openWhat is this song? Music
In the episode of Caddicarus on portable Crash Bandicoot games
, there is a bit just under 57 minutes in where he shows a Tony Hawk game on the Nokia N-Gage, and there's a Mondegreen Gag where he interprets the lyrics of the song playing as "PEE IN YOUR COUNTRY". Does anyone know what this song is, and what the actual lyrics are?
openSci-fi music video in the style of French comics Music
About a decade ago, a flatmate showed me a trippy music video for some instrumental electronica piece that looked a lot like French comics, particularly the work of Moebius. Like, pastel colors, bold lines, I think there was a contrast between angular, technical-looking structures (blue maybe?) and alien-looking plants. There may have been a shot of characters riding some kind of flying bikes over water as well.
openCinematic traditional japanese music combined with electronics from early 00's. Music
Around a year ago, I listened to a song that I believe was part of a soundtrack for some sort of experimental video or video spectacle. It's hard to say. The song had traditional Japanese vocals sung by women (a choir, if I remember correctly). Overall, it had a very cinematic vibe to it. The title was probably a combination of Japanese and English letters. Similar artists: Geinoh Yamashirogumi, Susumu Hirasawa and this also very similar to Ghost in the Shell soundtrack.
openHeavy metal music video Music
I remember years ago — in like the late-2000s/early-2010s — watching a Emergency Alert System mock wherein the video that got "interrupted" was this heavy metal music video. All I remember is that there was a shot of a cloaked guy wearing (I think) a top hat pulling some sleeping person's tongue out (in a comical, cartoon-like fashion, I don't remember there being any gore), and there was also shots of the band performing in a space that was lit in red and may have had some "dystopian"-type decorations around. The music being performed was either speed or thrash metal, and the vocals started with a typical metal scream (the rest of it was cut off for the simulated EAS activation).
Does anybody have a clue as to who it was?
Edited by DongwaChanopenClassic rock song with a line like "put your hands all up in the air" Music
There's this classic rock song I'm trying to remember from the 70s or 80s (I think, might be 60s) with a line like "put your hands all up in the air" (or something similar to that, I just know it ends with "Up in the air") and a male singer. I thought it would be an open-shut case, but when I googled it, I couldn't find the song I was looking for, just some other songs with similar lyrics.
openSong from a Nickelodeon promo Music
I was watching a compilation
of old Nickelodeon commercials, and the song in a summer promo ad caught my attention. I tried searching the lyrics I could make out, but I didn't find anything, and given the audio playing over it I probably can't use any music-identifying apps. The link provided should go straight to the part of the compilation that had the song, but just in case it doesn't work, here's the lyrics I could pick up:
- Blue jeans and trampolines are like-
- When you get too close to me, I don't know what to do / it's like boom, like boom, like boom
- It's all because of you
- My friends say I'm crazy / they all try to save me / but there's nothing they can do
openTechno Cover of "All By Myself" Music
One song I remember from my childhood was a Speedy Techno Remake of Eric Carmen's "All By Myself", however, searching terms like that on YouTube takes me to different things, and it's not listed on the trope page I cited. What was this?
openSeries of mystery albums Music
I remember reading about a series of Concept Albums telling mystery stories. I think the context was that a Great Detective had been murdered and posthumously called people to solve her murder. I remember seeing it compared to Umineko, and I'm pretty sure it is Japanese
openTechno song about "The Rave" Music
There is this song I first heard in 1999, (Though it could be older) with some samples where a man was warning people about it and some woman said "I had no idea what it really was", implying her kid went to a rave without her knowing or something.
openObscure soundtracks in CS 1.6 maps Music
I remember two rather obscure soundtracks in custom made CS 1.6 maps. One plays in cs_futurcom from the radio in the kitchen
and the file is musa3.wav or something like that. The other one played in the theatre in de_chinatown (can't find any video though, at least not from 1.6).
