openCheap knockoff of a Disney movie? Film
Hi! So, one day I decided to take a nap and fall asleep to a movie. I remember scrolling through either tubi or freevee or some free streaming service and found a knockoff of a Disney movie. It was either Sleeping Beauty or Beauty and the Beast or something. I mostly didn't focus on it but something about it caught my attention.
The movie started off with someone walking through a marketplace and buying fruit (maybe apples?) from a dragon, or some kind of non-human creature, at a fruit stand. The creature was kind and sounded like an old woman and I think the man buying from her was the prince of the story. I remember being surprised that the story started off this way instead of starting with the princess. It was also in a sort of anime style and I'm guessing it was made in the 90's. Very much had the feel of a Golden Films/Jetlag Good Times film.
I've been going crazy looking for it! I wish I remembered which exact fairytale it was. I hope someone can help me!!
openWeird movie from my childhood Film
It was a 3d animated movie. It featured a baby chicken or duck with some weird magic powers, and they were in a library at one point (?) other major characters included a dog and a turtle/tortoise. There was a hot air balloon and a windmill that caught fire I think. The main characters were arrested at some point (I think for the windmill fire?) it might have been some sort of metaphor for climate change (???) Sorry for few details but this has haunted me for a while and yet I remember little. I know it’s not just a fever dream cause my brother watched it too, and I saw someone on reddit ask the same question (to no avail)
openTv or short film? about a girl suffering with psychosis Film
Need help finding this media about psychosis. I caught some of this on tv once a couple years ago, I'm not sure if it was some tv episode or a film but it seemed like a short film. It had a girl/young woman as the main character suffering from what seemed to be a psychotic episode however others didn't know what was wrong with her. Some scenes I remember in particular were on where she goes to an art exhibition and does a erratic speech of which people thought was part of the exhibit and clapped with others and friends praising her for the performance. Others include her seeing a man in someone's back garden who she thought was attractive, I believe he was just doing some maintenance when she flashes him with her breasts with an intense stare on her face, this makes him laugh. She later pursues the same guy and goes out with him late at night by I think the sea? its dark and he reveals that he has a prosthetic leg, she says some things about it that are delusional and strange and it really offends him and he leaves her behind alone until friends and family find her looking mess. Throughout the film (or episode) she also is shown to send strange texts and messages on her phone.
I can't find this anywhere and I remember it really resonating with me as someone who has experienced psychosis finding it a good and accurate portrayal. This would be perfect for my current university essay on psychosis and mental health portrayed within media.
openhelp finding a kids show? Film
it was this weird animated show
ok, so it was a brother and a sister living together. they were young. the sister was older. they were always in bear costumes, boy in blue and girl in pink. they lived in a tree I think. like it was a giant, hollowed out tree that was now a house. no adults were ever present. anyways, they had a slide that went from their bedrooms to the living room. i remember that whenever they would go down the slide, either the girl would crash into the boy or the other way around.
i remember that in one episode, they were playing a chalk game, where it was basically hide and seek, but the hider had to draw arrows and clues to where they were hiding.
i remember that this was on hulu, but checking recently i couldn't find it.
I'm almost positive this was made in the 2010's. it was definitely made before 2017.
Edited by helpmeplease11111openGiant Aliens Film
So, this is a movie I saw years upon years ago, and details are fuzzy, but I can remember bits and pieces. The movie took place either in like southern-North America (Nevada, Texas, Mexico, some region in there) OR somewhere in South America. The movie followed a man and a woman traveling across some region where alien monsters had landed and begun living in - at least I think they were alien. The monsters are contained within the region and have not been able to spread outside it. I think the man is being paid to take the woman to somewhere on the other side of the region? And the movie follows them trying to avoid them. A big scene which stood out to me was one near the end, where the man is standing outside like a ruined gas station waiting on something and he notices two monsters floating towards him from different directions. I think he gets ready to leave or something, but at the last second he realizes the monsters weren't heading for him but for each other. They show affection to one another and leave. The man realizes the monsters aren't evil or anything, they're just animals - and that whatever group has been depicting them as evil or whatever is wrong. The monsters looked kind of like... jellyfish? Actually, look up a "Netch" from Skyrim - they look like them, but bigger, darker coloring, and bio-luminescent (I think). They glow blue I think. I remember the movie may have had some kind of name like "Quarantine" or something along those lines? I think I remember the title being on like a radioactive sign with barbed wire in images? I saw this movie before, I want to say... 2018? I know it was most likely made in the 2000's or 2010's is what I mean to say. Hopefully someone knows this movie or has an idea.
openSome film about a girl and her father and it had this candle Film
There was this film I saw about this girl and probably something about her father, and it often showed a candle. The last time the father (I think it was the father) is shown, there’s this white wooden structure (I don’t know what they’re called) and at that point it’s falling apart, and the father is killed. Then I think the candle is last shown fully melted saying someone died in the deepest part of the earth.
