openLooking for a (possibly) educational film! Film
Hello! A friend's mom is looking for this movie, and this is about all we know about it. This movie was about an Inuit brother and sister, probably made in the 70s but the possibility of it being made in the late 60s or early 80s isn't ruled out. The sister was the older of the two and may have been narrating the film, while the brother was about 7 or 8 years old. The film may have focused on them exclusively and there may not have been any other characters.
The siblings seem to have been lost somewhere in the Arctic, and there was a scene of them going fishing for food, but the boy refused to eat the fish because he felt bad for it. The movie was a kid's movie, apparently not a documentary but it may have been educational. It was live-action and in color. It's not apart of the Netsilisk Eskimo series and may have been about more than an hour long. Any help or information is super appreciated! Thank you!

Edited by BawdyPosseopen"Daddy's Little Girl?" (still unsolved) Film
Family film, live action, circa I don’t even know, late 1990s? (A lot of my rediscovered forgotten media is from 97 specifically so maybe then, but no guarantees.) Possibly/probably relatively obscure, so if this rings any bells to anybody let me just say you're awesome. Anyway, the movie is about, or at least features, a girl, 12ish years old, whose father is a comic book artist.
There’s a scene at a birthday(?) party, at a backyard (possibly with a pool?); there’s a live 60s-esque rock band who’ve been hired to perform, singing lyrics along the following lines: “ooh, she’s daddy’s little girl” (trying to search these lyrics only turns up an unrelated song.)
- It might be a cover of "You're a Big Girl Now" by The Stylistics but if it is the songwriter is uncredited on imdb so.???
The other kids there are teasing the girl because of something in the latest issue of her father’s comic book. It’s a vaguely TMNT-esque publication, with similar art style and anthropomorphic animals as the characters, and the Master Splinter-type character has his adopted-daughter-type figure start wearing a training bra now that she’s growing up; all the girl’s friends recognize this as being a thinly veiled stand-in for the girl’s own blossoming into womanhood, the father writing his own relationship with his daughter into the comic.
That's about all I've got. Thanks.
Edited by PretzelsopenKids bedroom is pushed out of apparment, colour 80s/70s TV episode? Film
I saw this when I was very young, hence why my memory is blotchy and it may not be a film, could be a short or a TV episode.
A boys/childs aggressive dad ( or another male figure) chases them into their bedroom, where the kid slams and locks the door on the man's face. The kid hides in their bed, while the man starts pummeling on the door with his fists, shouting and cursing. After a few seconds, the walls of the room start to shake. The room starts to shunt and after a minute, it literally is pushed out of the apartment block where it falls and lands on the street a few floors below. The kid is fine. He gets out of the bed, looks up at the hole where it used to be and then runs away. There are some other people around on the street but they don't interact with the boy, other than looking in confusion at the scene.
This was colour, live action. And likely American ( due to the appartment block but it could be a foreign film with similar architecture). This would have been mid 1990s at the latest I'd think as I was very young when I saw it. I remember being scared of the scene as it was very tense.
EDIT; Edited the title, as from some additional info from a friend, I think this is an episode of a anthology TV series
Edited by ToastyBunsopenGirl’s Childhood Cartoon Film
So I have an extremely vague memory of a cartoon I used to watch as a child in the early 2000’s. It followed three girls who led secret lives where they were fairies or spies or something. It was very similar to Winx Club, W.I.T.C.H. or Totally Spies, but I don’t think it was any of these three. I had a toy wand that was from the show’s brand and it was a pink “fairy”/magic wand that was round in the middle and clear, so you could see little colored balls stacked on top of each other in the wand’s entire handle. I think they might have been removable, but I’m not sure. It was kind of an anime-style show, but not sailor moon. Please help!
openThere was a girl/woman with a pig face in the end Film
I once saw a trailer for a short (?) which its name I don't exactly remember, but it was something along the lines of The Dreamer and the Pit, or The Pendulum and the Dreamer, or The Dreamer and the Pendulum, and so and so. I think it was about a girl that goes to another dimension, or realm, through maybe a secret entrance? Yeah, maybe it was like Coraline, but the other world wasn't a "Reverse" world. Anyway, the thing I vividly remember is that at the end of the trailer there was a shot of a girl slowly turning towards the camera, revealing that she had a pig's face sewn (?) onto her own face.
openObscure 90a VHS Film
I will be amazed if anyone knows what I am talking about. My mum bought me a VHS from a kida soft play thing in what was probably 1992ish. It had a weird name and had a few short films/animations on it. All I can remember is the first 'film' being an animated tiger and the one that really stands out is non animation with a boy and a witch? And he ends up in the witches house in the woods? It used to scare me to death. Thats all I can really remember, very obscure indeed.
