openFilm in 19th century Film
I'm looking for the title of a movie set in the 18th century. It could be a TV-made film. I only remember the beginning:
A young woman immigrate to America by boat. It could be Canada or the US. She's hired as a maid in a rich house. The matriarch is very strict and tells her to watch her looks. The woman falls in love with the son of the matriarch, a young aspiring doctor. Not long after, the truth comes out and the matriarch is angry and outraged. The woman and the doctor leave to be together.
The film moves forward a few years later. They both live in a rural town and have a young daughter. The man is the town's doctor. The woman is expecting another child and goes into labor. Unfortunately, she dies along with the child, leaving the doctor and the daughter distraught.
The film moves again few years later. The daughter is now a teen and you can see that the father is still grieving over the loss of his wife. He has a mustache now. A plague hit the town and several people get fever(?) The daughter is sick and remains in bed. She wakes up days later with a lady watching over her. The lady tells her that she's cured, but that her father died from the fever during her long sleep.
Big "NO!" ensues and the scene shift to the daughter running outside to her parents graves.
This was maybe the first half-hour of the film. I didn't watched the rest and regret not having done so. Heck, I didn't even bother reading the title on the TV guide. If anyone can find the title of the film, it will be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
Edited by Nevermore2002openSaw it on tv late at night Film
A group of thieves break into a mansion with an ai butler who insists it's human. They get killed off in a bunch of traps set up through the mansion, one is a number puzzle on the floor where they can only step on prime numbers. The ai bitler is a black man in a futuristic nehru jacket. Hope this is enough info that someone can peg this one down for me, thanks
openAsian woman and Gang invade house party then kidnap little girl who looks like the woman Film
I remember there was a movie my late father would watch, I think I've seen it twice or just once. The opening of the movie starts with a group of family just having a neat potluck or a house warming party (Just enjoying their time together), then outside comes a gang, only the front person there was an Asian woman (Either Japanese or Chinese Idk), She commands her posse to invade the house (which gruesomely involves everyone getting shot down, including a small child that desperately tries to wheel his grandmother away), then at one point the woman shoots the grandma (iconic yet horrifyingly, She shoots her through the head which blasts through her bun). Then They enter the room where a girl that looks like as if She's her daughter is then kidnapped, only one survivor, an Asian(?) man (I don't recall any of the characters names because the audio was low). He crawls away from the house because it got caught in an explosion, then there's this scene where the woman brain washes the little girl for reasons I don't know. Then there's a time skip(????) where ANOTHER woman that looks like the gang leader (I don't know if it's the little girl all grown up or the gang leader herself), She ends up having intercourse with a black guy then kills him in a pool. Then later a Japanese/Chinese boxer was boxing alone, then a chick (same woman from before btw) approaches him, the boxer thinks that's his wife (excusable, maybe He couldn't see her well in the dark), but he sees like dead bodies?? And realizes that's not her, so he fights her then ends up getting killed. There's a funeral for him held by his wife and two children, then a clan of people come in and proceed to disrespect it then slapped the widow for- well because They hate him, then there's this guy from nowhere that proceeded to kill the clan and then leave. There's a last scene from what I could remember, so the guy escaping (Memory's foggy) was like walking in an office space or something... That's all I could bring to the table, there's a reason why I had to explain the whole/half of the plot because I don't know if this is obscure media, I tried finding it before and I'm wondering if anybody in TV tropes might help...
openMovie Where Guys house gets flooded and he ends up in the Jungle Film
I saw this one movie on Facebook about a guy whose house gets caught in a flood and he ends up in the Jungle where he's chased up a tree by a tiger and then eaten by a snake. Does anyone know the name of the movie?
openNo title Film
There was a movie where a man and woman had a conversation that went something like this:
Him: Who's the greatest boxer of all time? Her: Tyson. Him: Mike Tyson. You think Mike Tyson could beat Muhammad Ali? Her: Yeah! Him: Mike Tyson couldn't even *spell* Muhammad Ali! Her: *Muhammad Ali* couldn't spell Muhammad Ali!
