openFrench (Canadian?) historical drama Live Action TV
I remember watching this around 2 years ago (in 2018, as of the time of writing) on a French-language cable channel.
I assume it's a recent 2010s show, so I'll say it's from the 2010s, and it was historical in subject matter. The plot involved a frontier town in 1800s Canada; the show was about the said town, and its French-Canadian inhabitants who seemed to have a conflict with the Anglo-Canadians that were also there.
The show was mostly in French (un-subtitled) with some lines in English, befitting the historical context; and it was night and raining in most of the scenes. My memory of this show was quite vague so I couldn't exactly broadly look it up.
Edited by ActualBeatriceopenA show I can't find. Live Action TV
I was in Mexico once for a dental appointment and they had a show in English. It was one of those crime solving shows that had teams of people trying to solve.
Anyways, one of the lady investigators went to a woman's house because the woman was a suspect. The investigator was knocked out by something (can't remember what). Said investigator woke up with her arms restrained behind her back and tied to the weights of an exercise machine. When the investigator tried to fight back against the suspect woman the evil woman cut a rope that was holding the weights of the machine up and since the weights were heavier than the investigator she was left hanging, not by her neck mind you, but couldn't really get free. After this scene I was called to see the dentist.
openAn English documentary series about the 60s, 70s and 80s counterculture in other countries. Live Action TV
I remembered watching this documentary in the late 2000s hosted by a lady whose name I don't remember but was a former 80s rockstar (I think) where she shows clips and interviews with people about the teenage counterculture that was happening during the 60s,70s and 80s in other countries like the Soviet Union, India, East Germany and I believe it was Argentina or Columbia. Here are some of clips that I remembered watching from the documentary :
- A Russian lady talked about how she enjoyed Bollywood movies during her youth since they were one of the few foreign films not banned by the Soviet Union.
- A guy from South American talked about how the Military Junta tried to ban rock music since rock concerts were popular places for teenagers who hated the Junta and arrested anyone playing Rock music.
- A former Hungarian rockstar used Loopholes to fool the Communist authorities that his band was playing "traditional" Hungarian music since they saw all types of rock music as "Corrupt Capitalist influences".
- During the 70s Disco craze, the Soviet Union created a Disco Rockband for their teenagers as an alternative to Western bands and inspire Patriotic feelings for the Soviet Union.
openMurder Mystery Show, Son Wants Revenge for Mother's Death, Elevator Kills Old Woman? Live Action TV
So, I have a memory of an episode of a show I watched sometime within the last couple years. Honestly it might actually be two different episodes of two different shows, but I'm not 100% sure of that. It's a murder mystery show, and the episode (I think it took place at an apartment complex) begins with an elderly woman in an elevator, which gets stuck between floors. She tries to climb out, but the elevator car falls as she's climbing out and cuts her in half, killing her. I remember there being a cat in the scene? I seem to remember a lot of the episode revolving around a memorial service for a woman who died there some time ago. In the end, it's revealed that the man who's been committing the murders is the woman's son, killing to avenge his mother, who was murdered in a common area of the apartment complex. Multiple people heard the murder, but did nothing to stop it (sort of a Kitty Genovese situation). The climax of the episode involves the protagonists held at gunpoint by him, trying to convince him to put down the gun. Oddly, I have two conflicting memories of this being a Psych episode and being a British TV series, but it can't be both, and it seems a bit too dark for Psych. I've tried Google and looked at a few elevator trope pages and came up blank. Any help would be extremely appreciated.
openKids show/tv special Live Action TV
I don't remember very much about what I'm looking for. I believe it was in the late 90's early 2000's. I'm not sure if it was a full tv show or just a one episode special. What I do remember is that one part of it the main male host was telling the story of Rumpelstiltskin to some children with 3 women singing parts in between certain parts of the story. I also remember there being a dance number where it was the male host and a bunch of other people running on the spot in 2 lines with people taking it in turns at the front before running to the back. I know it isn't much to go on, but hopefully someone on here will know what I'm talking about, if anyone has any memory of it and can add more to my description that would be helpful. Thank you.