the front of the vhs might have had a moon on it. id know it if i saw it. im sure the vhs haa a very strange title
thanks
openTrying to find a film with an island of giant animals Film
I'm trying to find this film that I rented and only bothered to skim through because I found it so boring. It was back in the 2000s, pretty sure it was before the 2010s, and I think it was a film adaptation of The Mysterious Island. I remember it involved a band of characters being stranded on an island that a Mad Scientist had populated with various giant versions of normal animals, and there was a climatic scene where a bunch of soldiers or pirates or something armed with guns were swarmed by various giant animals, including a giant snake and a giant chameleon (or maybe it was a lizard, but I know it did the tongue-grab thing) and many of them were Swallowed Whole on-screen.
This ring any bells for anybody? Might have been the 2005 film for Mysterious Island.
open??? :) Film
Okay... here's what I know! I viewed this movie (or possibly an episode of a show) during the 2000s (2004 to 2012). All that I recall is that there were two main characters being followed throughout the film. One being a boy/guy and the other being a human-sized robot (who would later reveal herself to be a girl/woman after removing the robot head/helmet). I believe they were both on some sort of quest, but that is all that comes to mind. Also, I think that they kissed after he finds out that she's a girl. And it was not a cartoon! Thanks for the help in advance!!! :)
openUnknown Film
It was about this detective lady investigating this writer because all the murders from his novel were coming true. Turns out the writer had a female lover/fan who was actually doing the murders as they were written after publication. I think she got off on it, while he liked the publicity. I don't remember much else, besides one of the victims being a young couple of camping. They were swimming in a creek when the boy goes to pee, but gets pinned to a tree with a crossbow bolt. Then the killer chases the girl for a while before shooting her too. There's a bit at the end when the writer is trying to kill the detective, saying how there's no case if there's no body, which I think are Arc words in the writers novel, but the detective manages to overpower him and kill him.
open“Care for a glass of chicken?” Film
So, this is a black and white screwball comedy, I suspect a lesser known one. There’s a sequence where a few people are in the kitchen, and they discover that their pressure cooker has liquified some poultry. Another character enters the apartment and a character at the kitchen table asks them “would you like a glass of chicken?” Does that ring a bell for anybody?
openOld British (Possibly Medieval) Historical War Drama? Film
I'm looking for an old film that I unfortunately don't have much information on, but I'll do my best to narrow it down: I'm fairly certain it was British, it was from either the 1950's or 60's, and from what I remember some kind war or drama film based on true events, possibly set in the middle ages or some other similar time period. I'm also pretty sure it wasn't a super well-known film, certainly not something that would regularly pop up in "Top 5-15" lists.
I came across this film when I saw it on Turner Classic Movies' schedule late last year. I thought it looked interesting, but I quickly forgot about it afterward. I unfortunately didn't think to add it to my IMDB or Letterboxd watchlists, either. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Note: It also wasn't The Lion in Winter.
openLive action movie/tv show: Wolverine Healing Film
I remember either a live action movie, or a tv show, where a character has immortality and-or wolverine style healing powers; when they tell other characters one of them shoots the first character in the foot. Then the first character screams at them to ask why they would do that, and that it still hurts when they do it.
It is super bugging me that I can remember the scene, but I cannot for the life of me remember the characters or the movie/show; can anyone help please?
openLive action kids movie 90s Film
On VHS from my local library Rented late 90s very early 2000s Absolutely no clue what it could have been called. American or maybe Canadian but there was no distinct accent and in English Kids talk about what they are afraid of. One kid mentions a hairy monster Kid draws the monster with chalk on sidewalk They may have been drawing all of their fears on the neighborhood sidewalk but I’m not positive One kid mentions Brussel sprouts and the video cuts to an old black and white clip of a bunch of people running out of a building down stairs. At the end the monster the kid drew in chalk appears and they are afraid of him. The kids try to avoid him but by the end he ends up being nice. I have looked for years and haven’t come close to finding it.
