openSong that plays at the end of the first episode of "Story of Film: An Odyssey" Music
So I've been watching Mark Cousins' documentary Story of Film: An Odyssey, and there's a particular piece that plays at the end of the first episode (1895-1918) that I'd love to know the name of/where it's from. It sounds a little like something from a later Sergio Leone film, or some sort of Epic. I don't have access to apps like Shazam or Soundhound - else I would do it myself - and I can't find anything from googling. Therefore any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Edited by GenericSnakeopenSome song I used to hear, really vague but driving me crazy! Music
Alright, so I almost didn't ask due to how vague this will be, but it's been bugging me for literally many years. There is some song, that I have sometimes remembered a bit of for years, and it's too vague to search for. I think I heard this song in the late 2000s. I probably heard it a few times possibly more than a few, but not sure. Thought it was a song I heard being played in stores or something. I am almost certain it was a female singer with a deep or raspy voice, but could be way-misremembering. It could have been pretty much any mainstream genre. It was pretty upbeat and possibly angry sounding. I remember that the chorus started something like "I try to make you undestand I (words that I can't remember, but I am pretty sure the line ends in a -ay sound). I could be off on those lyrics though. This has seriously been bothering me for a long time, gosh I hope someone can help me finally figure out what this was. Thanks.
openHelp me find a music video Music
I remember seeing this music video on popular music tv channels in 2016 or 2015 (I don't think it is much older than that). I cannot for the life of me remember either the lyrics or the melody. The video goes something like this: there is a girl, sleeping on the floor in a flying prison. Down on the ground, a revolution or a war is going on and the good guys are loosing. At some point they send a dove to the girl and it gets shot down. I vaguely remember the video having a sad ending, as in, the girl not being freed. The video is shot as a mixture of live action when shoving the girl and (don't remember clearly, but I think) animated silhouettes when shoving fighting. Please guys, if anyone can find or remember anything about it, it would really make me sleep easier, it's bugging me like crazy!
openClassic Anime Anime
My very first anime was an anime that i found inside a cd case in the early 2000's my memory is so hazy but the only scene I remember(probably because it was my first time i had seen bare 2D breast) was that there was a girl inside a robot suit. I believe she was doing chores and her robot suit got discharged and she was left naked for the other characters to see thats when she freaked out and covered her body. Only scene I remember, never bothered to do any sort of asking because of the very little information i have of it but heres a go.
openTwo animations I can't find
Hey, there are two things bugging me that I remember but don't know the name of:
1. This one I used to watch when I was very young (early 2000s), probably on a VHS tape. It was an animated show (stop motion style I think?) about these little light brown aliens. I remember one of them had his eyes sticking out of the sides of his head instead of ears. The only episode I remember seemed to involve them recording some happy plants growing to help a farmer guy whose plants were sad.
2. This second one is more a music video. It was 3 or 4 animated girls with different coloured hair in space (I vaguely remember there was one with red hair and one with a blue afro). I don't know the lyrics but I seem to remember the phrase 'out of this world' being mentioned and a section in which they spelled out the name letter by letter, while the letters appeared on screen with the girls at the side. I remember seeing an advert saying that there was going to be an 'interactive show' involving these characters but I know I never actually saw it on TV, and I only saw the music video once.
Hope someone else remembers these and I'm not just crazy! I live in the UK and watched channels like Jetix/Fox Kids, Nickelodeon, Boomerang when I was young if that helps.
Edited by vpetmadopen[Solved] An anime/cartoon about sentient toys Anime
It was Uniminipet.
I am trying to remember an anime or cartoon, i have no idea about the name, but the title looked like Korean or Japanese. It was about a boy carrying a pendant and his toy friends, but they looked more like plushies. The most memorable toy was a blue cat afraid of snakes. Also there was another toy that was kind of obsessed with the boy. I remember a girl too, she had a weird ball shaped toy with three(?) legs and an antenna that was the antagonist for a long time, but she was unaware of that. the last thing i remember is a professor assisting the boy. I think the way i told it was kind of messed up but i can't remember anything else. Thanks for anyone trying to help.
Edited by KuribooopenObscure 90a VHS Film
I will be amazed if anyone knows what I am talking about. My mum bought me a VHS from a kida soft play thing in what was probably 1992ish. It had a weird name and had a few short films/animations on it. All I can remember is the first 'film' being an animated tiger and the one that really stands out is non animation with a boy and a witch? And he ends up in the witches house in the woods? It used to scare me to death. Thats all I can really remember, very obscure indeed.
the front of the vhs might have had a moon on it. id know it if i saw it. im sure the vhs haa a very strange title
thanks
openGame about decisions in nuclear apocalypse Videogame
I remember reading about a game on here. I think it was mainly a visual novel. You play as a female and you have to find shelter before a nuclear bomb falls? There were lots of decisions to make and the game will remember if you've played it before and alter events.
openRock song about being a criminal?
