openGritty Arab, Turkish or Israeli spy thriller / crime drama tv show? Live Action TV
I took a Greyhound-like bus ride last week, and in the seat ahead of me, a Middle Eastern-looking younger guy binge-watched a TV show that had Arab subtitles. it seemed llike a gritty spy thriller or crime drama.
it seemed to be set in a government agency or the secret service or some special police task force: an ensemble drama with a male lead, very modern and cold looks (lots of blue, steel, light grey, bad weather). there was a coworker or data analyst etc. who wore a hijab. everything looked sleek and "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."-like. I didn't see supernatural elements, but there were quite a lot of bombs, snipers etc.
it could have been the Turkish show "Icerde", but the colors of "Icerde" look too saturated. I don't think it was Israeli spy drama "Fauda" because the setting was much less bright/sunny. it reminded me of "Spooks", the British spy drama. the episodes were on Youtube, and the show looked very new (2012 or later). Good videography, high production values and just all-around interesting: I was sure that I could find it on Google right away. it looked like a popular, big-budget show.
open70s or 80s Sat. Morning show with a Guy and a Computer Live Action TV
There's a show I vaguely remember watching when I was like 4 or 5 on Saturday mornings after the usual cartoon lineup. It was live-action and had a guy who had this computer that he talked with. The screen had an early computer graphic "face" on it. Sometimes he would go out into the streets with his computer "friend" on basically an "iPad" type device. I think it may have been semi-educational. And I seem to think the guy had a 70s porn 'stache or beard and wore a newsboy-style hat. That about all I remember. Please help! Thanks.
openStrange British TV thriller Live Action TV
I'm trying to recall the name of a strange mystery thriller shown many years ago in UK (think it was BBC, but not sure). The plot involved a hitman trying to find out what had happened to his brother. He infiltrated a cult which I think was called Church of Christ Psychopath and was run by a very strange chap who had a thing about samurai swords. Very weird stuff happened, and the final climax included the bad guys being distracted by a corpse apparently rising from the grave, thus giving the hitman the chance to turn the tables. Apparently the corpse wasn't reanimated, it was pushed up by burrowing badgers - I said weird things happened! It was run either very late 60s or 70s, I think. Anyone got any ideas?
openThat one Book of Pooh episode Live Action TV
What was that Book of Pooh episode where Pooh, Rabbit, Tigger and I think Piglet went on a camp out and Eeyore joins them later in the night called?
openTv show on two teens who debunk myths and mysteries Live Action TV
I somewhat remember this tv show around 2011? Somewhat newer and it was about a teen girl and boy who debunked mysteries and myths with the help of a somewhat nutty scientist. It was on early in the morning or late at night. Any ideas?
open"I'm Roger McGough, and I'm off" Live Action TV
Any British tropers here watch a TV show around the 90's featuring the poems of Roger Mc Gough? I have vivid memories of it, but can't think of a title and it's driving me mad that there doesn't seem to be any record of it online.
openImagination and kids Live Action TV
A small group of kids/teens would travel these scenes of imagination. Can't remember when but figure late 80s - early 90s. Don't even remember the real main premise but some scenes I remember are; they walk into this room and see a guy sitting at a table holding a teaspoon above a cup so that when he falls asleep it clatters and wakes him up, another one is they go to this box building with two doors and signs above them- one says work and the other play- when they go in each door they find the opposite kind of scene then they were expecting, last one I can remember clearly is they come across a set of stars that are an optical illusion that just keep climbing to itself that they climb. I also believe the opening had a hot air baloon but don't quote me on that one. P. S. Sorry for no spacing, on phone, has no way of creating new line [Enter].
Edited by LostLinxopenGaurdian Angel Sitcom? Live Action TV
I vaguely remember a few clips from a show that centered on the topic of a Guardian Angel who was tasked with helping a high school student. God or the the equivalent of him was depicted as a giant head( an old man who might have been wearing glasses). In one episode the angel helps an old black woman who died in her home of presumably natural causes. He takes her to meet the giant head and she says "You never told me he was so handsome!" In another, the angel spends the day with a rock star. This was not a traditional looking angel. He was just a teen in a jacket and jeans. This was not a show that operated under the assumption that any one religion was true as far as I could tell. Any help is greatly appreciated,. It would be nice to have a name to put to the memory. This was a live action show with a laugh track and everything.
Edited by Benthelameopen2008ish TV series Live Action TV
I'm trying to remember the name of this one series. I remember the promotional material for season one had an african american as the president of the United States saying "I'm the president of the United States, I have a right to know" or something along those lines and the first episode of the series featured a plane disappearing.
What was the name of that show?
openTrying to find two live action older kids science shows/videos Live Action TV
When I was about six, I had two science shows meant for kids a bit older on VHS(this was around 2003-2004, and these could have been fairly old.) I just can't find either.
The first one I think I had several tapes of. It is extremely likely this one was made by NASA, because I think I found them years later but didn't mess with them. It involved a group of kids, doing and talking about different science things, and visiting places like field trips. I think their main place was a clubhouse. There were parts of it with an animated skunk newscaster on TV.
