openCountry music song about a suicidal dad Music
I have part of a song stuck in my head that I think I heard about 20 years ago so the song is probably from the 1990s or earlier. The basic plot of the song is that a dad wants to commit suicide but his family keeps talking him out of it by pointing out how each method of killing himself will inconvenienced them. I think it starts with them begging him not to jump off the roof because it will take them so long to clean up the blood and the guts. And after that they tell him not to hang himself in the basement because the pipes can't hold his weight or some thing like that. I don't remember much else about the song. I think it was a country music song but I'm not 100% sure.
openSci-fi show about ancient tech and a "labyrinth" Live Action TV
So, about a week or so ago I caught my grandfather watching some show I don't think I've ever seen before. A live action science fiction show that looked like it was from the 90s (or maybe late 80s). I only caught about the last quarter of the episode, but in it I saw a group of humans on what I presume to be an alien planet, some of them were tied up (again, I presume) to be either executed or scarified by tribal-looking aliens, while others were convincing this other alien (that the humans seem to have befriended earlier) to save the people who are tied up, which he does. The humans and their alien friend then escape to the humans' spaceship. Some villainous character gets revived at the same time and tries to stop the humans by jumping onto the aforementioned spaceship and doing magic-y stuff only to get knocked off or something and falling to his doom into a pit of lava. Then the crew of the spaceship begin talking about what I assume to be the real plot of the show, an ancient alien tablet they found which a scientist character claims is the first piece of a puzzle that will bring infinite knowledge or something when completed. The captain of the ship then gives a speech to his crew, talking about the rough journey they're on, and he says something about how they're trying to escape a 'labyrinth'. One of the last shots I remember seeing is of the spaceship not leaving the atmosphere as I would expect but continuing to fly over a rocky landscape. As far as aesthetics go, as mentioned it looks vaguely 1990s, the humans were all wearing red military-like uniforms. Most of them I couldn't really tell apart because I wasn't paying enough attention, but there were a few that stood out. One was a black guy with short hair and a mustache who I'm pretty sure was the only one in the group that was armed, specifically with an ordinary assault rifle, which he fired wildly at some bad guys at one point. I also remember two women in the group, one that wore glasses and another that had the top half of her uniform off, wearing a white tanktop underneath. I don't remember much about the aliens, other then they were big and bulky, and had either white skin or white fur. The humans' spaceship was long and rectangular, but also kind of rounded. Reminded me of a few Imperial ship designs in old Star Wars Legends media. The way the ending of the episode is framed suggested to me that it's the pilot, or at least a very early episode.
I hope that description isn't too confusing.
Edited by RayceSkykilleropenSeries of books about magic stones Literature
Trying to find the name of a series of books I read back in Primary School (Elementary school for the americans) but I don't remember much more then scant details about it.
I believe the main McGuffin of the series were called milkstones, or something akin to that. I don't remember why they were being sought or what they did unfortunately.
The plot of the first book involved a wizard who was protecting one of the stones by shapeshifting into the form of a pool of water. In the interest of going and doing something else they grant the protagonist the ability to shapeshift to take his place temporarily. It works for a little, but the protagonist gets angry, beliving the wizard into having duped him into taking his place as the guardian and starting to boil, leading to... something. The protagonist also gains the ability to talk to birds at some point.
Second book involves a gladitorial area where the fights between the contestants are compared to dancing. Or are actually dancing. The protagonist of that book gets into a fight with what I think was the emperor for the right to control the place or the right to leave. They win and kill them but come to the sobering realisation that by killing them in such an intimate manner they've become a little more like him. They leave and take some people with them and I can't remember what happens afterward.
Third book involves a witch tricking a girl into thinking she's a cat to actually shapeshift her into one so she can sneak into somewhere for some reason, returning to human form like nothing had happened once inside in a way that confuses them.
Sorry for the minimal details, I read these things over a decade ago so my recollection of them is hazy at best. If anyone could assist I would appreciate it.
openPlease helpp Film
so i wanna say i watched this almost 10 years ago so it was either a movie or a tv show where a couple different people magically received this letter that they were accepted into this dance school i believe , i only remember two parts one part was a guy that when he stepped into these shoes it could control what he was doing and would make him dance and they other pet was a ballerina that was being controlled like a puppet with strings. It was very long ago so so i don’t remember all the details so i apologize about that
openMobile Rat RPG Videogame
Spoiler Alert: This won't be the last time I ask about a mobile game with rodents in it.
I remember a game from about 6-9 years ago (so, 2012-2015 for future reference), maybe less. I got it off of either the Google Playstore or some other mobile game store, but not the App Store (Apple).
The game was about rats taking over the world or something? I believe it was the post-apocalypse and rats were just thriving. There was a map where you could send rats to collect resources and fight other rats. One of the locations was a plaground. The art style was kinda realistic, but the rats were anthropormorphic and wore clothes and held weapons. The game was in 2D, but the art was very impressive to young me.
