openComedy cartoon about replacement hero Western Animation
I tried Googling it, I've already checked the parody and replacement tropes and even the lists of shows aired on Fox Kids/Jetix, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network, but nothing looks familiar.
It goes like this: there's a dude who has a business as a replacement hero. For example, if a hero falls ill or gets stuck in a traffic jam, unable to defeat the Big Bad or save the princess or something in time, they call this dude so he could take their place. And every episode is a parody of some well-known movie. I remember Star Wars, Terminator 2, Karate Kid (I think?), and Invisible Man. Each episode had the replacement dude fight the Big Bad (who always looked very Joker-esque with really white skin and green hair and almost triangular face with narrow chin) and try to score with the love interest (who also always looked the same - not the same character but as if she was played by the same actress). The dude was kinda inept though he did always (usually?) defeat the bad guy and he usually had the abilities of whoever he was replacing (like as the Terminator he had a robot hand that he always managed to lose), but he never managed to get the girl, and even if she liked him, the original hero returned just in time to take his place. And I sort-of remember how in the Invisible Man episode (I think?) there was this gun that could make people invisible, but in the end it malfunctioned and the bad guy had some spots on him turned invisible, so he kinda looked like a cheese with a ton of holes. And in the Star Wars episode I think I remember Darth Vader slicing bread with his lightsaber, and the 'I am your father' scene went something like 'I'm your grandfarther's nephew's sister's cousin twice removed'.
I remember so many details but can't find it anywhere. It's been driving me nuts.
Edited by AndarielopenCavemen Western Animation
Late 90s toon that had cavemen in it. All I remember is two of them having a belching contest. It was on a network I never watched, so most likely Fox or Kids WB. It wasn't "Cro". I'd put the date around 1997-98.
openEpisode of a cartoon with villains performing a concert with deadly music Western Animation
This was an animated episode that I saw on television some time between 1995 and 2000. There was a group of women, or women-like creatures, and they were holding a concert as part of their evil plot. I remember electric guitars and amplifiers. I don't remember if they were singing or not. I just remember this shot where they're playing their music and the protagonists are desperately clutching their ears to try to block out the sound (I forget if it's because the sound was deadly or mind controlling), and there's a close-up shot of the protagonists twisting about in agony as they grip their heads. For some reason, I keep thinking it's an episode of Gargoyles, but if it, I'm not seeing it. None of the entries on the Enthralling Siren, Mind-Control Music, and Musical Assassin pages are ringing a bell.
openCartoon Episode with Mind-Control Masks Western Animation
Animated episode shown on television at some point between 1995 and 2000. I remember the antagonists being a tribe of people all wearing Tiki masks. The scene I remember is the tribe surrounding the protagonists and then forcibly putting a Tiki mask onto the face of one of the protagonists, which then caused him to mindlessly turn around and advance on his former friends. None of the examples listed on the Hypno Trinket, Mind-Control Device, Evil Mask, and Mask of Power pages are ringing a bell.
openThe show about a spy family? Western Animation
Anyone remember a show about a spy family? The only things I can remember about it were that there was a mom, dad, and two kids, the show had a lineless style, and there was an episode about the kids wanting to throw a party, they get captured by the villain and his henchman, and when the parents call, the villain and henchman act like they're partygoers. It aired on Nick, I think.
openBoy with robot arm Western Animation
I used to watch when I was little. It was about a boy with black short hair who had these robot cell things in his blood that would allow his arm to change into stuff. His sidekick was a talking monkey who would shoot guns and he had a secret agent man watch over him. They would fight bug like monsters while he would search for his father.
openFind a cartoon Western Animation
Please help me find a cartoon: The heroine transform by a pair of shoe. Her costume have a big question mark on it. Anybody know that?
openCartoon that was on an English channel, maybe Citv or cartoon network? Western Animation
The intro always started out on how a good guy turned bad and joined the baddies. I don't even really remember how the fighting was done. Maybe swords? It was kind of futuristic as in the main character basically lived in a flying ship thing with his friends. It was blue vs reds if i remember correctly. Sorry this is so vague
open(SOLVED) Weird song contest Western Animation
Hi,
Many years ago, I once stumbled on an animated short that was probably part of a series. In it, some purple or mauve creature announced the entrants and eventual result of a song contest. IIRC, there were only two entries:
- The first constestant was an ant colony, with an elaborate song I didn't understand because it was in what I assumed to be unsubbed English, which I was too young and too French to get.
