openPowerpuff Girls fanfic Web Original
Does anyone know what PPG fanfic this Middle Child Syndrome example references?
- One The Powerpuff Girls Fanfic offered an alternate interpretation. Rather than making Blossom the Eldest, she was the Middle Child, and her acting more mature and claiming of the leader role was her attempt to compensate for her fear of being overlooked. Buttercup was the Youngest, and her extreme attitude was her way of rebelling against any notion of labeling her the 'baby', and Bubbles was the Eldest and simply didn't care about whatever role she 'should' fill, given that all the girls were extremely young anyway and her sisters were more willing to fill those stereotypes.
openDog-Training Youtuber Web Original
Does anyone know this Youtuber?
He's a dog Youtuber who focuses on dog-friendly training. I know he's made several videos complaining about choke collars, dominance~based training, Cesar Milan, etc. I think he's around 20-24, white, and is either American or Canadian.
openHorror video, 3d, black and white Web Original
Some years ago I came across a part of an animation within someone's signature on same random forum. It seemed compelling so I tracked it down. It was a 3d animation, done in black and white, realistic, featuring some sort of hellish chaotic realm where bodies were being infected with darkness and twitched/spasamed, spinning their heads in circles, bent in unnatural shapes, you name it. I THINK they also conglamerated in huge shapes, but I'm not certain. I believe it also had a calmer white part of that realm where nothing moved which was attacked? infected? by the black influence. I don't recall if the video had any particular music in the background. The animation was pretty lifelike, aside from the weird movement and color palette, but that was some years ago so it might seem less so nowdays.
The video left quite the impact on me, but my pc had suffered a critical hd failure and I can't get to either the bookmark or the part of the video from that signature. I seem to remember that the author of the video had made a facebook page for it and sold dvd with high resolution video, but I also can't track it down. Pretty certain the author/authors didn't have an anglophone name or origins if that helps...
I will be VERY grateful if anyone can help me with this, I tried multiple times to track it down, bit no luck.
Thank you
openhungry girlfriend Web Original
This was an animated web video (I presume Flash) from the late 90s. It was a dude and his girlfriend, arguing about where to go for food. The girlfriend kept saying "I'm hungry" but didn't want to go to any of the food emporiums suggested by the dude. The only line I remember is "Ewwww I don't want Backyard Burger."
open1990s/2000s Sonic the Hedgehog fic Web Original
There's an entry on fanon that says this:
- One relatively decent self-insert character in Sonic SatAM fanfic, Bookshire Draftwood the elderly raccoon doctor, grew so popular and filled such an obvious hole in the cast that he actually became part of fanon.
Does anyone know which fic this is?
openMy Little Pony YouTube Poop Web Original
I don't remember much about it, but what I DO remember is that there was a part where Cheerilee is called a "whore" (followed by fan art of Cheerile in lingerie appearing) and all of the good stallions are taken. While a picture of Heihachi is digitally superimposed onto one of the ponies' heads.
Edited by superboy313openSonic Fan Animation (Solved!) Web Original
Found on Youtube a long time ago, probably around 2011-2013. It was a four-part animation about Sonic fighting a white hedgehog (whose name I believe was Nero? it was certainly not Silver), and having to continually power up in order to eventually beat him, which included eventually fusing with Shadow into "Shadic". The white hedgehog also kills Tails at one point I believe.
The animation and voice quality were both low, though I don't remember specifics about the style. I'd really like to find it again to see if it even exists anymore. Since I have such vivid memories of it, I can't imagine it being something I made up.
TYIA!

I remember reading a blog whose main topic is stationery reviews and study-related matter/journaling. It's called something like "Ahnthology" (yes, with that spelling I think, "Ahn" being part of the author's name) but I can't quite find it and Google searches think I'm looking for the original, non-punny word. I remember the author telling about 2019 resolutions and an insight about categorization in pencil cases?
Edited by ActualBeatriceopenVampiresque original work with "A Pale Horse" in its title Web Original
North Korea launches nukes at several world cities; from the irradiated zones comes a horde of vampire-like people, spreading through the world. The story is told from the perspective of a US Army officer who eventually becomes a vampire himself after being wounded in a major battle.
It was hosted on some kind of message board as a downloadable file, but I lost the file (and website) when my last computer got fried in a power surge.
Edited by Luke_The_GreatopenWebsite analyzing X-Files fanon? Web Original
It was this website that I thought was called Infrequently Asked Questions but I've googled that name heaps of times and not found anything relevant. It was taking a bunch of things that come up in Fan Works related to The X-Files and seeing if they gelled with Canon. Examples of text:
Q: Mulder home-nurses Scully when she's unwell?': A: Unlikely. Scully usually nurses herself unless it's serious enough to warrant a hospital visit.'' Q: Mulder phones Scully in the middle of the night? A: This is not likely to be a regular occurrence. When Muldre phoned Scully at nighttime in one episode, she seemed surprised that he was calling. Q: Mulder is a terrible shot?: ''A: Actually, Mulder is a great shot. He sleeps with his gun under his pillow, but then again, he wouldn't be Muldre if he didn't do that.\
openA horror podcast Web Original
I found it on this site but cant find it again. It was about a huge bridge over the Pacific ocean and the broadcast coming from one of the outposts along the bridge, there was also a running gag about a Noodle Incident that happened at some kind of water park or oceanarium.
openCreate a superhero and vote on battles Web Original
This was a website I used to go on where you could create a superhero/villain with some sort of point buy system and write a backstory/powerset. These would then be matched up with other characters and users would vote on the best one. The only example I can remember is an infinite sided dice that warped reality based on what it rolled as it moved around.
openWeb series set in the future Web Original
I don’t remember what Youtube channel this was, but they had a set of videos that took place about 20 years in the future. I remember each video perfectly.
