openHad a man with a broken antenna on his head... Western Animation
When my brother and I were kids (80s-90's) my mom rented a video for us we thought was the GI Joes... but it wasn't. I really hope someone can help with what it was, it has plagued me for many years now. Here's what I remember,or think I remember... I think it started out with people watching a radar screen, tracking a dot that was getting closer... the dot turned out to be a small spacecraft crashing to earth. They find a man on board, his body is normal but his head is silver like it's made of metal. He has a single broken off antenna on top of his head. As I remember they take him to their base, but he can't remember anything. Their base may have been in a mountain, I'm not sure, but I remember them flying out from a tunnel when they would leave the base. Somehow the man's memory begins coming back, he remembers a home on another planet... I think his village was burned or bombed. I kind of think he flew away in the end. I have tried forever to find out what this was... please help!
Edited by Seajp812openTwo old creepy TV shows Live Action TV
So i was trying to find two old tv shows. As the title suggests, they both consisted of short horror/creepy stories.
The first one had a cockroach bartender that "narrated" short animated creepy stories. One of these stories that i vaguely remembered had a guy break into a girls room and get stuck while hiding under the bed.
The second was more of a live action that had a cast of a black boy and a white girl, both teenagers, as well as a "mad" scientist. They recounted creepy myths and urban legends such as that of a haunted flush.
(some details may be inaccurate)
openMovie about a hostage situation in the outback
I saw this movie years ago. Guy living with his wife and baby out in the middle of nowhere. Something happens that causes people to think he's dangerous or being abusive, and it becomes this weird house siege with the cops. Guy has a shit ton of guns and it lasts for days.
The posh neighbours get kicked out of their house so the cops can use it as a HQ, so they have to move in with the hillbilly neighbours that they hate, their son ends up having sex with the hillbilly girl and his mom walks in on them.
The whole thing is resolved when he agrees to give up and they decide to let him join the army or air force rather than get arrested but then they find out he can't read so they just decide to let him go.
Edited by TycusMDopenAustralian Show/Mini Series about Farmer and Foreign Woman, Puzzle Pieces Live Action TV
There's a show which may have been a mini series, I remember it only having a few parts, it was on in the last seven years on Australian channel ABC (i'm guessing).
What I can remember from the plot is; It's about a man (may be a farmer), lives on a rural plot of land, keeps to himself kind of grumpy. I'm thinking his wife may have died somewhat recently because he's angry/sad at the world.
Meanwhile in town centre, I think at the local hotel/pub there is a foreign woman being kept locked up in one of the rooms and sold for prostitution with the male guests/townspeople. I think she may have been seeking asylum but because of what her situation is no one knows she's missing/looking for her.
She escapes and is found by the man as mentioned above, he's intrigued but also reluctant to help her too much. I think he mostly wants her to get better and be on her way. She can't speak English at all or very well, but they manage to communicate.
One IMPORTANT piece of information I remember which I think is relevant to the title of the show. Man has a puzzle on a side table that he puts a piece into place every so often. He doesn't sit down to do the puzzle, just a pass by that piece goes there kinda thing. One day the foreign woman puts a piece in place and he gets really angry at her and shouts at her etc. I think it's revealed later that he and his wife started the puzzle together, then she died so he doesn't want to finish it. That's why he only puts a piece in so often. I'm pretty sure its a puzzle of blue sky with clouds.
They end up forming a connection and falling for each other, I remember the hotel owners for some reason suspect the man to by hiding her on his property so they come visit him on day asking but the man deters them and says he hasn't seen her. I think the hotel owners are convinced he has her though because I remember a night scene at the farmers property with a gun fight. That's all i can remember, which is a lot but I can't think of the name of the show or picture the actors in it and Googling "Australian show farmer and foreign woman puzzle" gets me nowhere.
Thanks for your time.
openTime-traveler meets George Lucas (SOLVED: Legends of Tomorrow) Live Action TV
I'm pretty sure the show I'm thinking of was a live-action show, not too old, but it might've been an adult animation... one of the episodes had a character go back in time to the early seventies and meet a bearded young man. He saved the man's life (I think from a car-crusher) and finds out the man is George Lucas... but, George becomes a wimp after the experience and refuses to make action movies, so the present changes, there's no Star Wars, et cetera.