Edited by Kramirez0113openTown held hostage by mercenaries or criminals Film
A Die Hard -esque American live-action film from c.2019-2021 about a town held hostage by these mercenaries or criminals (I forgotten which) in their town hall. The lead protagonist is the town’s Sheriff, who intends to take back his town one villain at a time.
Can anyone here please help me figure out what this film is called as it’s starting to really puzzle me…?
openChildren's musical about teeth Film
I've only seen an advertisement for this, but bear with me.
A musical film about a village of teeth and the importance of toothbrushing. The actors wore full body costumes with animatronic faces, creating a very uncanny look.
It was probably from the 90s or late eighties, because I saw the advert on a VHS when I was a child. I think there was an advert for woody woodpecker on the same VHS, so it might have been from Universal studios?
openRobbers wearing fox and hare masks Film
I believe that I saw this movie is either late 90’s /early 2000’s (basically around the turn of the millennium)!!
All I remember about this movie is that these 2 guys wearing fox and hare kid’s facial masks hold a security depot and its staff hostage. They force their way in by using a hapless pizza delivery boy in order to trick the security staff inside into opening the door. Their hostages include the aforementioned hapless delivery boy, along with the staff, which include 2 security guards, a woman (possibly a secretary) and an auto mechanic (who wears a red hat and looks similar to the actor, Roy Schneider). I remember that the security depot also has a CCTV room, where the security guards monitor the various buildings around town.
openOld kids' summer movie Film
I was watching a compilation of old Kids WB commercials and I remember seeing an ad for some kids movie about a group of boys doing stuff during summer. I don't remember the title (I'm like...50, 60% sure it included the word "summer", but I might be wrong), but I do remember looking it up on IM Db and discovering more than one review complaining about it playing ad nauseum in the kids' area of a furniture store chain.
open2000s comedy - "nerdy" character has a crush on Seven of Nine, who is depicted oddly Film
I remember reading a recap / review of a comedy film I think was from some time in the 2000s, and given the snarky nature of the site, probably a flop with poor critical reviews. A minor character is depicted as a nerd with Perverse Sexual Lust for Seven Of Nine, which becomes plot relevant somehow - but the strange thing that the recap points out is that the character is mentioned by name in dialogue more than once, but at one point they cut to a supposed picture of her that the nerd character is ogling and it's just a stock photo of a generic Green-Skinned Space Babe: the review didn't speculate on an explanation, but I imagine the filmmakers couldn't get the rights to the character and/or actress' likeness, and it was either too late to rewrite or re-dub dialogue to refer to some fictional, in-universe science fiction character instead, or they just didn't care enough to do so.
Edited by MikeKopenVampire(?) con movie? Film
I just remembered a poster I saw for a film screening at a convention years ago. The poster depicted a voxel-style (I think) boy and girl holding each other's hands, except the boy had also torn the girl's heart out of her chest and was feasting on it with what looked like vampire fangs. I think I might've looked it up later and the description said it also took place at a con, but I'm not sure.
openAnyone know what movie this is referring to (if any) Film
Ok, this is a weird query, but in the song "Break My Heart" by ATB, there's a line where the singers says she feels "Like a ghost in an old hotel", which sounds like its a Shout-Out to some movie (or maybe a book?) Can someone tell me what movie/book/whatever has a ghost in an old hotel?
openRare Sci-Fi with sexless villain Film
In the 80s or 90s I saw a movie on cable TV in Russia, I guess it was pirated like all movies shown on that channel. I don't know the name, may be I saw it not from the start. The movie is a science fiction. The main character is a brunette, his face I remember like similar to Scott Bakula, but I am not sure after these years. The plot is somehow connected with the human organs trade. Some corporations and conspiracies are involved. The main character's eye was apparently stolen, and he spends part of the movie wearing an eye patch or something like this. I also remember that the main villain was sexless (I mean this character had no sexual characteristics at all since his birth, though played by the male actor) and was obsessed with the idea of trying sex, for which he implanted transmitters in the brains of the main character and some girl, which allowed him to experience their feelings. I remember a scene where this sexless man stuck some kind of device down his throat to distort his voice, so that it would become low. It looked like a transparent tube, seemingly twisted into a spiral. There is an assumption that the film is not American, maybe socialist camp, but not for sure. I searched this film in many places for many years, but failed. May be somebody has any clue how to find it? Sorry for possible mistakes, English is not native for me.
openA female dentist vomiting Film
I'm looking a movie that has released from 2000-2010s where a female dentist vomits on her surgical mask while doing a dentist work, so any clues that what was a movie's title where that happened?
openDrived to murder to save his child Film
A man is extorsioned into killing a candidate, or they will kill his daughter
openBurning head Film
Action movie set in a large American park on fire, where the villain, who seemed dead, returns to harm the protagonists, and eventually dies with his head burned by the fire.

Could also be a live-action TV series. A character gives advice to another character (who is some sort of filmmaker) that their cast should fake a helicopter meet-cute with the leading man on a rooftop as a publicity stunt. It’s framed as comedic and over-the-top but gets good ratings nevertheless.