openLive-action movie (or series?) about an "angel of death"? Film
So, I'm not expecting much from posting this, not because I don't value this wiki, but because my only lead is a single scene, lasting less than 5 minutes that I remember was stuck in my head since childhood, I'm not even sure of the genre, but based on what i remember sounds like a type of low urban fantasy or sci-fi on cable TV either at the end of the 90's or early 00, anyway the scene I remember is this:
A dark and long-haired woman is being threatened by a man with a gun, they are standing at opposite ends of a hallway in a really tall building, the woman has nowhere to escape, he wants to spurr her to do... something, about embracing her nature, and he wants to use her power for his own means, or else he'll kill her, the next part is fuzzy in my brain but I think she remembers... something or someone that triggers something inside her and the next scene, she's suddenly no longer cowering from him, instead she stands up, walking calmly towards him, giving him a taunting speech about how he really thought he could control her power, and while she's talking, he starts shooting at her but she blocks every single bullet, apparently barehanded, punctuating each word, and scarying him shitless, I think when she reaches him, she threatens to kill him, saying something about how death doesn't forget or forgive and he'll get everything he deserves... my brain goes fuzzy again after this and skips to the finale scene, the same woman apparently back to normal, and she's either walking and talking or riding the elevator and talking to another woman who's talking about the follwoing events wrapping the movie (?) ends up mentioning a man who, presumably the antagonist of the previous scene, who committed suicide by jumping off a building and that people heard him say somethign along the lines of "god sending an Angel of Death after him." And the woman smiles knowingly and that's when the credits roll.
As I said... is not much, but here's me hoping the best.
Edited by Revival_Zeroopen"Story of my life... the end" in mysterious girl's journal Film
I remember seeing a scene from whatever this was, it looked low-budget, on US TV about 10-15 years ago. A young adult guy finds a young adult woman passed out on the sidewalk. He is giving normal-guy vibes, she is giving manic pixie dream-girl vibes. He carries her into a house and lays her on the bed, and I remember he takes her boots off. She's asleep. He looks through her bag or something, and finds her journal. He opens it to the first page spread and it's cutely decorated with big lettering saying "The Story of My Life." He turns the page, and it's blank. The next page is also blank. He then flips quickly through the journal, all blank pages to the end, where again it has cutesy lettering and decoration, saying "The End." There was no dialog. I am of the impression it was on PBS and was some kind of indie short film but I'm not sure. I don't think that scene was the entirety of the piece, I think it was the beginning, but that was the only part of it I saw.
openMovie a guide or psychic has eyes painted on her eyelids Film
The heroes (I think at least a man and a woman) are in an underground or area for outcasts, running from left to right across screen from the badguys and/or trying to get to someone/something before the baddies. They ask for directions and are sent to the information booth. This is simply a box with a woman with eyes painted on her eyelids, and after payment, she sways her arms and answers question (with a bit of an accent I think). I think she later was paid to give up the heroes, or was with the bad guys all along. I can picture the information booth woman, and the background, but cannot recall what movie.
Edited by azurecielo52479openSci-fi movie about a pair of twins SOLVED Thank you, Medinoc Film
Saw this movie sometime in the 90s. The plot started with a girl who has a twin brother. She's in an accident which seems severe and is rushed to the hospital where her injuries have almost healed. On the way, the paramedics are confused because it sounds like she has two heartbeats. The doctors question her parents and it turns out the girl has never been sick as a child. When the doctors examine her closer the find that she has two hearts, four lungs, etc.
We eventually learn that before the girl was born, there was an spaceship passing by Earth and on board was the queen of an alien race who was pregnant and about to give birth. The ship was attacked by another, evil, race of aliens and the baby was beamed down to Earth and into the body of pregnant woman, who then gave birth to twins instead of the one son she was expecting.
Some of the evil aliens come to Earth, disguised as very severe looking women in black dresses with umbrellas, but their actual shapes are something closer to bears.
The movie ends with the girl returning to space to take her place as heir to the throne, but she brings her human brother and parents.
Edited by AdaciaopenMovie or tv show Film
Either a movie or tv show and I remember the following details. Two girls were held captive in a van that was on the road. While no one was looking one girl signals the car behind them that they need help. That car gets in front of the van and slows down. This allows the one girl to jump out safely. The second girl jumps out but the car in front returned to regular speed. This causes the second girl to die after jumping out. First girl returns to the body while it’s raining and leaves footprints. Later on the first girls husband I think asks her about that night and she tells him, he thinks it’s her fault.

Hi Tropers! You all are freaking awesome! Happy I found such a cool thing!
Know this MOVIE?
A young man adds up (for his girlfriend) the days remaining in a normal lifetime... Then they go on to live a more free lifestyle.
The movie centers around a sort of underground gang of children, all controlled by an older man. Drugs, homelessness, sewers, petty theft..
In the end the pair are snow-sledding with kayaks in Iceland or someplace like that.
May be European or American... Probably later than 1999, and earlier than 2008.
It wasnt a Countdown or Deathwatch or grim trope at all... More of a "Snap out of my own apathy, stop hanging around losers wsting my time" kind of trope.
It always stuck with me.
Thanks for your help!
PS... If I'm 35, and I can fully enjoy life until im 75, then I only have less than 15000 days to GET ON WITH IT. Merry Christmas. Peace be with us all.
