openA couple of computer games
Since YKTS has been revamped, it seems my original posts regarding the following educational computer games are now gone. I'll give it another shot and re-post them here:
1. For this one, I'm almost positive there was some kind of hub. I believe it was a space station. You were followed by an anthropomorphic green animal, either a lizard or a frog (and no, it wasn't Thaddeus Pole from Explorapedia; I've tried that one already). In this space station hub, there was something you could click on that would make everything on the space station float around while Beautiful Blue Danube played in the background. There was also a part in the game where you could click on a big radio tower and a voice would say something like, "This is Big Bad Joe reporting live from Springtown!" before continuing about... something.
2. In the other game, there were these aliens of different colors. I believe some were red, some were green, and some were purple. You had to put the aliens into the proper colored spaceships. Then they would fly away and say things like, "Good. Bye. Earth. Ling." and "I'm going now..."
I played both of these games on a Mac we had in my Kindergarten classroom, back in 1999/2000. If anyone knows the games I'm talking about, please let me know.
Edited by thevisualboy37openLooking for an oldish animated short (I think) Western Animation
I'm looking for an old Tv show that ran late at nights on (I believe) Disney channel they were short and involved two girls (One had glasses I think one was blonde) investigating a bunch of monsters and mysteries. I distinctly remember two episodes one where they go into a sewer and find crocodiles and one where they meet the headless horseman. I'm 16 so it couldn't be older than 13 years old and it was definitely like gravity falls in the story idea. If anyone knows what this is called I would love to know I've been looking for this show for 10 years and have yet to find it. P.S. I saw this show in Australia 13-years ago so it could be older in its original air date.
openB-52s-types sing educational songs Live Action TV
I can't remember if this show is more '80s or '90s. I saw it in the US and I think it may have been regular network tv - but I'm not sure. A music band of adults in outrageously loud and crazy costumes sang educational songs. It was kind of like a Wiggles-predecessor and for a slightly older audience, I think. I think they sang about all kinds of educational concepts. They reminded me of the B-52s, which makes me think the show was probably more 90s than 80s. The single episode that really stands out, or maybe the show's intro, involved them wearing cliche Egyptian costumes (think King Tut and Walk Like an Egyptian). I'm pretty sure it was the same band/cast week after week. It did not run many seasons, as far as I can remember. Thanks!
openKids tv character: Orange monster wears sneakers and lives in the city
The characters in the tv show were monsters (or dinosaurs??) and the count was 5 or six of them. The costumes were life-sized puppets and they played in a band together. The main monsters was orange and I think his name started with an "R". There was an old grey monster who looked kinda like an eagle almost and he was very wise. Also there were a few kids who lived in the city and were friends with the orange monster. Time period I think is during the 90's or 2000's and I remember watching it along with Nickelodeon Jr with the moose and his bird friend. Also, the ending credits was the band playing "Ain't no stopping us now" up on a stage. Any ideas? I would really like to know if this show is real or not. Thanks!
openAnimated Short about a stuffed animal Western Animation
Okay so this probably would have been 80s or early 90s at the latest. Possibly on Nickelodeon before they started making their own content. In the short, there was a kid and his stuffed blue dog (may have been a different animal. Bear? Rabbit? Pretty sure it was blue, though). The toy came to life and they had some whimsical adventures. There was no dialog but there was music. At the end, I THINK one of the toy's button eyes falls off, and the kid abandons him to play with a new toy. The short closes on a shot of the stuffed toy, back in "toy mode," slumped on the ground with its button eye hanging off. This short DESTROYED ME as a child. (it was NOT the Velveteen Rabbit, which is acting as a red herring and throwing off all my searches)
Other info: It was definitely 2D animation and not puppets or stop motion (ruling out Old Bear and Friends and The Christmas Toy). I seem to recall it being rather minimalist, with a mostly white background, but that could be just gaps in my memory. I also recall that the animal (dog?) had floppy ears but no tail.
So far all the luck I've had is dredging up a bunch of other shows about abandoned toys that make me tear up while searching for this one (I'm lookin at you "The Mouse and His Child")
openAmerican Sitcom between 1960s and 1990s Live Action TV
Since my old post has over 50 replies, I decided to make them two different posts hoping that it will be easier.
An American sitcom (sometime between the 1960s and 1990s) with one episode involving two friends (both female) at a party with a snobby woman (I assume she's wearing blue) and then they 'accidentally' push the snobby woman into the fountain (which was in a courtyard in the middle of a house, so it was a patio type area), it was at nighttime but really bright as if lit by moonlight as well as the lights of the house. Does anyone know what the show is? And if so, what episode was I referring to?
This has been bugging me for the majority of my life and I have yet to find more information about it. PLEASE HELP ME!
Edited by bradleyangle@129open2000 (or 2001) Children's Puppet TV Show similar to Sesame Street Live Action TV
Since my old post has over 50 replies, I decided to make them two different posts hoping that it will be easier.
A 2001 short-lived kid's TV show somewhat similar to Sesame Street (I think it was on either PBS, Nickelodeon) with hand puppets and mascot costumes and 2D animation. One episode includes kids (in pajamas, I think) dance-sitting holding a toy (possibly teddy bears) in a classroom, while two life-size puppets in front of a blue tarp or sheet. NOTE: the whole song is played the first time; the second time is the same thing, but the video quickly fades to black and the credits roll while the song is still playing. Does anyone know what the show is? And if so, what episode was I referring to?
Like the first show, this has also been bugging me for the majority of my life, Unlike the first show, however, I have not found any information about it.
Edited by bradleyangle@129openAnimal cartoon
This has been bugging me for ages. I seem to remember this cartoon. The quality was not great, it was a kinda badly drawn cartoon thing with dull colours. The episodes featured a different type of animal in each one I think? I seem to remember the animals having quite funky hairstyles. For example, I remember this one episode about two frogs. One was female, I think she was yellow with blue curly hair? She had this husband and they had loads of babies, the tadpoles had little dances and stuff that they did. I also remember one with dogs or elephants visiting this salon, I swear they covered themselves in mud? And I remember a really squinty-eyed animal in one of the episodes... It's a tough one haha.
openSome old anthology kid's show from the late 90's/early 2000's about a big top? Western Animation
Okay, I'll try my best to relay my memories of this childhood favorite of mine. I remember the opening really well: It showed a hilly, grassy area (all CGI'd very cheaply of course, I mean come on, it was the 90's,) and the intro song was sung to the same tune as the Howdy Doody theme. As the children began singing the song, a big top circus tent (I believe it was blue) began to inflate like it was hooked up to a bicycle pump, along with the appropriate sound. The song ends when the tent finishes inflating and the camera zooms through the door. I don't remember much of the program itself, but I DO remember a segment where two disembodied, gloved hands (think Master Hand and Crazy Hand from Smash Bros.) would show the steps to a simple task, like squeezing orange juice. I also think the show is where 64 Zoo Lane came from, but I can't confirm it.
openZombie Movie Film
I watched a terrifying clippet of a film as a kid, and am trying to find it for closure.
There was a young woman with brown hair and a white jacket. (My child mind identified her as Lindsay Lohan, but that may not be right) She went into a garage looking for somebody. She slipped on blood and found the person she was looking for suspended above her. A zombie stands up and uses a garage door closer to close the door behind her. She is stuck with him in there. I believe the scene switches, and when it returns she is cowering in a corner while the zombie is holding a fire extinguisher or flame thrower. She shouts, "No, NO!" and screams as he sprays her with it. The cinematography reminded me of a movie, but it may have been a tv show in the same style of CSI.
EDIT: The face and hand of the zombie bear a close resemblance to The Fisherman from the I Know series, but the zombie's skin was just a bit darker.
EDIT: The actress in question was not Lindsay Lohan, though she did resemble her appearance from Herbie Fully Loaded. I will, check out the I Know movies to see if they are in fact what I'm looking for.