openMovie where the guy becomes a teenage (?) dad Film
I remember there's a movie where the guy who is probably a teenager had a one stand stand (I guess) with his friend for the first time who is female and wears glasses and they fight about something the next day after the one night stand. And then the glasses girl got pregnant (despite it was her first time) which cause problems for the guy and the love interest (who has long hair I guess). But I think it ends with a happy ending where the guy becomes a teenage dad soft of. The guy didn't end up with the glasses girl but I think they're in a good terms and he end ups with his love interest.
Btw, it's not Juno. And sorry it was a bit verge.
Edited by BubblepigopenPolar Bear Movie Film
I have a very hazy memory of an animated film about a baby polar bear (who may have been separated from his mother) and a little girl (who may have been Inuit). The villains, i believe, were trawl-fishermen. There was also a fade-to-black scene with some kind of Inuit ritual around a fire
openDrama film about a railroad Film
Years back, I watched this drama film about a group of workers at a railroad. What I remember along the plot is that one day, a woman parks her car on a railroad crossing along the line, while it has activated, and is killed in the resulting collision, with her son surviving by getting out just in time. The engineer on the train that hit the car (IIRC) ends up having to raise her son as a result.
Does anybody know which film I'm talking about?
openBikers in 50s Middle America Film
I saw this on British TV in the 1990s. Film about a group of bikers who visit/pass through a small town in 1950s/1960s USA. It was probably made not long before I saw it. Two scenes stick in my memory: 1) A biker and a local man are in the toilet of a bar, and the local man looks down. Next thing, he is dragging the biker into the bar, and the biker's trousers are down, showing that he has red underpants. 2) The bikers (some of whom are female) are doing some pistol practice outdoors. Their targets are matches stuck into a fence, and their shots graze the match heads and set them on fire. The pistols make huge, echoing BOO Ms when fired.
That's it.
openEvil Clown Movie Film
I'm looking for what I think was an evil clown movie, or at least a supernatural slasher with a clownish killer. Here's what I remember.
Watched: Early 2000s, want to say around 2002-03. This would have been on premium cable, likely Showtime or Cinemax.
Film Age: Guessing from the early-90s to early 2000s. It was low budget, but didn't have the look of an 80s film. Feels like it may have been from Full Moon or Empire Pictures, something related to Charles Band.
The Killer: Clown or clownish. Talked, was quippy in a Freddy Krueger way. Supernatural and used his powers for trickster-ish deaths.
Other Characters: Main character was a white man in his 30s or 40s with a history with the killer. May have been a cop who took him down when the killer was still alive, or a witness who helped put him away? I remember him having a son, probably in his tweens.
Setting: A large abandoned complex, possibly a warehouse or prison.
Scenes that stand out: The killer drowned a man in a bathroom toilet. I remember this man as having a gun, shooting the killer, and the killer revealing it didn't work.
Edited by CountVertigoopenHorror premise mash-up film Film
I remember a movie where the protagonist had to deal with a whole bunch of events that would all be instigating factors for a variety of different horror movie premises. At the end, it turned out that there was one ghost responsible for everything, and the ghost just really liked horror movies and wanted to celebrate them. The twist is kinda similar to Cabin in the Woods, but it was a very different type of movie, since none of the intermediate horror premises ended up playing out. I can’t remember the name of the movie at all. It might have been an episode of a TV show instead?
openAn old show I NEED to know the name of (FOUND) Film
Okay so when I was a really little kid I used to watch this one show and I don’t remember the name but I remember that it was about this little girl with black hair I think and a red dress, with a stuffed animal ( I remember the stuffed animal being sorta kind of evil but I’m probably wrong idk) and I don’t remember what the stuffed animal was, and these two boys would always try to steal the stuffed animal from her or try to be mean to her or just do mischievous things or something and the stuffed animal would become sentient I think and stop the two boys from doing whatever they were going to do, the show was also 2D, not 3D, and I think it kind of had a Charlie Brown style but I really can’t remember, I also sort of remember the intro of the show and I think the name started with a P but I don’t really know and I think it might’ve been an older show, maybe from the 2000s or a bit later but again I don’t know. Istg tho, this is literally driving me insane and I can’t stop thinking about it, I need to know what’s it’s called. I know that this isn’t a lot of information but I hope someone knows!