In one of them, you have to prove you’ve done something useful for society by the time you turn 30. The main character is a slacker who has done nothing while his twin sister has learned how to successfully transplant someone’s severed head. He manages to convince the life auditor to pass him by arguing that society needs losers and slackers in order to advance, because without anything to fix people never evolve and learn.
In another, a man is about to propose to his girlfriend but decides to download an app that will tell you your future based on a few simple questions, to see if he’s making the right decision. His future self is fat, miserable and alone and at first he can’t place why, before ultimately determining that the cause was downloading the app and worrying too much about his future without making choices himself.
In the last one, there’s a retreat for people who became notorious on the internet (epic fails, social scandals, etc.). Each one is trying to escape what they did and live in peace, but it turns out the guy who runs the retreat has a dark secret of his own; he runs suicide cults.
What was the name of this series? Does it even still exist on Youtube?
openPrince of Egypt AMV Web Original
It was an AMV of the Prince of Egypt from maybe 7 or more years ago that, if I reacll correctly was actually good but it seems to have been taken down from Youtube. The song was Pieces of a Dream by Anastacia.
openComedy show with asian girl in dress and man in cow suit, parodies children shows Web Original
This show I believe was available on Crackle in the late 2000s to early 2010s, though I may be wrong. The show featured a wheel similar to the Wheel of Fortune wheel, and there was an asian girl with black hair, 2 pony tails sticking out of the hair, and a blue/pink dress, and a man in a cow suit with a little bit of facial hair. I can't remember what it was called, though it was only a very tiny bit similar to The Upside Down Show in a few episodes, only except it's American and geared towards adults.
openWeird series of Paper Mario "animations" Web Original
A series of videos I used to watch way back in the early days of Youtube was named something like "The Real Paper Mario 3", and it was a very bizarre crossover between Kingdom Hearts and Paper Mario. Basically it was a clip show showcasing Mario going through different Disney Worlds, using a combination of MS Paint and Sprites (The Disney characters used the artstyle of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories).
I also remember that ocassionally, besides Mario, Mickey and the world's main character, an extra character would join the party. I specifically remember Kirby being on Agrabah, Cloud on the Olympus Colosseum (like in the game), Sponge Bob in Atlantica and the author's self-insert, who I recall being called "Ricardo" and being a fat guy with a top hat and a hammer, in Halloween Town. I have vague memories of Donald and Goofy, alongside the Thousand Year Door party members, were there, but I can't say for sure.
The creator's name was Ricardo and a series of numbers and letters as it was back in the day, and I remember there was another video from his own that was also in a similar style called "The Real Kingdom Hearts 3", which was also a crossover between Disney and Nintendo. It must have been from 2006-2007 because I am well-aware this was made before Super Paper Mario was released, as I lost track of this series once it was (given how it was the REAL Paper Mario 3).
Also it was not The Untold Stories of Paper Mario.
openOld Gaia Online-esque Avatar Site, probably long gone, where you could choose your avatar's race? Web Original
I remember back in 2006 or 2007 there was a Gaia Online-esque avatar website, the thing was you could choose your avatars race, such as human, elf, I believe neko, etc, and hairstyles were race restricted (either that or they removed the ears, I remember asking in a feedback forum to make a certain hairstyle available to nekos). I think there were also RPG elements, or they planned on adding RPG elements, either way, it was very focused on establishing a world and setting and put emphasis on the roleplaying aspect moreso than social networking. There may have also been music, but I think I might have got it confused with another site. It's probably long gone by now. I think I remember that the avatars faced perfectly straight forward, not 3/4 like Gaia and its many other imitators.
edit: it's possible it's Solia Online, but the dates don't line up, Solia started in 2008 and this was 2007 at the very latest, but maybe I'm misremembering.
Edited by ninjamitsuki2openMario Brothers Mockumentary Web Original
When I was younger, I stumbled upon a video which was essentially a mockumentary on the Mario Brothers, which I remember being called something like the Mario Segale story, anyway one of the parts of the video had a section on Luigi in which he had a brief rap career, and had an affair with Ms Pacman, (which is the name of Pacman's female counterpart, although he insisted on the point that since she is Ms. Pacman and not Mrs Pacman, that those events were being misrepresented. Now, I can't find it, but perhaps you can?
openFlash cartoon about a contract killer Web Original
A flash cartoon where a contract killer runs into an old friend in a public setting - it may have been a high school reunion, at very least it was a crowded bar. Anyway, once the old friend finds out what the assassin does for a living, he keeps trying to convince him to kill a random guy across the room right then and there. Eventually he gives in and just nonchalantly shoots the guy - the friend complains that he didn't do that cool sideways gun thing. I think it was satirizing the kind of thing where, say, you're a professional artist and an old acquaintance who barely interacted with you at the time finds your work online and now wants you to draw an elaborate tattoo design as a favor. Assassins and high school reunions might make one think of Grosse Point Blank, but this was definitely a flash cartoon and not a live action movie scene.

This was an interesting blog and a good read I discovered a few months ago, but I no longer know how to find it or what it was called. Each post was dedicated to a particular "lesson" using a particular webcomic as a case study, like one about stuffy, unrelatable dialogue zeroing in on a comic focused on uninteresting wealthy characters with ostentatious vocabularies. I don't believe art was the focus of many of the posts. Otherwise, I don't have much else memory, but I'm fairly certain it was an independent blog not hosted on a larger site.
