.
resolved Alien dogs Film
I think it was Disney, about a kid that finds a dog, but then the kid can understand dogs. And the dog explains he came from another planet to make sure a plan to dominate the planet is going through.
resolved A movie about a character in a toy world. Film
The premise is that the main character is a kid who likes toys that gets summoned to a toy world to fight an evil overlord. He gets the ability to copy the powers of any one toy so he picks his favourite - a Buzz Lightyear like toy that was recalled because of a defect that made it fall apart if you bent its limbs wrong, it turns out the evil overlord is the toy itself who wants to conquer the toy world as revenge for being recalled and the kid defeats him by using the defect to make him fall apart.
resolved Chevy Chase hits a fly with a blowdart Film
It's been over 20 years since I've seen this film.
Chevy Chase visits the Amazon rainforest, there's a boat ride through a river, Chevy rinses his bandana and catches some piranhas with it, Chevy meets a kid he has some connection with and agrees to bring him back to the city when he comes of age, kid comes of age through a tribal ceremony and Chevy reluctantly has to follow through on his promise. Hijinks ensue.
resolved 20th Century Fox movie with sentient toy dinosaurs (SOLVED) Film
At one point in my childhood, I saw the closing credits of a 20th Century Fox movie on TV. There were at least three scenes during the credits. One of them involved a toy dinosaur (I think) talking to another toy dinosaur, who I think was ignoring him. He was saying things like "Let's get this party started!" and "The roof is on fire!" The next credits scene involved the same dinosaur saying to a human boy something like "Bet you can't see us now! We're invisible!" The boy then said that he could see both of them. I think the credits ended with the Davis Entertainment logo, followed by the "(Produced and?) Released by Twentieth Century Fox" text.
Edited by MisterToodleooresolved Movie about wizards. Film
Sorry for the double-post. Am also searching for the name of a live-action movie. What I know of said movie is as follows: It had to do with this guy that got a ring with a dragon from a wizard named Balthasar when the protagonist was a kid, Balthasar also trained him to be the ultimate Merlinian (or something like that). When the protagonist got the ring Balthasar fought the Big Bad (that also result being his old friend and an ancient Merlinian) and both got sealed in a jar for some years. The henchmen of the Big Bad were: a weird asian dude that could summon a dragon, Loki (he even references the "this are not the droids you are searching for" meme) and a girl from the Salem witch trials. The objective of the Big Bad was to unseal Morgan Le Fay, a witch that was possessing Balthasar's girlfriend (another Merlinian), so she would revive the dead and they would take over the world. The movie showcased fun spells like transforming a gargoyle into a metallic eagle, being sent to the mirror world and Loki even transformed into the protagonist. There was even an scene where the protagonist plays music to his girlfriend using electricity and another that references fantasia 2001 (the part where Mickey makes the mops move).
Edited by megagutsmanresolved Guy Bleeding on the Floor Film
I say film, but it might also have been an episode of a TV show. I can only remember this one scene:
Guy is laying on the floor. I don't remember how he got there, whether he collapsed or just laid down. He passes out/falls asleep. The owner of the floor (a woman?), tries to get him up, finds blood on her hand. He's got some wound from earlier that's started bleeding. But, in a continuity error, I recall he had blood on his shirt, but not on his jacket/outer layer, which it would have had to soak through to get on her hand.
I remember the carpet being grey and maybe patterned, there being a black couch behind them, and a glass-topped table off to the side, but that could be just my imagination. She might comment on how he's bleeding all over her carpet. She seems surprised that he's wounded, but isn't, like, panicking about it, like he does this sort of thing all the time.
More or less modern setting. It was probably made in the last 10 years.
Please help me.
Edited by StGermainresolved Unknown 199X movie with aliens Film
There was one film I have seen back in childhood (dad used to have many VHS with films, some of dubious quality, and I watched many of them uncontrollably; unfortunately, he threw them away years ago, and now I can't just check myself).
Now I want to at least know what it was, if not rewatch movie itself. Many years passed since then, so I can only remember some rather random moments, but thats, probably, my last chance to find this movie anyway (I tried Wikipedia, I actually found another "forgotten" movie truth it, but here it failed to help me). Remembering details about movie I watched ~20 years ago is hard, so it may (and would) sound rather... weird.
- Movie almost surely was created in nineties, and was direct-to-video (otherwise, I would probably have found this already by then).
- It was Sci-Fi movie about aliens. As far as I remember, they resembled cross between xenomorph and Plavalaguna from Fifth Element, and were black-skinned. Aliens were able to transfer their minds into human bodies (most of the time they were in human bodies, and aliens were in some sort of anabiosis). There were at least two, male and female (probably three, but I can't remember third one).
- One of aliens was in form of attractive brunette woman; I also clearly remember what she was clothed in light-coloured striped sweater, or something similar (yeh, this was what I remembered most clearly, for whatever reason). That same alien later commit Heel–Face Turn; at least, she run with other survived characters, in human form.
- All other aliens died in the end, their (true) bodies were physically destroyed.
- There were humans, abducted by said aliens and put on their space ship. I'm not sure about their exact numbers, but there were at least three of them. One guy was policeman (?), and there was some blond girl who died.
- There was some press-like torture device (which killed aforementioned blonde).
- I had know this movie under name "Colony", but it could be simple mistranslation (nope, its unrelated to this movie about new ice age, I already tried this variant).
resolved Fake Isolated Tribe (SOLVED) Film
What's the name of the comedy where an anthropologist travels to an isolated region in Africa/Polynesia in search for an isolated tribe, but it turns out the region is deserted. So, since he's in trouble with his bosses (a National Geographic type TV channel) he makes a fake documentary in his backyard using his kids as fake tribespeople. Later, he drugs his girlfriend so she'll do a crazy Mushroom Samba dance which he presents to the bosses (for whom she works) as a fertility ritual?
