This one came to mind when I was watching an episode of King of the Hill. When Bobby was at the military camp, he was put in "the hole," where he lasted for three days. His grandfather had been in the same place years earlier and lasted only two days.
This reminded me of a movie from years back and I can't remember what it was, but it may have been an old Kung Fu movie or something. Anyway, there was a scene where a pupil was buried up to his neck in dirt and left there until he couldn't take it any more. When the pupil finally gave up, he was pulled out of the dirt and was told that he had lasted a day longer than his master had. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

A cowboy movie I saw in the 1970s on TV: This one was what appeared to be from the 1960s or 1970s. The main plot of the movie was two guys who were in competition with one another and they had to go from (I think) an East Coast city to somewhere on the West Coast or the Southwest (maybe San Francisco or Phoenix). It was a kind of a race. To prove they'd made it there, they had to bring a menu from a specific famous restaurant in that city. When one of them arrived first, he took all the menus so the other guy couldn't get one and beat him back. Any ideas?

Hello all TV Series Shows and Movie Buff's I need your help, I'm obsessed in trying to find the name of an older TV series Show i think around 1995-2007 or it might be earlier or later and taking place in the ocean a lot, with young teens in a boat or sail boat that find an orange alien light up Power source or generating talking ball from another planet with a mans voice Named O.J. and there trying to Keep O.J. Safe from the bad guys that are chasing them on Hover Craft Motor cycles and there is a black haired I think Chinese or Japanese girl chasing another black haired girl (Who resembles a lot like the teenage girl in the movie Spy Kids) and she's on Hover craft Motor cycles shooting guns and I think there using laser guns and the tv show is made to look like it's in the future a bit and here are some guesses that may help for the title name of the TV show I think has 1 of these words in it: Sea, Ocean Pacific, Sky. and some other word or words after that?
Thank you

This has been bothering me for quite a while. All I remember about this is that there are two brothers. The older brother has this girlfriend and then for some reason (I think he was frozen in ice or something) fast forward, the older brother remains the same age he was a few years back and his younger brother is now older than he is. I think said younger brother is dating the older brother's girlfriend. It's not an anime, but a Western live action film (or series) if I recall correctly.

I'm looking for a Korean, or at least Asian Action drama-ish movie I saw about 4-5 years ago. I remember the story quite well but don't remember the name...but I do believe it was also a Korean term, although the movie also had some British actors. I googled the movie back then with the name, after watching it and found basically nothing so it must be really obscure.
Assassins break into the house of a family. They kill the husband and injure the wife. The child hides in a cupboard, and one of the killers opens it. Then the other one says that they have to kill the child now, because it saw them. So they do that.
You see that the wife was the only survivor and is now in hospital. She was apparently some kind of agent, that's why the killers targeted her family. She asks a relative - her father or uncle, not sure - to avenge her family. He promises to do that.
He hires three assassins for that. The problem is that he is a bit older and has beginning dementia. He keeps forgetting who the three men are or why he hired them. I think they write notes for him so he remembers. I remember there was one large action scene with a brawl in a public park between several people. At the end, the old man has completely forgotten his plan. But the three hired assassins still do their job, but I think it is implied that they also die in the attack.
I hope this sounds familiar to someone.

This is a film I read about a month or so ago in Fangoria, and it's bugging me that I can't remember the name, or find it on their website. The things I remember:
-It was about a haunted Ship wreck. -(I think) It was Canadian (I think Quebec, specifically). -The filmmaker had previously made documentaries about real-world shipwrecks, and some of the materials from those influenced the film.

In 2006 or around that time I was in the room studying while someone was watching a TV special about movies that got changed at the last minute. I only caught bits and pieces, and I didn't care much at the time, but I've grown curious about what one of these movies was.
All I remember about the movie was that it was live action and involved time travel. A critic at the advance screening pointed out a plot flaw that the filmmakers hadn't realized, and they changed some part of the movie to correct it before the general release. Other movies discussed in the special included the remake of The Stepford Wives and some movie where a pregnant woman drinking wine had to be edited out at the last minute.
I'm hoping someone knows what movie this was referring to. It might be fun to track down the TV special as well.

Movie (I saw it on TV), I think it was probably a spoof of the Stepford Wives or so? Humanoid robods posing as humans, at some point the useless cop wants to prove it and stabs the non-robot doppelganger in the thigh. At some other point hot girls that are robots in disguise suddenly kangaroo-jump away when they notice they're being watched.