Edited by Visian27openUnknown - Early 90's TV show on UK TV Live Action TV
Struggling to remember a show that I remember watching as a kid in the UK in the early 1990s.
The episode I remember had a black female character called Karen ((I think) who met a slightly older male character (also black) with a deformed hand. I am sure that she also catches glimpses of him in mirrors in her house.
I cannot remember how, but I seem to remember her travelling back in time and getting tried as a witch.
The episode ends with a young boy high fiving his father, who is shown to be Karen's father, and the boy is showing the same deformity as the older male character Karen met previously. You then see her in the mirrors at the end.
Had stuck in my head for years because I remember it scaring me, and I really want to try to find it again!
openWhich Goosebumps episode was this from? (solved!) Live Action TV
Listen to this podcast here
It features episodes such as "Welcome to Dead House", "Welcome to Camp Nightmare", "Stay out of the Basement", "Attack of the Jack-O'-Lanterns", "Bride of the Living Dummy", but I cannot make out one at 00:35-00:37, a few kids chant something, such as "(name)'s on the (word)", I cannot make out who they are talking about and what they were referring to, but can anyone please help me? I have seen several Goosebumps episodes, but I cannot remember what this is from. Thank you in advance. It is right after "you must trick or treat forever" from "Attack of the Jack-O'-Lanterns", and overlaps with "happy Halloween" before R.L. Stine speaks.
Edited: the kid taunting with a chant is a girl, possibly more than one, and I think is saying something like "()'s on the brick", which makes no sense but hopefully it will ring bells.
(Update: I asked this somewhere else and it was solved)
Edited by thestormtrooperopenmonster of the week netflix original Live Action TV
I remember a few years back there was this kids' show on netflix about these three teens who lived in a weird town, very reminiscent of eerie indiana. there was one kid who wore a bunch of watches, I think maybe his name was Watch? they were always making short jokes about the girl. In the fifth episode (or thereabouts) they had a kind of Halloween special where the kids got turned into their Holloween costumes. The girl was a witch, and I think the show was named after the town, probably a -town or a -ville.
openScifi-Drama episode where a bullied teen learns he has superpowers and becomes a 'hero.' Live Action TV
Hello! I'm trying to remember a TV show episode (a Drama) I know it aired on the TNT network (also had some Scifi elements to it).
I remember watching the episode sometime in the 2000s but I don't remember the title of the series.
The main character in the episode is a bullied teenage boy who has some sort of psychic ability (if my memory serves me correctly) a he was a mulatto and had only one friend, a girl. Also certain it took place in and/or around a high school too. He later earns the respect from the students who bullied him and saved his school with his power(s), though I’m not too sure about that.
I remember that the series may have been one from the late 90s early 2000s.
I know the information is scant but its all I recall. Any helpful links would be appreciated. Searched through a lot of TNT series but have not had much luck.
opentv show about navajo girl with heart transplant Live Action TV
Someone told me about this show but I don't remember the name. It was on Netflix, idk if it was an original though. It was about a Navajo girl who got in an accident and had a heart transplant from a dead girl who died mysteriously. The dead girls parents offered to pay for the Navajo girl to go to this fancy private school that their dead daughter went to, and the Navajo girl soon discovers that she is having strange abilities that resemble the dead girl, and there's a plotline where the character's try to figure out how the dead girl died?
openMade-For-TV "Origin of Santa" movie with Black Pete Live Action TV
So I've had this on my mind for many years and figured since it's the middle of the holiday season I'd finall get around to asking about it. When I was a kid growing up in Louisiana, sometime around the early-mid 2000s, I remember there being some live action made-for-TV movie about the Origin Story of Santa Claus, kind of like Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town but less geared towards kids. Unfortunately I was for some reason (can't quite remember, but I think it had to do with me forgetting when it'd be on) unable to watch most of it and only caught the beginning and end. It might've been a hallmark flick but I'm pretty sure it was on PBS or something.