The other one I feel might be harder to find, though more likely to have been something that actually aired on TV. I had one tape with like 6 episodes. This one consisted of various short segments. One segment in like four of the episodes I had was about a talking head in a green jar. In one of the episodes, he looked different, so I think it was from a different season. I suspected this one might have been Newton's Apple, but I could find no evidence of such a character in it. Could have missed it though.
openPolice series Live Action TV
Anyone remember the name of the short lived police series that aired at the end of 1979 or in the early 80's. They drove a yellow chevy nova In a few episodes and the team consisted of a woman and 2 men. This show started a little bit after the Starsky and Hutch series ended.
openTV Show about a robot kid Live Action TV
I'm trying to find a show I once saw a family member watching. I can't remember the name of it. It was set in the far future. The technology was very advanced. There might of been an asteroid mining mission. The main character was a robotic kid. He had artificial intelligence. The boy looked no older then 10. The robot's hair was short, brown and curly. He looked 100% human. He was being raised or watched by his "mother". The parents tried to put him into a school but they rejected him because he was not human. His father died at some point (before or after the timeline of the show). I remember a specific scene where the kid was at a museum talking to an informational robot (IR). The IR was talking about humans and their history, stating the boy was homosapien because he was human. The robot boy replied he wasn't. The IR asked "What do you mean?". Just as the boy was going to respond, he was rushed else where. I vaguely remember a scene where the mother (which I think was kidnapped) gave birth to a baby (which I think the kidnappers gave her). She had hallucinations or dreams about typing on a keypad which killed the baby or something. Please help me identify this TV show.
openBBC Show where a politicians child is kidnaped Live Action TV
A BBC show where a politicians child was kidnapped and for some reason the nanny was a major character I think? circa 2010ish and I think it only had one series, I also think the programme began with an M and as well as scenes in london was set in somewhere like the highlands for a short time but I could be wrong.
Many Thanks!
openSyfy Live Action TV
Man escapes room closing in on him with skeleton keys with woman beside himself. Then they encounter a room with a rack of weapons. Then there is a scene with a lady in a red dress in a dark room sitting on a chair. At the end of the episode a man says whoever was watching was definitely testing us.
openI apologise for the vagueness Live Action TV
It was a TV show about two best friends (maybe even brothers?) who would dare each other to do stuff. Early 2000's, probably on MTV. They were either American or Canada. Live action.
openHistorical Artifact Teen Show??? Live Action TV
I can't remember this one show that I saw with my family, I think I saw it on tv around 2007-2009. The show had 3 teenagers as the main characters, one was a wild blond haired boy who's parent's died and had to go live with distinct relatives, another was a brown or black haired boy who the blond boy had to live with, the last main character was a girl who I can't remember too well. The main theme was about history(it also could have been sci-fi) or artifacts. I can only recall snippets of the episodes, one being very specific;the black haired teen asked the blond teenager "do you drive," or "can you drive?" and there was a flashback to a young blond haired boy climbing in the front seat of his parents jeep and crashing it into rocks. Another memory is the three teens are looking for something/someone or they were being chased/followed in a greenhouse, but another person outside the greenhouse put sleeping gas or poison gas in the sprinkler system, I can't remember too much from this memory but I know one of the teens or two of them passed out from it and the screen might of went blurry.
openseries about Native Americans, circa 1980 Live Action TV
This is immensely annoying, because I managed to track down this and the other piece I'm asking about three or four years ago, but I've lost the file in which I wrote down their details, so I need to find them again
This one is a live-action US TV series, made in the late 1970s or very early 1980s and possibly in black and white. It was called something similar to People of the Wind, but that's not quite right. It was a drama about life in a Native American Plains village riound about the time the white man first arrived.
In the episode I remember best, they meet their first white man, a lost French trapper with a heavy beard. They have never seen someone with so much facial hair before. You get a lovely romantic shot of tipis glowing like lanterns in the night, then a close-up of one in which there are about ten people all snoring in different keys. Then the youngest boy gets up and sneaks round the edge of the tent to the Frenchman and feels his beard to see if it's real, and after him the rest of his family all do the same, one by one in ascending order of age. There was also an episode which had to do with a boy raised by wolves. I believe there were six or eight episodes made, four of which were shown on British tv in the early '80s.
openCorny show I can't seem to find the name of Live Action TV
Live action show about a high school or middle school student that keeps having sci-fi scenarios happen to him. Probably from the late 90's or early 2000's. Aired in Canada. Here are some episodes I remember.
1) He orders a machine from a newspaper. When he gets the machine it is just a decorated cardboard box. He goes to the newspaper office and complains. The newspaper employee shows him that the fine print of the ad says that the machine may not look as advertised or do the things the ad saids it can. The employee then smugly saids that everything that their paper saids is true (turns out the newspaper makes things that are written in it true somehow). Some time later they are asking the protagonist how many people should die in a story they are writing. The employee thinks it should be eight because it sounds sadder to him. He asks the protagonist the question like this "what do you think sounds sadder, fourteeen or eiiiight."
2) The protagonist's older sister meets a woman that makes beauty products. At some point the sister willingly allows herself to have a plastic mask affixed to her face (she also wears a blonde wig, and maybe a pink dress that matches the woman's aswell). She looks like she is in a Halloween costume. The brother narrates "when some one loves you they'll sometimes call you a doll, but now I'm afraid that [woman's name] is trying to make my sister into her plaything." The mask will break if the sister thinks too hard. The brother decides to give her a math problem to solve (as she has a love for math). She does the math problem, the mask cracks and she peels it off.

I remember I used to watch this show all the time. I don't know how much truth there was behind the stories, I think it may have been a fact or fiction type show. They had creepy facts about the different places in the world. The one scene I remember most is the host talking about how a long time ago kings used to behead people and the head could see for seconds after it was cut off and that a woman was said to have run away from her head, a certain amount of distance, breaking some kind of record in the town. I swear it was on Nickelodeon but haven't found it on any of nicks listings. It had a lot of other interesting weird history, but that part scared the shit out of me.