So, our hero goes back in time again, with a laser, and helps George avoid the near-death experience. I think the hero has a laser gun, which gives George the idea "of making a sci fi story...with lasers..."
Edited by PisthetairosopenPeter Pan disney movie?
It's a really old movie version of Peter Pan. Definitely before 1953 but I think it was Disney. The girls was Wendy, not Jane. And I remember Tinkerbell made the lost boys shoot wer with an arrow. In 1953 the shot at Jane with rocks, so I know it's not that one. But Tinkerbell tried to kill her, more or less, and Wendy was saved by a button. After a few moments, she groaned, sat up and said her chest hurt. I think Peter might have given it to her, but either way it saved her life. Everyone thought she'd died, and she was gonna be the lost boys new mother, that's why he brought her in the first place. I also remember that as they flew to Neverland, Wendy asked Peter about his parents and he simply said he didn't have any. One of his parents left, I think. Another bit I remember is that Captain Hook was planning on killing Peter, or Wendy, and he made a cake. He left it outside the tree, where their hideout was, and poisoned it. Before Wendy could eat it, Tinkerbell saved her. She snatched the cake and three it on a plant, proving it was poisonous. In the end, I remember everybody flew back home. The pirates and lost boys all returned to their mothers, except for Peter, Tinkerbell and possibly Hook. Also, one tiny detail I remember is that Tinkerbell couldn't speak, as usual, but she did make some sort of twittering noise. I thought she was very adorable most of the time, when she was nice. Also, Peter didn't ban her for trying to kill Wendy. When he found it was her idea to shoot Wendy, he just got a little angry and said he'd deal with her later. And Tinkerbell just hid, looked pretty scared as I remember.
That's all I remember but I can't find any of this anywhere. Please help me! 🙏🙏
Edited by Pepsilovin-pikaopenLes Mis musical adaptation
I’m looking for a version of the Les mis musical I saw on tv where it wasn’t a movie or a tv show, but more like one of those NBC live musicals where it was filmed on multiple sets. The scenes had lots of props and decorations to make it realistic. I remember that it came out after the movie, and it was almost 3 hours long. Am I just imagining this?
openA puppet owl teaching a puppet boy math Film
I vaguely remember a movie/tv show that started with an owl professor who helped teaching a boy (another puppet) math. They would go to a different scene and would learn math with movie rabbits, lamps, cars, etc. and work on math, additions, subtractions, multiplication and division. It’s killing me I can’t find it anywhere. It must have been sometime in the 1970-1990. I can’t imagine it being any older or younger than that range. I’m 31 and watching it around the age of 5-6
Edited by Hollywood50openWoman and boy forced to jump into Sarlaac-esque pit? Film
This one's been weirding me out for years now. I had my first exposure to Star Wars at age 6, in 1999 or 2000, watching Return of the Jedi. I was pretty freaked-out by a lot of it, but the one scene that left a particular impact was the Sarlaac pit - that was the beginning of a lifelong fear of going off diving boards. Something I thought I remembered fairly strongly was that, before Luke's turn, a woman and a young boy were forced to jump into the Sarlaac pit (and were not rescued). They both went very calmly, just striding forward to their dooms, and I can easily recall the feeling of horror and revulsion I got watching that. In my mind's eye, the woman is dressed just like Queen Amidala in her iconic red outfit, and the boy looked a bit like Anakin Skywalker in Episode 1.
I genuinely believed this was a scene in the movie until I rewatched Rot J (and watched the other episodes for the first time) at age 14. Since then, I've been wondering where this imaginary scene came from. It makes me think of the Mandela effect, but I'm not a believer in any of that parallel timeline stuff, so I'm more likely to believe that I somehow conflated the scenes of Jabba's guards and Boba Fett falling into the Sarlaac pit (plus possibly Oola being fed to the Rancor) with promotional images + clips I might have seen from The Phantom Menace, which came out around that time. Given how much the scene scared me, it could even have been a nightmare that got misremembered as real life. Still, the memory is so specific that I'm wondering if there's a similar scene in a different movie or TV show that I mixed up with Return of the Jedi. Can anyone think of any scene like this in anything, or did traumatized 6-year-old me just make it all up?