Anyone knows these tracks?
openGreen face on album cover Music
I distinctly remember seeing an album (or single, I guess) cover depicting a woman’s face with green skin and blue hair, along with a bunch of other facial oddities. I’d recognize it by sight..
openUniquely sounding song sounds like could be strongly associated with a carnival/fairground Music
Hey, I'd been looking for this for a very long time. Basically, it's this song that, for whatever reason, sounds like it could be strongly associated with a carnival/fairground. It also evoked especially strong feelings of nostalgia, it might be related to a soundtrack of some sort though I'm not sure. I don't know if was a song traditionally/historically played in real life carnivals/fairgrounds but may've simply been themed around one. In my opinion at least, it was also a notably good song. I heard it in ~2008, in a vid related to someones wowTCG loot demonstration. Any help with finding this would be much appreciated as I've never been able to find it anywhere on the internet outside of that vid (now deleted/privated).
I also have a recreation of what I believe it sounded like, but since it's been 15+ years since I've heard it unfortunately it might not even sound like it whatsoever https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMPqrLJgmyE
.
Thank you
openA song in French Music
I'm looking for an upbeat pop song sung in French by a female singer, with a chorus that goes "doo-ah doo-ah doo-ah oh" twice.
Edited by seasaltcaramelcookieopenA chillout song Music
In 2018 I heard a chillout song on the radio that from time to time repeated the words from the song Try Again by Aaliyah ft. Timbaland. The words were these: "Been a long time, shouldn't have left you without a dope beat to step to, step to", the words "step to" repeated fading away. During these words the song was taking a pause, reducing itself to some simple beat, then it was chillout again. As for the music itself, it's hard for me to describe it, I can just say it sounded like chillout, it was instrumental, there were no other words in the song. Now and then there was a meditative "oh" sound, like a human voice, but probably synthesized. I tried to look for it, at first I thought it would be easy, I know the words, but so far I still cannot find it. A very beautiful song I heard when I was far away from home, on a journey, over some local radio station. Does someone recognize this song? Could it be some local mix of the Try Again song? Do radio stations frequently mix things up and then air them?
Edited by KisujjopenJ-Pop Album with Retro '80s Sound and Cover Music
A flash drive died and took my music wish list with it. What was the pop metal/arena rock album I was going to get from CD Japan that had a cover right out of the '80s with the singer posing downtown in punkish clothes? This would've been released somewhere in the 2000s or 2010s, but probably around 2007.
I know, I'm taking a long shot here.
openMusic during IMDB Supercut (Jude Law) Music
Can anyone identify the music that plays during the IMDB Supercut of Jude Law (https://www.imdb.com/video/vi3910713625/?ref_=nmvi_vi_imdb_17)
?
openAlmost-Eurovision singer Music
Can't remember how many contests ago or which country — there was an artist who was supposed to go to Eurovision but got replaced by the powers that be with someone more generic before the competition. I remember people sharing his music around to give him more visibility but that's it. He was a twink if that helps
openYoink - Untitled Song Music
i was looking for a Splatoon song remix when i found a Bandcamp user named "Yoink" who pretty much just posts pitched-down Splatoon music, except there's one song off of "shining future" that isn't from splatoon, and i can't for the life of me recognize it. the weird thing is, it doesn't have a name. it's just called "[untitled song]" on the track listing.
the song is here
for anyone who's curious.
openmusic video by a synth and drum duo where they're playing outside at night Music
This is another one I saw at a dance night where they project music videos on the wall, but the videos aren't actually to the songs that are playing, so I have no idea what the music actually sounds like. Only two musicians are ever shown on screen, one playing a full drum kit, the other playing a keyboard, and I'm not sure who's singing (I don't really remember anyone lip-syncing - maybe the song is instrumental?). The video is set outdoors in some kind of wooded area, and periodically there's arty closeups of bugs and possums and the like. If it helps any, I remember the drummer having long, blondish hair and playing pretty aggressively.

I heard a song in the store today that really caught my ears. I couldn't hear the lyrics particularly well due to the other store ambience, but I could make out the refrain of the song that was, "No, I don't know about you."
It's NOT Chris Lane's song of the same name, I just listened to that song on YouTube to see for myself if it was the same song, but it wasn't. His is definitely a country song, the song I heard sounded more like a very late 1960s/early-to-mid 1970s soft rock song. I've tried Googling, but all the results I turn up point me back to Chris Lane's song.