- Their opponent was a Dastardly Whiplash type whose "song" was just his Evil Laugh put to music: The only lyrics were "Nyah-hah-hah".
openLate Night Cartoon, Old School Animation, 90s or early 2000 about people on the moon Western Animation
I don't remember the exact years, but it was most likely late 90s, early 2000s. It was for "older audiences" thus only on after midnight. I don't even remember the network it was on, but I do remember it was similar animation to John Callaghan's Quads. I don't remember the premise of the show, expect one episode: there were a small group of people on the moon and, in the one episode I remember, the scientist character (old man) was trying to communicate with his beloved pet fish and makes a mind-reading machine. The protagonist is like the modern Fry from Futurama and in this episode he hears about the dark side of the moon is creeping towards a spot he was suppose to meet the girl love interest who is waiting for him(?). There's a few other side characters, but mainly those three were the focal points. ... The more I describe it the more its starting to sound like Futurama, but it wasn't. I can clearly and distinctly see that stupid pet fish with the mind-reading machine and the image on the computer screen is a farm animal (cow? sheep? duck?).
Thanks in advance for reading that. I've been trying to hunt down this show for YEARS because I actually think I imagined the whole thing....
- UPDATE: after MUCH searching: the TV show is "Captain Star" on Teletoon, 1997-1998! OMG! I'm not insane! I'm not crazy! This has haunted me for YEARS!!!!!!!*
openForgotten children's show :( Western Animation
It was a western animation show on VHS released before 90's with some kind of dinosaur swimming in a river with his friend(s) on a boat. I think the dinosaur was kind of an orange friendly lochness monster. He and his friend were like Scooby Doo and Shaggy.
This cartoon was pretty old at this time, it's style was between "Flintstones" and the first looney toons. Any ideas guys ? :) Thank you in advance !
openANIMATED CAR MOVIE OR TV SHOW Western Animation
I remember seeing this TV show or movie in 2004-06, in the U.S., can't remember which channel. It was animated and similar to Cars, but was not that. The animation was similar to Blaze and the Monster Machines. I remember the plot, a nice "male" car was racing with fellow cars, and the other cars were rude and impeded him to win. Near the end, he drove into I think a tar pit and cried for help, the other cars heard him, stopped at first deciding to help him or to finish, they all decided to go help him. It was a moral episode or movie. Bumper to bumper, they helped pull him out. That's all I remember. I asked this on IMDB, someone suggested Roary the Racing Car, another A Car's Life Sparkys Big Adventure (2006). Does this seem familiar to anyone? Please help, thanks!
openShow about a magazine Western Animation
Both me and my sister remember a TV show about a boy who was somehow pulled into a magazine, and a girl from the magazine world that wanted to leave it and go into the real world. Does anyone know what the show was called?
openstuck on an island cartoon somewhere between 2000 and 2008 Western Animation
Okay, so there was this show where there were some sibling stuck on an island. the sister was definitely a brown canine, and the brother was possibly a dog, but was a total idiot. in the intro, I think there was something about juggling coconuts...? Brandy and Mr. Whiskers! That was it! Thanks!
Edited by GeekyGoatopenSHORT OF CARTOON NETWORK Western Animation
When I was a child, I used to watch this shorts between ads in cartoon network. I remember there was one about a kid in school, his teacher was teaching about the Pythagoras theorem, the kid had a friend that was a pencil. As far as I remember, the kid and the pencil travel around dimensions, I think the reason was because the teacher needed a glass of water, or something like that.
A friend told me that is the same director as KND and Chimpy the monkey, but I am not sure about that info. Please help me! I am gonna die!
openAlternate theme song to Baby Looney Tunes Western Animation
I remember that when I saw Baby Looney Tunes for the first time the show had two theme songs back to back. First this one I can't find, then the usual one we all know.
This first theme song was animated in a completely different style than the show, like the characters had this lucid effect like the Baby Bugs on top of the show logo. The music was completely instrumental and was some kind of carillon tune, and the visuals had the main characters playing in the nursery. But the thing I remember most was that, along with the usual characters it featured Baby Wile E. Coyote and Baby Marvin. The former was shown sleeping and dreaming about chasing Baby Road Runner (and failing), while the latter was giving a bath to Baby K9.
openAnimated Show with a weird game Western Animation
I'm trying to remember the name of a show where these kids played some weird card game, but the way to get cards was to enter this virtual reality world where all the monsters and types of cards had to have their pictures taken in a certain way in order to use the card. There was also two ways to play the game, with just cards, and where you would take control of your chosen monster in a virtual battle, and the characters would turn into the monster that they're using.
openit's driving me insane Western Animation
I'm trying to remember a show or movie, it had a giant lady superhero shows up some ninja with wooden arms that can turn into branches. The main character takes notes on all heroes to study up for hero school I think. He finds out he has no powers which is rare, his mom has the ability to pull things towards her like a weak telekinesis. The school bully appears to have fire/combustion ability through his hands. Mc gets saved by a hero he worships, and as the hero goes to fly away but mc is holding onto his leg. That's all the deets I recall at this time, help me. Please and thank you
Edited by WraithUnbornopenAnimated Show about a guy named zeke who was a robot underneath his skin Western Animation
