openSpecific Sentai series
There's a specific trope entry I remembered recently that I'd like to find again. I'm pretty sure it's from a Super Sentai series (maybe from Power Rangers, or possibly another tokusatsu, but I'm pretty sure it's a Sentai), but I can't recall which one.
The entry describes how the Big Bad goes away for most of an episode (or maybe goes dormant for a time). While they're gone, one of their henchmen does some thinking and realizes that the regular strategy — sending one monster at a time — hasn't worked. They decide to use a new strategy, sending multiple monster-of-the-days at a time in such a way that the heroes are badly overwhelmed and on the verge of defeat. Then the lead villain returns, rebukes their henchman for doing this, and goes back to the standard and ineffective strategy of sending only one monster at a time... which, naturally, continues to be ineffective.
Does anyone remember what series this was from?
Until next time...

openNovel: Cyberpunk Virtual Reality Game where people go into comas Literature
I vaguely remember reading a cyberpunk type book as a kid that involved VR games that caused people to die or go into a coma, the protagonists were young, possibly siblings, and were trying to figure out why while on the run.
For whatever reason two particular bits stick in my mind: a detective getting out of a car in acid rain, and the protagonists inside a vr game grabbing dirt and a bug crawling out, with a comment on the level of detail put into the game world.
Edited by CorsacopenYA novel (I think) about a thief hired in Roman(ish) Times Literature
The other story that popped into my head recently.
Read it sometime when I was a kid/younger teen so would have been published mid 00s at the latest.
A novel that involved a thief, or someone recruited into being a thief, in either a more historical roman era setting or a more mundane fantasy setting that was similar.
I am pretty sure the protagonist was initially taken prisoner by another character, the ringleader type, in order to use him to steal the whatever-it-was. May have been a scene involving the protagonist trying to do something/escape while his hands were tied.
I recall there were one or two others, possibly soldiers or otherwise more experienced tyoes that made up the group, and I recall they had to travel, with some description of the roman style road.
A particular scene and line come to mind about building a fire, where one of the soldier/tougher characters says something to the effect of "build your fire a house and it will live in it, build it a funeral mound and it will die"
Don't recall the precise wording, just juxtaposition of different ways of stacking wood.
open70s or 80s TV show: flying hubcap mistaken for UFO Live Action TV
IIRC, I saw an episode of a late 70s/early 80s primetime TV series (e.g. C Hi Ps or similar) where a car accident happens near a steep hillside. A nearby witness sees a silver disc flying through the air at the same time as the accident, and tries to convince authorities that this UFO/flying saucer is related to the accident. When examining the accident location, it was discovered that this mysterious object was the car's hubcap and not a UFO.
In trying to identify this show, I'd guess it was C Hi PS, but I cannot figure out which episode. If it's another show entirely (or even a primetime movie?) I have no idea.
openBad monkey movie Film
I found myself on a page for a bad CGI Movie in which the main character is a monkey who was born really small and is more evolved than the others. He is the only one who wears pants because his voice actor is a comedian who puts his hands in his pants.
The comedy relief is a proboscis monkey.
openEnglish dating sim/romance visual novel about instruments turning human Videogame
Getting to the point:
- English-language
- In development around September 2017
- Either a romantic visual novel or a dating simulator
- At least six romanceable characters
- Characters were musical instruments who could turn or ended up turned into humans
- One character was a red guitar or bass who was either never shown as human or simply did not turn human
Edited by jellygelly13openStory where a male hero rapes a female villain
There was some story, I can't remember if it was a novel or a movie or some other type of media. The key thing that sticks out to me was that at some point in the story, possibly the end, the male hero rapes a female villain. I can't remember if the story portrays it as triumphant or more negative and visceral, but the key thing I remember is that the victim was a female villain and the perpetrator was a male hero.
openScooby and Scrappy Doo pushing Western Animation
There’s this meme I saw that had a still of Scooby and Scrappy doo seemingly pushing on a car. What episode is it from? https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/54523405_972181219653985_1370224679163265024_n.jpg?_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=CNkZJsDzDQ8Q7kNvwHOIlkE&_nc_oc=AdlKwEsiCzXGeF4d0shL7OEYSV2aTki7Ra_hluIRAcKpvtzTsUsclnoWHBsGEAaXyqzbO75Wv_tdTMEIwGpRXkZo&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-lga3-1.xx&_nc_gid=KGt-7Q9yA1Axj13I3eUdEQ&oh=00_AfHMKTtdDDePMpd5fkGJekPlo3-ktffE6spUsbf2Yd7IlA&oe=6832D7A0
openFilm that has an older man explaining to a younger boy about London Bridge Film
There was a film I remember but I can't find, I have no idea what the rest of the film was about
But there was a scene where an older man was explaining to a male child why the bridge he was standing on, had numbers on every brick. The bridge was London Bridge after it was moved. Thank you.
