openEducational zoo animal show with puppets and animation? 90's VCR? Film
I have searched and searched for the title of this vcr tape and just cannot find it. When I was a little girl I had a tape (I'm assuming it was a show) that I think was an educational show about wild/zoo animals. I remember there being puppets (lions, bears, and whatnot) all positioned in different areas on a rock or mountain and they would sing. There was also cartoon animation and actual filming of live animals as well. I think it was narrated by a woman, but could have also been narrated by a man. Does anyone know what I'm talking about here? I can't remember the name of it to save my life... Thanks in advance!!
Edited by TaylorM98openSome kids movie where a dad has a hit out on him and the kid saves him Film
I only remember two sequences. One is where the main character's dad is driving, but his brakes were cut and hijinks ensue until he crashes safely. The other is where the dad is hiding from some assassins in the wild and trying to suppress a sneeze, but his son (who seems to have become some kind of one with nature hunter or something) is standing behind him and says "geshundheit/bless you".
openSuspense/Thriller from the 40's or 50's? Film
I'm trying to find out the title of an old black-and-white movie about two men plotting the perfect murder, as a purely intellectual exercise — or so it seems. It turns out that one man intends to employ the scenario on the other, in revenge for the death of a woman he loved.
It takes place in an isolated mansion, and at the climax the victim finds himself locked inside, while a recording of his own description of the perfect murder plays over and over. ("He is told he is going to die. He is told why he is going to die..." etc.) Finally, he breaks out and begins driving away at top speed, thrilled at the prospect of escaping and surviving (which was part of the plan — allow the victim hope, then kill him.) The other man appears on the road with a rifle, intending to shoot the victim as he rounds a bend, but has second thoughts and doesn't go through with it. However, the victim loses control of the car and crashes, dying anyway. (There was also a minor plot element about stamp collecting, because the final scene shows the victim's prized rare stamp burning in the car wreck.)
I keep thinking this might be one of Alfred Hitchcock's movies, or maybe an episode from his TV series, but I can't find anything that matches it in his filmography. I also thought the leading man was either Cary Grant or Robert Mitchum, but none of their films match this plot either.
Edited by pwiegleopenThere was this thriller... Fairly certain it was a film, but it could have been a show. Film
... In which a murderer is acting out the events of this mystery writer's book, and they think it's the writer, but it turns out to be someone else, who turns out to be an accomplice of the writer.
At some point a couple is in the woods and the hunter pins the man to a tree with a crossbow, and chases the woman and shoots her with the same.
openbad guy drives off cliff Film
I remember seeing this one scene from a movie on tv before I left or changed the channel. It showed this bad guy in a car about to run over this guy on foot (who I assume was the good guy) but the good guy jumps out of the way in time and the bad guy can't stop in time and drives off the cliff. It was NOT For Your Eyes Only. For one, the scene was during the day
openWhat movie is this referencing? Film
One line in a book I'm reading (Into the Dark, to be exact) mentions "an old movie" that the protagonist apparently saw. Here's the full line:
That sounds too specific to be something that the author just made up. Does anyone know what movie this is a reference to?

I've been trying so hard to remember this vhs tape I used to watch, like, every day when I was a toddler. It was late 90s/early 2000s and the only bit I remember of it was a man that walked over to an easel and started drawing or painting a tree... It was forsure a kids thing. He was telling the viewers how to draw a tree, I'm pretty sure. I know it's not a lot to go on, but it's been bugging me so bad. Thanks!
openAmateur alien encounter film/documentary? Film
Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help. This is going back ten, maybe fifteen years - I remember watching on UK tv late at night a short live action film/documentary set in an isolated house in the US countryside. A bunch of teens and I think younger kids too keep seeing this weird red light coming from outside the house in the woods. It was filmed kind of like "found-footage" IIRC, and was low budget. It gets genuinely scary later on when ultimately the house is approached and entered by a group of "grey" type aliens who look a bit like the ones from Close Encounters crossed with the Star Wars Cantina band. All the kids totally lose their shit (of course) but I can't remember how it ended. I don't think the aliens attacked anyone- it was more that their silent, encroaching presence was just plain creepy. It was cheaply shot, but I was very, very freaked out by it, as at the time, it seemed so eerie and strangely believable. Anyone know what this could be?
opensomeone please tell me, it's been haunting me for years Film

open2 examples for Ominous Pipe Organ Film
This is a weird question, but...
If I recall correctly, the live-action films of both The Smurfs and Dudley Do-Right contain a brief Ominous Pipe Organ tune when the Big Bad is first introduced.
Is this correct? Can someone maybe provide more context, as well as Youtube links to these scenes?
Edited by DrNoPumaopenKIds Nature Documentary Film
I remember this nature documentary for kids that I passed by at a museum once. They were even playing it on a TV. It had a song in it about Spring that had a line that went something along the lines of "check the clock because Spring is here", or something. Oh, and it also gave the animals voices. Gotta keep those kids entertained somehow. I also remember these frogs that told bad puns, to an audience of fish I believe?