EDIT: It just occurred to me that my parents also watched a lot of Star Trek when I was young, and I could very easily have gotten the two confused. Can anyone think of a Star Trek episode wehre something like this happens?
Edited by Obiwanlivesforever2openAlien life confirmed Literature
Does anybody know a book about humanity getting proof that there's intelligent life on some other planet, but there's no way whatsoever of contacting the aliens? Basically, all we have is the knowledge that we're not alone, but we don't have any aliens or alien tech here on Earth.
openAmerican crime Live Action TV
i watched a few episode almost 10 years ago but i cant remember the name of it. It was an American crime show and one of the main characters was called Bobby, it was about gangsters i think and i dont mean MOB gangsters.
sorry i dont remember a lot about it i was really young.
openA CGI promotional video Western Animation
I'm looking for a computer animated promotional video, most likely for some sort of computer equipment or software. I remember watching it on the screens in electronics section of local supermarket. It must have been at the time when Windows Millennium Edition was still relatively new (so maybe 2000 or 2001) because I remember seeing adverts for it shortly before or after at the same place. The video was divided into 4 (maybe more) parts showcasing different capabilities of the product. It featured humanoid robots and I believe everything was happening on round or oval platforms floating in cybernetic void. One part symbolising gaming showed two robots playing table tennis and speeding up until the ball was just a blur.
openA music video with hallucinogenic fruits
It was a music video most likely from late 2000s. It constantly switched perspective between a tropical jungle and (I think) a dance club. The jungle is full of blue (maybe purple) fruits with slimy inside and about the size of a grapefruit or melon. People are eating them and/or smearing themselves with them. Later everyone who ate the fruit started tripping, which I think was represented by slightly erotic spasms. As for the music, I seem to remember that the singer was female.
Edited by AdenowirusopenOld Werewolf Movie (solved) Film
I saw an old werewolf movie on Svengoolie many years ago. I think it starts with a lady being in the woods and she’s suddenly pregnant or something, and gives birth and the baby is baptized but there’s a gargoyle in the reflection of the water. The kid grows I think and then they decide they have to kill him because he’s a werewolf. There’s also a scene where a lady faints in the woods and is revived with smelling salts by and attractive guy. It’s in black and white
Edited by HeartsHollyopenYet another Svengoolie movie Film
The movie starts out with these guys trying to find missing people, and they end up in a castle I think and they get picked off one by one. One of the guys is kidnapped and strapped to a table and the kidnappers are going to inject him with this potion that is supposed to make you immortal (they’re testing it on people). The kidnapped guy is a pupetteer so he uses his ability to talk without moving his mouth to trick the kidnappers to check the door so he can squirt out the potion and replace it with water. They inject him, throw him in a dungeon and they find the other missing people but they’re really really old. The potion makes you old instead of immortal. There’s a fight or something, and one of the kidnappers is like “wait, you were injected but you aren’t old! It works!” And immediately injects herself, but the pupetteer was actually injected with water so he tries to stop her but it’s too late. This is in black and white and was featured on Svengoolie a long time ago
openShow or movie with bullies and Spice Girls
So, I remember recently watching something where this younger girl was bullied. She was with a group of "friends," and they were recreating a Spice Girls music video. The bully/"friends" didn't let this girl into the video because she was different, and she had to make the video and sit behind the camera.
I'd appreciate any help because any Google search with "Spice Girls" gives me only that.
openArts and crafts show Live Action TV
There was this show where they did arts and crafts with kids on Nickelodeon. The part I remember most was the intro where they build a fort out of boxes and the inside of it is where the show takes place.
Okay, so when my brother and I were babies, our parents has a VHS tape about a Black Guy and a White Girl dancing and rapping to child friendly songs. It was definitely influenced by late 80's - early 90's culture, with the fashion style, the colors, the music, everything. One of the songs featured had a kid reciting solfege. I remember this much, but can't remember the name or anything else. Is there anyone out there who does?