This was an Edutainment Game I played in Kindergarten (around 1999 or 2000). I think it was on Mac. I can only remember two parts about it: in one, you're on a space station in zero-gravity, and if you click on something, Strauss' Blue Danube plays (recently figured this out). The other part is clicking on a radio transmitter will cause a guy to say "This is [I've forgotten the name, but it was something like "Big Bad Joe"] reporting live from Springtown!" and talk for a little while about... something. The name of this game has been bugging me for a long time. I also remember there being a guide, and I think it was a talking frog. Oh, and before you say Microsoft's Explorapedia: World of People, that's not it; I tried it, thinking that might be it, and it wasn't. I don't even think it's Mac-compatible, anyway.

I stumbled upon this game a few years ago on lazylaces. The game starts out in medias res. The first level as I remember heavily features the color yellow. Eventually when you reach the end you meet a guy who goes on a long speech ending with "I killed your master". This transports you to another webpage. Eventually, this is where I got stuck, you are sent to a webpage where you have to press the arrow keys in an incredibly fast quicktime event. I do remember right before the quick time event one of your allies in the story said something along the lines of "fuck you lady".
edit: If I remember correctly the entire game was in flash. Each webpage also the url seemed to refer to its place in the story. That in itself might not be so unusual, but the in between the www and the .com indicated where chronologically the story was at.