A movie where a couple are being held hostage in a run down house in a desert and at one point their captor mentions the band name Lynyrd Skynyrd. Mannequinnes or doll parts may have also been in the house and I think it took place in Arizona or Nevada. The captor also spoke in a southern accent and was kind of a sociopath. At one point, I think the female of the couple tried to attack him. Live action, not animated. I live in America and saw it in 2004 or 2005 at first.

Okay, so I remember watching this movie when i was a kid. I remember it being kind of full of Nightmare Fuel, though in retrospect, what little I can remember makes it seem like it was just plain bad. Anyway... There's something about a kid brings home a videotape he wasn't supposed to, and because he played the tape in the player some bad guy inside the TV (who is trying to steal every shade of every color, for some inexplicable reason) kidnaps his little sibling because the color of their eyes is one of the few shades of color he hasn't collected yet. So the kid has to follow their sibling into the TV to rescue them. And so the kid travels through different channels, and there's like, a sci-fi channel, and a yeti (I think), or something, at one point. And as the kid gets to higher numbered channels eventually they reach channels that are all black and white because the bad guy stole all the color. To be honest, I don't remember liking the movie, I just have this weird memory of it and I want to know what it was because it's bugging me that I can't really remember such a strange movie.
openNo Title Film
There was a film I watched a while ago with a plot similar to Bedtime Stories. There was a father and an estranged son (who I believe were both black), and the father was competing with a guy who claims to be a Native American. He gets the upper hand by interpreting his son's drawings, whose results actually carry out into real life. Near the end, the Native guy figures it out and hypes his son on Red Bull to level the playing field.
Anyone remember this? The actor portraying the "Native American"'s name was Thomas [something].

It's a movie that I only saw a trailer for, in mid-2005 (in a theather), and it has been bugging me since then.
I think it was an American thriller/horror - something that felt a little like The Grudge (but that wasn't it). The things I think I remember about it are: 1. The protagonist was a white woman in her 20s/30s; 2. There were some shots of her swimming in a pool, wearing a swimming cap, goggles and one-piece swimsuit, filmed from underwater; this, probably combined with some other shots I can't remember, gave me the feeling there was some kind of water theme in the movie (which led me to thinking it was Dark Water, but it wasn't) 3. Lots of dramatic music (yeah, like that's gonna be helpful...) 4. Some very dramatic scene of the protagonist running (?) between the cars on some city street (at night?), there might have been a car crash involved (I'm... really not sure what I saw)
I cannot find a single trace of this movie. I watched tons of trailers for films released in that timeframe, none fit it. I've checked literally all even vaguely fitting movies that were screened in my country (Poland; not that it would help a lot) from mid-2005 to mid-2006, and none ring a bell. Though of course, I could have always missed something.
At this point, I'm almost certain that I'm mixing up two different movies (still, I'd like to know, what movies?) or just dreamed the whole thing up (which is not impossible). I'm just giving it a last chance here; maybe someone proves me wrong.

openSeveral obscure B-Movies Film
A French YouTuber named Durendal asked his audience to help him find some obscure B-Movies he saw once in his childhood and would like to use in his Video Review Show Le Cinéma De Durenda
. So if anyone of you tropers knows one of the following movie based on his blurry memories that would be great! You could even directly tweet him the name of the movie, he put an #EngineeredHashtag for each of them.
- #LCDDLeprauchaun: A Horror Film with a leprauchaun/goblin, which include your usual Dwindling Party of teenagers, colorful Environmental Symbolism, a female Afro Asskicker hunting the creature who died while reloading her gun in a haystack, the leprechaun literally going through her stomach Alien-style. Oh, and also the creature takes a giant piss in the heroes' car. (Is it one of the Leprechaun movies?)
- FOUND: Funny Man
- #LCDDFIGE: A young Bare-Fisted Monk who fights some kind of zombies or possessed (I think it might be Chinese Vampires) with a Magical Gesture while screaming "FREEZE!" ("FIGE!" in the French dub) and the monsters stand still.
- FOUND: A Chinese Ghost Story 2
- #LCDDMeurtreAuPetitDej: Some kind of Renaissance aristocrat goes outside to take his breakfast after a night of love and is suddenly killed by a weird drill contraption in the stomach. This one is weeeeeird and even Durendal is not positively sure he didn't make this one up in his damaged brain.

I think it's an espionage thriller and it's The Expendables meets Person of Interest featuring various cast members from a popular children's action-adventure TV franchise that most people know.