The gameplay was an RPG where you had to balance the battle's "intensity" by talking to the opponent or doing other actions. The battles tended to be one-on-one. The three main classes were Rogue, Mage, and Warrior archetypes, and each were better at certain intensities. Rogues were best at low intensity (green), Mages were best at medium (yellow), and Warriors were best at high (red). I believe the intensity bar was at the top of the screen.
There was a plot, but I do not remember it for the life of me. I remember being surprised at the appearance of an out-of-place and scary boss... but I can't remember the details, either.
Edit: I believe the main base was in the sewers. Also, the game is not "The Rats", which doesn't match the art style.
Edited by AetherStariteopen[Solved] Looking for a webcomic that was kinda Roger Rabbit Webcomic
I'm looking for a webcomic that was kind of like Who Framed Roger Rabbit but not exactly so. I've forgotten the title of it, so finding it is almost impossible without it.
Here's what I remember. It follows a group of humans and toons who work at a "cartoon" studio. In this web comic's universe, cartoons aren't animated by being drawn because cartoon toon characters somehow exist naturally, enough so that they can actually breed with humans (in fact, one of the main characters is a cartoon-human hybrid, giving her a unique appearance). Instead, "cartoons" are filmed with only cartoon characters with special sets.
One of the reoccurring themes of the webcomic was how standards and practices affect the industry. This is a very old webcomic, taking place around 2005 to 2010. As such, homosexuality wasn't as widely accepted at this time as it is today. So another element was that one of the main characters had to keep her lesbian relationship a secret in order to maintain her child-friendly image. (I know, this sounds ridiculous nowadays, but we're talking about a different time).
Here are the characters I remember in the comic.
There's this very old cartoon character who was big in the early 30's or something to that effect. He was a monkey and after earning a lot of money as a star, eventually created his own studio, which has been in business in one form or another. This is the studio that the webcomic takes place in.
The old cartoon character married a cartoon cat that was about ten or twenty years younger than him (I forgot the specific ages, but the point is there's an age difference). They had two kids, one of them was the closeted lesbian I mentioned earlier, the other was a monkey that looked more like his father than his sister did. He's under a lot of pressure to work on a reboot of the cartoons that his father was in. He's not happy about this but feels like he can't let his father or the studio down.
There was also the human-cartoon hybrid I mention earlier. The best way I can describe her is a very thick, curvy short stack. This means she isn't "kid-friendly" enough for modern cartoons, so she can only work in the background, like set design and stuff.
There were a few other characters but they aren't as important to the plot.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Edited by IndigoJackopenIndie superhero comic
I remember seeing scans of this comic on 4chan /co/ a few years ago, as well as researching it at the time, but now I can’t quite recall what it’s called or who the author is. It’s about superheroes, but viewed in a more “anti-hero for hire” lens. The thing that stood out to me was that the comic had an unconventional art style that leaned towards cubism to slight abstraction, and the pages were a kraft paper color. Another specific publication detail I remember was that the comic was self-published until a big company (Dark Horse, or Image?) decided to pick it up. The comic also had a one-word title.
openChildren’s book about a single street developing over several decades
I remember being read this picture book in school when I was younger. The book was focused on a single street, and how it developed over the years. The book’s title was the name of the street, and the “camera” never changed- it always showed the street from the same perspective, with the titular street running horizontally, and with another street running perpendicular on the left side.
The story began in the late 20s/early 30s (I think 1929 to be exact?), when the street was nothing but a random dirt road. A family moved onto a road and built a house there, with the previously-unnamed street being named after the family’s surname. As the street developed, more buildings popped up, one of them being a small store. In the following decades, the street, as well as the area around it continued to develop and expand, with tons of new buildings popping up. The small store I mentioned before grew larger and larger, eventually becoming a supermarket. However, by the 70s/80s, the area became dirty and polluted. Stores and buildings were everywhere, the sky was yellow, and there was a sign warning of acid rain. (One specific business I remember that was in the image was the “Apple Diner” or something like that, which later became an auto store). However, a massive fire broke out around that time, and pretty much everything was destroyed. The book ended on a positive note, though, as for after the fire destroyed everything, the street was able to redevelop, with it becoming much cleaner and brighter than it was before.
openAnime with a princess shooting a man point-blank after kissing him. Anime
Asking for my brother actually, in his words, here's what he remembers.
"I watched this anime in the late 1990s or early 2000s, but the anime itself may be older than that. Two countries are at war with each other in a fantasy-like setting. Their equipment is a level with tanks and firearms. A woman, who is possibly a princess of one of the countries, ends up in a beautiful cave with a man. They hug and kiss. A gunshot is heard. The man steps away, and we see that the woman has shot him at point-blank range. The man is shocked and falls dead. The woman then shoots herself. Her body falls from a cliff into the lake."
Any help is appreciated.
Edited by ShirokurouopenA kpop music video with tanks and helicopters. Music
I saw a weird kpop music video on You Tube in the early 2010s.