Around 2003, possibly 2002 on Playhouse Disney, the then name of the morning preschool block on Disney Channel, they were doing this thing that I assume involved an online contest to pick their next show. After the last show, Roly Poly Oly, they would are one of about half a dozen sneak peak, mini episodes for one of the two possible shows. And while Roly Poly Oly was still playing a character from one of the two shows would appear at the bottom of the screen, so you would know which show they would show a sneak peak of. One of the shows, which happened to be the one that won, was Higglytown Heros. The other show was either hand drawn or flash animated, and had cutesy, colorful cartoon animals. I remember the backgrounds were mostly white, and the characters had big black eyes. It might have possibly been anime. Does anyone know what it was called? Thanks.
openEducational 3D Shape Game
Does anyone else remember this old computer game where you draw textures that end up going onto 3d shapes that bounce around on a chosen background while music plays? I remember playing it in school as a kid, but I can't remember what it's called. I also remember that there were some preset options such as a clown ball with circus music and a ballerina ball in what I remember to be some sort of ruins. Can anyone help?
resolved Movie with a ship (maybe) Film
There was this movie I never actually saw but read about. All I remember reading is there was this scene where the main character (who's name was Sarah something) masturbates while someone else secretly watches. Also for some reason I think the movie might have had something to do with a ship but can't remember.

Ok so I was just thinking about this tv show I definitely remember watching as a kid, and it's always been in the back of my mind. It was on when I was around 4 or 5 (2000/2001, possibly 1999) because I used to watch it before leaving for school in the mornings at around 8:15ish.
Obviously I don't remember a lot but here are the details I do remember:
- A real life human girl (I'm 99% sure her name was Dee Dee) who had a rag doll I'm pretty sure was called Spike. He wore a green jumper, blue trouser and had ginger hair if I recall correctly.
- Something happened and it caused him to get trapped in this virtual reality, which was CGI. The girl tried to save him but ended up in there too. When he entered this place he came to life and could talk and communicate with her and stuff. They spend the whole series trying to escape.
- Something about a cube (just a small feature I remember lol)
- On the last episode they eventually escaped and ended up back in the real world, and in the room where it began. She was a human again and the rag doll was back to normal and she picked it up and hugged it.
Back in those day I think we only had cable, so it would have probably been on either CBBC or CITV (wouldn't have been on Nick or Cartoon Network because I'm pretty sure it was an English show).
It's been frustrating me for a while now because I've been looking all over the internet for it and literally nothing has come up. If anybody even remembers the same show and can't remember what it was called or anything that would give me the peace of mind that it actually existed! Also any further info would be appreciated!
I always referred to it as 'Spike and Dee Dee' in my own little kid-head. Whether that's what it was actually called, I don't know. But I haven't found anything with that title so I guess it wasn't.
Edited by canthandletherandleopenOnline Flash game Videogame
Adventure game with a tone that stood out compared to others in the vicinity. Took place (at least as far as I got) on a boat in a river. Someone else gets hit with a blowdart from an unseen source and...
Could only get a few minutes in before I was stuck between the crewman I was trying to save having disappeared (but in a way that was clearly part of the game) and the heroine saying enigmatically, "I forgot something," as if I was that close to moving forward.
Seemed ambitious (maybe to the point of "is this actually going to tell a full story"). If it tied into anything I don't recall it.
Edited by CaswinopenA cartoon about timetravel.
I remember the plot was that in ancient egypt a high priest created a time machine that looks like a small metal pyramid composed of two pieces. In the present two archeologists, a redheaded guy with a mustache and a blonde german woman with a short bald Mad Scientist sidekick try to get it only to bring a pharaoh and his two underlings a tall thin smart guy and a short fat stupid guy to the present. They end up accidentally activating the time machine and get lost in time and try to get to the present. A running gag was that the time machine was triggered by saying a pharaohs name which sounded like a common expression which people would say and trigger the time machine by accident, IIRC Pharaoh Havaseet as in "have a seat".

I'm trying to find this show, and I think it was a teenage sitcom that aired probably in the late 90's or early 2000's. I don't remember who the main character was, but I remember one episode involved a shop teacher that all the students loved. The episode opened with the teacher in class commenting on all the students' work, and joking around with them. Before they leave class he announces that he is getting a sex change, and that he'd like to be called Debbie from now on. The next day the teacher comes to school with make-up on and a dress, and all the students and teachers are appalled by Debbie. They think it's unnatural, and eventually Debbie announces that she is leaving the school. Eventually the main character comes to terms with Debbie's transition and attempts to stand up for her, but Debbie still decides to stick with her decision of resigning because the stress has been too much on her and her family, and in the end she leaves.