Edited by Some11111111111openTrying to find a children’s period drama Film
It was a children’s TV drama on Channel 4, possibly a one off although it may have been a serial based on the “Prince and the Pauper”. The two central characters were teenage girls, one was wealthy and the other was poor. It was set in the past, probably 19th century as evident by the period costumes. The poor girl was reduced to stealing in order to live and the rich girl befriended her. I remember a scene where the rich girl, whilst out riding her horse, is taken captive by some criminal con men out in the woods. They tie her up only for the poor girl to come to her rescue. The poor girl is taken captive too but in the end they escape... and that’s about all I can remember!
Edited by Wez4openIndie Werewolf film, early 00’s. Film
So I don’t know if this movie ever even got completed, but I do at least remember the trailer and the tagline being something like: “So you’re a werewolf. What now?” I remember there being a kind of stark website associated with it, with a mostly black background and talking a bit of what the movie was going to be about. Essentially a werewolf story where most of the characters were already werewolves instead of them getting bitten during it. Of the trailer, I just remember a scene where a man is holding a woman and saying, “Please don’t be afraid,” as he was starting to transform.
Does anybody remember this? What was the movie going to be called, and did it ever actually get made?
openWWII Documentary Film
I saw a WWII Documentary on Amazon Prime about 5 years ago. I think it was made in the immediate aftermath of WWII, so likely '45 or '47. I think at least part of it was about the Nuremberg trials (based on the below scene), but it could as easily have been right after the liberation of the Concentration Camps. I have a dim thought that the narrator had a typical Voice of Old News style, but the part that stands out in my mind was that there was footage of..
..the corpses of big name Nazis. These were either those hanged (or who committed suicide) as a result of the trials, or who were killed in combat in the waning days of the war.
I have been unable to find it since, and wonder if the extremely graphic nature of this footage - and possibly more - have caused it to be removed/suppressed.
openKids shrink down and toys come to life Film
Could be a dream, but I remember kids in a playroom, crawling through one of those collapsible tube things that kids have, and shrinking as they went until they were toy-scale. I think they met a fluffy green or blue stuffed animal, and I remember vague geometric shapes. It’s not grandpas magical toys.
openRed Jacket Demon Movie Film
The cover of the movie has three characters standing next to each other and the middle one is wearing a bright red leather jacket. I confuse the title with Donnie Darko, pretty sure it has the same alliteration. There's a scene in the movie where they're in a supermarket talking to a severed head.
openA film about a wrestler Film
At first, the son of a pharmacist wanted to be a wrestler but his dad refused, so the son leaves his home. Many years later, the son returns with his pregnant wife intending to reconcile with his father and open a gym in town. Father and son reconcile, and the son leaves the drugstore for reasons I don't remember. While the son is out, a man enters the drugstore, has an argument with the pharmacist, and kills (or orders a goon to kill) the pharmacist, his wife, and his pregnant daughter-in-law. Later, when the surviving member of that family finds out, he goes to a wrestling arena and fights everyone there.
openRobin Williams movie Film
I'm pretty sure it was Robin Williams. I only remember one scene. Williams character was in a forest, I think he was lost. And he was said that he needed to walk, making sure to keep the sun on his back. And he was also traveling with a woman.

There's this Chinese movie that was released I think before 2014 where a woman (probably the main villain), had a giant glowing spot like a blackhole on her chest, likely summoning it from a spell.