Edited by Mac_Rresolved (Solved) Period Piece; A European Woman Stranded in Africa with Her Ailing Husband Film
Trying to remember the name of a dramatic film I watched between 2011 - 2015?
The film follows the journey of a European woman and her husband who go on a trip to Africa. They do a bit of exploring and some bike riding, but the husband becomes horribly ill. The woman is unable to get him to a hospital, or even find a doctor in the tiny town where they've taken shelter — there's a terrible sickness going around (maybe tuberculosis, or cholera?) that has everyone stuck in their homes. She knocks on every door she can find, but no one can help her. She tends to her husband as he gets sicker and sicker, and then passes away. The woman can't make her way to an embassy (or even a real city, I think?), goes mad with grief, and becomes lost in the desert. She's rescued by a tribe of Bedouins, has a romantic dalliance with one of her rescuers, and eventually makes her way back home.
I think the film was made pre-2000s (all the footage of the desert and the sunsets had a film-stock warmth to it, not a digital camera feel?). From the fashion and technology I remember in the film, I'm pretty sure it was set before the 1960's.
Edited by Leporidaeresolved A horror film about a couple lost in a winter wilderness chased by a mysterious figure Film
I vaguely remember there was this horror film about a couple lost in a winter wilderness. The couple get chased by a mysterious figure while lost in the wilderness.
Towards the end of the film it turns out the couple was Dead All Along (they were ghosts that died in a car crash but never realized they died until they meet their own dead bodies in the wilderness). The figure stalking them was actually a psychopomp trying to take them to the afterlife.
Can anyone tell me the name of this movie?
resolved A girl with super powers tv series Film
Greetings...I'm looking for a tv show which was made in early 2000's I believe. It's about an evil organization hunting kids with superpowers. I remember the main girl character being Asian and her eyes would turn yellow when she used her superpowers. Can't remember what her powers were exactly...maybe telekinesis...She also had a little brother who inherited some of her powers. Thank you very much for your help!
resolved Movie with a parachute that's actually a ball? Film
I'm trying to find a movie, probably 90s, possibly 80s or even early 2000s. At one point a character is meeting some sort of arms dealer proposing a parachute solution to him. Instead of a parachute, it wraps the wearer into a ball-like contraption. To test it, he grabs the dealer and jumps out of the plane, they both make it out to the ground, with the dealer exclaiming (at least in the French dub I saw) something along the lines of "You're crazier than my hairdresser!"
resolved Movie about a principal trying to save his school Film
I'm looking for the title of a movie I vaguely remembered. It was a school principal (black guy) trying desperately to save his school from falling apart. Kinda like Dangerous Minds, but way more cynical and depressing. He never gave up no matter what. Unfortunately, it looked like hopeless struggle. The scenes I remembered: Everyday, he would clean graffiti only for new graffiti to show the next day. He tried to help some students by bringing them to at stay at his home much to her wife's disapproval. She leaves him later. Any ideas? Thanks.
Edited by Nevermore2002resolved Alien vivisecting a human Film
When I was little, I remember seeing my older cousins watching a movie, and I never forgot the scene in which an alien ties a human to a operating table and opens him to study the human, all while the man is awake and screaming. I don't remember well how the alien looked like.
resolved (Solved) Some live-action family movie involving a team of super-powered kids Film
Borrowed this one from a video library some years back, my memories of it may be as hazy as a fever dream but I'll recall what I can. The plot revolved around the recruiting of a team of youths with superpowers against some oncoming threat. Early into the movie was this one rather rapid-fire sequence of several super-kids showcasing their powers in hopes of getting picked. (One child's powers were so unpleasant, the judges repeatedly stamped his paper with the stamp of rejection, can't remember if the powers involved flatulence or something else gross.) Shortly after this was another scene, in a room rather than a gym where the judging appeared to be going on, where a boy inflated to the size of the room. (He was unharmed, but I forget what caused it) I assume kids having superpowers was somewhat natural in that world-. Out of the 5 or 6 kids (I think) that got picked for the team was a younger girl with telekinetic powers and a boy with super speed. One hilarious scene I recall from the middle of the movie involved the telekinetic girl and 2 others from her team pulling a string of practical jokes on this one spectacled dude in the vicinity, (either he was a goon or a facility worker who they didn't like, my brain is leaning towards the latter option) by trapping him in a room of various attractions to booby-trap him with. The scene ends with the guy on his knees and the girl from outside of the room seeing each other eye-to-eye, he's shaking his head, she slowly nods while The Good, The Bad and The Ugly theme plays in the background, before she causes a landslide from the opposite side of the room to fall on him. One thing I recall from the team's training sequences was this circular room designed to spin (two floor circles spinning in opposite directions, could've been more) and paintballs? they had to avoid shot out of the walls, while the goal was to press or get something in the middle of the room. I forgot where the team got a UFO from, but they were using one closer to the end of the movie. (So I'm lead to believe the oncoming threat that was anticipated the whole movie was aliens? Honestly can't remember) However I do recall them attempting to make a drive-thru order onboard their spacecraft, could've been after the big fight. Oh lord this one's wordy :p sorry if I get some things mixed up, it was quite a while back. Hopefully there's more than enough details for someone to pick up on. Appreciate the help. 🙏

1980s or 1990s comedy-drama movie about three elderly/late middle aged widows and friends in New York. One remained faithful to her husband, one decided to “sow her wild oats” as it were, and the plot revolved around the last, who decided to start dating a local widower (and bus driver?). The film ended with the faithful widow dying, the unfaithful widow admitting she hadn’t really seen anyone since her spouse’s death, and the third widow and the widower still together.