openvampire as special forces weapon Web Original
hi folks, i'm looking for a series of original fiction short stories, that i found posted on a forum i now can't remember the name of and read some time around 2015-18. as i recall, it was about an army medic who was violently turned into a vampire, and was then used as a living weapon by the US military and placed with a special forces strike team. the vampire was sentient but very much treated like an animal by the military — i seem to remember a collar or muzzle being involved? — and most of the stories were about his relationships with the strike team members. pretty sure it was explicit, or at least on the boundary. any help very much appreciated before i drive myself insane trying to search for it. thanks!
openToxic waste in lake, a boy ate a dead fish Live Action TV
I remember something about a Corrupt Corporate Executive posing as a recycling service for toxic waste but actually hiding the waste in a cave with a camouflaged entrance. Unfortunately the cave is connected to a nearby lake, and an accident causes some waste to be dumped into it.
Alas, no idea about the name, nor any name in the series. But given the French TV channel that showed it and the years (about the same as Mirror, Mirror, The Girl from Tomorrow etc), it has a high chance of being Australian / New Zealish.
I also remember some more precise events: At one point a boy falls ill after eating a fish from the poisoned lake; and near the end of the series the villains attempt to blow up the cave, unaware that two good guys sneaked inside. They disable some of the explosives, which the villain notices after hearing too few explosions.
Edited by MedinocopenIsekae variant works Anime
I'm looking for two "Reincarnate in Another World/Trapped in Another World" stories:
- The focal character is just a normal person who's lived in that world the entire time, while the "Isekai'd" person is a completely different person.
- An inverse of the usual format where someone from a fantasy world winds up in a modern one.note Before anyone mentions it, I know about Gate, but that's not what I'm looking for because most of the plot is basically "the usual format" writ large; with a literal army - and all that entails - being brought to the fantasy world.
openBlue robot woman Anime
I have this gif of a blonde-haired, blue-skinned gynoid in a torn pink dress glitching out as she's got laser sights trained on her. Then she springs a leak out of wrecked part of her. Looks like it could be from the early 1990s. Any ideas?
openPost-apocalypse sci-fi movie where men hunt virgins Film
I don't remember where I saw this, but I think it was a 1990s or 2000s film, possibly 1980s. I must have seen this over ten years ago. It looked like a very low-budget B-movie. The costumes looked very cheap and the acting was terrible. The introduction showed a post-apocalypse kind of society where men hunted down virgin women. The women were stereotypically dressed in all white costumes. The men were hunting the virgins to use them for trading (for slavery or forced marriage). I remember a man chasing a woman (dressed in white) through a desert looking area with dirt and boulders. She was desperately trying to escape him. He caught up to her and wanted to rape her instead of capturing her, which would have ruined her value since she would no longer be a virgin.
I only remember watching a few minutes of the beginning and I thought it looked like a terrible film so I stopped watching. Since then I have grown a certain appreciation for low-budget B-movies so I'm interested to know what it is. It is possible that it was one of those "skin flicks" they used to show on Cinemax, Showtime, and HBO late at night in the 1990s and 2000s, but really I could have seen this anywhere.
openBoth Aliens and Fantasy Creatures.
All I know that Superhero Universes have both Aliens and Fantasy Creatures together what other series have both beside Superheroes?
openZelda Webcomic about the Kakariko well. Webcomic
I remember reading a webcomic that was about the well in kakariko village in the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It had Link ranting about how there are rotting zombies and other horrifying things in the village's water supply. The cucoo lady stares at Link as he runs away, then bites the head off a cucoo. I thought it was Awkward Zombie, but I can't find it, and Google being the ai cesspool it is not, googling it didn't help.

Its a scene where someone is injured with like a gash on their arm or leg. They are approached by someone who casts a spell that grows leaves over the wound. I think the injured person freaks out, startling the spell caster. But when they check the wound again the leaves wilt and underneath the wound is fully healed.
I looked at Heal It with Nature but it didn't jog my memory. It could be from The Owl House or The Legend of Vox Machina but it could well be something else?