The artist was a solo female singer with long black hair. The video was set in an Eastern European/Russian city ravaged by war where a crowd of refugees was walking past semi-destroyed buildings.
The singer wore a military uniform with a cap and black gloves, as she was singing on an airfield next to tanks and helicopters. The hardware looked Russian.
Please, help me to find it.
openA movie about an impossible to leave island. Film
A bunch of characters end up stranded on an island. I don't remember if they were shipwrecked or arrived via crashed airplane. On the island they find a modern-looking town and a small community living reasonably comfortable lives. When the characters ask where they are and how they can go back to mainland, they are told that the island isn't marked on any map and is somehow impossible to leave. Communication with the outside world is also out of the question as there's only static on the radio. In one scene I remember two men took a small motorboat and sailed it in a straight line away from the island, using sun as a navigational point. They eventually ran out of fuel, but they used makeshift paddles to continue their journey. When they finally spotted land, it turned out they arrived back on the island, even though they were sure that they didn't get turned around. I think the island might have been located somewhere in Bermuda Triangle, but I'm not sure. I watched it on TV not long before Lost started airing, but I'm sure it wasn't an episode of that show. It also couldn't be older than the 80s and most likely was from 90s or early 2000s.
openThis Youtube video about a halloween special of Super Smash Flash 2 Web Original
I remember watching this as a kid, So the video wasn't actually made by the SSF 2 team, the creators of the video used old sprites of the characters. all i remember from it is Mario walking up a haunted house, and a bunch in another room I believe the video is Spanish, if not, then it's english.
openSimon's Cat video where Simon doesn't realise the cat is hungry.
My cousin says that she vaguely remembers a Simon's Cat video where Simon is in a chair reading a newspaper, and then the cat meows, but Simon doesn't respond. Then, the cat opens his mouth, points, and closes it, but Simon thought the cat wanted him to close the curtains.
openAbout slavery Film
I menaged to saw a few minutes of a nice movie, it was about an european (or maybe american) attorney who was trying to free some slaves, including an african prince that was kidnapped and sold with the other people. Each one with his own language, they start almost threatening each other (the attorney is stuck up and a bit snobbish, while the prince is obviously very suspicious about his intentions) but then they build a friendship even if they cannot comprehend what the other is saying
open(SOLVED: it was hopla thank you baivivsiga) Kids show with rabbit and colors
So, I vaguely remember this show, but the scene I do remember was a rabbit similar to looking like Miffy looking over some colorful town. It then changes to a scene with a blue background, and red dots on the screen. In time to some music, the red dots flip to yellow and back, forming patterns. There was no dialogue.
I can only confirm this was real by my friend saying they remember it, however they don’t remember the name either. Can anybody here help me out? Been looking forever.
Quick edit: The show was in 3D.
Edited by CinnominopenTry to find old shasher movie Film
Years ago I came across a slasher movie from the 80's about a group of teens out camping and falls victim to an alien served by a priest who believes the alien is an angel. The film ends with repeating dream within dream by the two last survivors who are married. Can any of you find out the name of the movie.
openObscure Christmas musical about a moose (solved)
I saw a musical when I was little and I don't remember much about it, except a few minor details:
- The play was performed at the Queens Theatre in the Park. Not sure if it aired at any other venues.
- It was a Christmas-themed musical, and starred a friendly moose in a sweater. (I know because I had a plush toy from the show.)
- There was a song where an angry snowball sang to the moose about how he needed to be more "tough." Later the moose was faced with some conflict and repeated to himself, "Enough is enough, I gotta be tough" and he yelled at someone and I think it just led to more trouble.
This is definitely a gamble but I haven't been able to find out what the show is in years.
Edited by mightymewtronopenIt was a MST3K rip off...maybe Live Action TV
So I remember seeing one episode maybe late 90’s or early 2000’s. Its was a guy in a spaceship and he watches TV and comments on weird shows or commercials. When he picks up the right signals he can use them to warp to earth and try and get home. I remember there was also and alien girl onboard the ship as well. I kind of think the guy had an Australian accent, maybe 😅.

There was a movie that I remembered watching. In this movie, there was like a truck (not a big truck, but like one of those small trucks that people drive.) The main character, who had a thick Alabama accent, took the truck to Texaco and bought a Mounds candy bar and an RC Cola. He was human, but he had a girlfriend who was a pink anthropomorphic rabbit. The pink rabbit wore a yellow dress and high heels with no socks. Anyway, that guy and his girlfriend wanted to get married, but he had other things to do. He had to fight crime. He was like a cop and he had to fight crime. It took him a long time of fighting crime before he could finally marry the girl. It was like 9P.M. on the movie when he got married. Anyone know what movie I’m talking about? Thanks!
Edit: The human (and the movie itself) was live action, by the way, but the rabbit was animated. It was like an 80s movie, so CGI wasn’t really a thing yet. The rabbit was traditionally animated. I remember I had a huge crush on the rabbit.