A movie that was on television by the mid-90s or so that I only caught the ending. The movie seemed to be about some guy that ended up unwillingly part of human experimentation towards a cure for a disease that leaves people stuck in wheelchairs (I think multiple sclerosis, but maybe something else).
The ending had the protagonist confronting the doctor, who gives a monologue about how the protagonist spent maybe a few hours unable to walk, but his female assisting has spent her whole life in a wheelchair. The doctor believes he found a cure, but things escalate until the protagonist kills him. After his death, there's discussion over whether or not to publish the doctor's findings.

There was this live-aciton film that I only watched a sort-of-trailer for years ago, which was centered on a group of goofy and eccentric friends — eccentric enough to, among other things, run around naked in public once — who end up becoming acquianted with a drop-dead gorgeous blond bombshell. For some reason, they all swear to each other that they would avoid her like the plague and never fall for her charms... and they fail as each gets seduced by the evidently nymphomaniac temptress (one short scene in the trailer even has her drag down one of them to her by the neck with her long legs — don't ask, I think It Makes Sense in Context). Eventually, she reveals that she became prgenant, and one of those guys is the father (apparently, she hadn't seduced anyone else outside of them). The trailer culminates with the guys all gathered around her as she gives birth in the hospital, and when the doctor holding the baby asks for the father, all of said guys answer "I am" in stereo.
Anyone recognize this?

A teen boy marries his crush so their families can be taken to safety during a huge evacuation, because he helped the government figure out (reason for evacuation) was going to happen. Unfortunately it turns out that even though he married her, only he and she can be brought to the special bunker and their families have to fend for themselves.

This is a scene that keeps bothering me. This has a girl who keeps talking to this black man in a bar or cafe, while the black man seems on the verge of breaking into tears. At some point, the black man starts shouting nonsense towards the girl while she stares at him. Very weird. Any ideas?

A movie that I very briefly saw in the early 2000s. The scene in question shows an old, graying man waking up inside a non-CGI bag of flesh. Possibly a "Fantastic Voyage" Plot, but he wasn't shrunk.

At school, sometime in maybe second grade, there was a rather disturbing educational video. (Counts as a film, right?) It was about emergencies, opening with some kids riding their bicycles, one of them helmetless. The helmetless one rode his bike into a mailbox, ending with a gash in his head graphic enough to traumatize your average nerdy, sensitive oddball - namely, me. SECOND. BLEEPING. GRADE. Each time something bad happened to someone (e.g. car crash), a clock popped up on the screen and everything froze. During this, the narrator asked what we thought should be done in that situation instead of the stupid things people actually did. What the heck was this‽ Not the interrobang, stolen from wikipedia, but the video?

When I was in mid-late elementary school sometime (between 2005 and 2008) My dad showed me a movie (it was either PG-13 or Rated R I believe) about some superstorm that was going to rise ocean levels to an astronomical level. I remember NYC got flooded and the buildings were underwater and there was a huge scene about escaping one of the buildings. I want to say it was about global warming? The movie could very well have been made before 2005. I almost want to say the superstorm was hurricane. Or maybe weather was going out of whack all over the planet.

This is an old black and white movie I saw on Turner Classic Movies a while back. A criminal on the run holds a doctor at gunpoint. The criminal wants the doctor to use some technique and turn him into a different man. The doctor uses it and the criminal gets amnesia.
The doctor takes the former criminal under his wing and eventually turns him into a doctor as well. He works at a women's prison where he gets recognized by his former gun moll who sets out to ruin him. The gun moll is stopped by one of the criminal's former friends. The friend kills himself and the gun moll by driving their car off the road.

A military AI controls a futuristic looking plane and gradually starts thinking and actively killing the main cast. The three main characters are a black man who dies while trying to shoot down the AI's aircraft, a white woman who somehow ends up in an asian country after her plane is shot down, and a white man who almost gets killed when trying to stop a missile from destroying a building, I think in said asian country.
There is also a scene where they try to stop the AI by not letting it recharge fuel but the AI solves the problem by shooting at the fuel container and somehow filling its own tank. The AI also starts downloading tons of songs after being hit by the lightning that makes it sapient.

A co-worker recognized the Woody Guthrie song "Do Re Mi" from the soundtrack of a film he watched. It takes place in the Depression/Dust Bowl era, and may have George Clooney in it. (It is not O Brother, Where Art Thou?) I know that's not a lot to go on, but if anyone has an idea, I'd like to hear it.