EDIT: WOW, I finally get around to asking about this and then immediately find it with one google search lmao. Guess I wasn't as diligent in my search as I thought. It's called "Santa and Pete," aired in 1999 on CBS, and stars James Earl Jones as the narrator. It's also chock-full of Anachronism Stew, taking place in the 1600-1700s despite Santa explicitly being Saint Nicholas.

This was a game show with a horse-race theme. The final round was a lottery-style ping-pong ball selector, and the bonus round was a single die rolling game where one of the sides of the die had a spade symbol on it.
It was NOT Celebrity Sweepstakes.

opentv series where the protagonist remembers investigating paranormal cases when he was young Live Action TV
Hi, so i watched a couple of episodes a while back, 10+ years ago and for the life of me i can't remember what it's called. So the action takes places in the 20's or 30's, there are 2 scientists, a man and a woman and they investigate weird cases, one of them was about a small meteorite with a transparent crystal sticking out of it, that glowed a weird light at random times and if you looked into that light, it teleported you to another planet. Another episode was about some guys involved in some secret naval experiment with a large copper coil, some accident happened and one of them was left blind and the other shipwrecked on some island but the blind guy was seeing through the eyes of the one that was shipwrecked and they were trying to find the shipwrecked guy, using the cues given by the blind guy. The first episode i saw was the main protagonist as an old man, remembering these cases while talking to some guy in a facility, this happens during what i believe is world war 2, as i remember him asking about the food, as it was rationed.
Edited by I_Am_WeaselopenPaper-erasing plague episode? Live Action TV
I was recently reminded of an old promo for (I think) a TV episode back in the late 90s, that I never got to watch. It was clearly inspired by Y2K paranoia about digital data-loss, only with a scifi twist: instead of electronically-stored information, some kind of microorganism was erasing hardcopy. The ad showed various paper items - the Mona Lisa, money, the Declaration of Independence - all turning blank as their ink/paint was consumed. I used to think it was an episode of Seven Days, but now that summaries of that show are available online I've checked, and nothing matches. Was there some other weird-catastrophe-themed TV show, that aired during that Y2K-paranoia period? Or an anthology series that explored ideas like that? Been bugging me on and off for ages.

openSOLVED!!!! Reference to the Ziggy Stardust album Live Action TV
Trying to recall a TV show, possibly a film, where the male main character was in a record store, was talking to the female store worker or possibly a younger male customer, about a copy of David Bowie's "Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars", on vinyl, with the original artwork.
I think it was an American show, from the last couple of years, could possibly have had scifi or time travel elements to it.
a vague memory of it was triggered when I watched Guardians of the Galaxy on new years eve, and "Moonage Daydream" played when they visited Knowhere, it's been bugging me ever since!
Edited by robstopperopenSelf-aware characters chase the writers Live Action TV
Trying to remember an episode of a show in which the characters become self-aware, realize they're being made to do increasingly ridiculous things, discover they're on a TV set, go behind the set, find the writer's room, and start chasing the writers around the sound stage.
I believe it was a North American kids sitcom from roughly the 2000s era, maybe early 2010s, possibly set in a school, in the style of Lizzie McGuire, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, or Mr. Young, but I can't find anything remotely similar for any of these shows I can think of.

So, around the early to mid 2000’s I remember watching this adventure show (can’t remember the genre, could’ve been fantasy or sci-fi, or both), where the heroes (a man and woman) are chasing the bad guys after they get some kind of macguffin that causes them to become younger and younger. The villains were also male and female and from what I remember, the female villain is able to get out of whatever force is causing her to continuously become younger. However, the male villain isn’t so lucky: he keeps running away from the female hero until he turns into a baby (I think he eventually hides under a table). The female hero tries to beckon the baby to either come to her or give her the Macguffin when, to her horror, the now babyified villain turns to dust. This episode has been in my brain for years, and since I’m a writer I’m looking for obscure series to get some ideas.
The only other thing I can provide is I THINK the series was set in a desert, but honestly it could’ve been just that one episode.