Okay, sorry for the details being vague. I'm trying to find a rock song. It was told from the perspective of a criminal in jail, and there's a line that repeats a lot. Something like "this is all I'll ever know" or "this is all I've ever known", something like that but I can't remember the exact phase. It sounds like it was made in the late 70s, maaaaaybe the early 80s. It kind of sounds like The Logical Song by Supertramp. I'd probably call it prog rock.
Edited by epicparadoxopenChildren's TV Show Western Animation
Details are very fuzzy - bear with me.
Aired in the early 90's, possibly on BBC One or Two. One storyline involved the antagonists (possibly called Plutokians, or Blutokians??) using traffic light to change the moods of people. So red would be angry, amber, happy, and green was sad. I may be confusing this next part with another tv show The protagonist had some special ability in that they could travel to places instantly.
Edited by Loopzopencreepy Japanese(?) CGI inanimate objects Western Animation
I'm posting this under Western Animation since there's a good chance this series is an import, though it may not be...I remember browsing the Japanese Cartoon Network site in 2005 or 2006 and scrolling through the menu of show icons across the top. Because the site lists not only series currently airing but numerous individual specials and movies, this menu goes on for an incredibly long time, and several series/characters showed up in multiple icons as I scrolled. One such group of characters were a bunch (maybe as many as ten within the frame after I clicked through) of incredibly bizarre-looking, almost frightening CGI household objects with facial features. I'm almost certain they were all electrical appliances, and one (maybe a TV) was decidedly larger than the rest. All of them had sprawling, creepy, open-mouthed smiles. I wasn't able to view any clips, just the stills; but I could tell the CGI wasn't very polished and the characters looked more like renders than a final product. It was absolutely nothing close to A Little Curious — these characters nearly looked like they wanted to hurt you (think much more along the lines of the "It's a B-Movie" sequence in The Brave Little Toaster). Apparently this bunch starred in more than one feature: maybe a series and a special, or multiple specials (and as stated earlier, it's likely this was an acquired property since many other oddballs were, and still are, part of their program list). Would love to finally know their identity after over a decade of being haunted...
Edited by mopsmirroropen2000s kids show Live Action TV
Not remembering the name of this show is driving me nuts. I was a kid in the 2000s watching it, but for some reason I hardly remember anything! I keep having weird flashbacks remembering that there was like a wall of little doors, or cubbies, or drawers, or something, and the main character (real person, not animated) would go and look in them. I have no idea why that’s the only thing I remember! It might have been on treehouse channel or PBS kids or something...
openPrisoner can see everyone's crimes except his own Literature
I'm 90% sure this is a Kafka story but for the life of me I can't find it. A man awakes inside an iron maiden and can see other iron maidens in front and to the side of him. Each one has a crime displayed on it, and people are walking past the iron maidens and sneering, jeering, etc. The man looks around but cannot see his own crime. When the crowd gets to him, they give the most exuberant display of distaste with his crime and react almost violently. The crime is never revealed to the character or the reader.
openOld tv series shown maybe 10 years ago
All I remember was that there were 4 or 5 friends with (I think) super powers, once they lose their powers and ask some special guys with red, white and black costumes to return them, but they do not agree. Then those people just fight without powers and when those special guys see that they return their powers. Sorry, I almost cannot remember these series, however, they fragments of it usually appear in my head so I just want to find out what are these.
openWeird travel game? Videogame
I have a vivid memory of playing a PC game where you walk around on a flat monochrome map trying to do something. Once you achieve that, you could board a train or flight to get to another map. You also had an energy meter where if it ran out, you'd fall asleep for a while to restore it. It could also change from day and night. You could play as either a male or a female, who were also monochrome like the map. The CD had a monochrome globe on it as well. I played this when I was about 5-7 (2005-2007). I don't remember what language it was in because I didn't really know how to read when I played it.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Or was this just some weird dream I remember very vividly?
openEarly 90s kid’s show Live Action TV
There was this TV show in the early 90s that was live-action, like it wasn’t a cartoon, but I don’t know if there were people in it. I honestly don’t remember any characters, just the setting. There was a tree in this courtyard surrounded by old looking buildings, and then inside one of the buildings the furniture was covered in white sheets and I think the characters of the show like lived in the walls or something, but again, I have no memory of what the characters were, just the scenery. Any ideas?
openFlooded Valley? Literature
When I was a kid I read a book from the local library, and I haven’t been able to remember the name of the book for years and it’s really bugging me. So in the book, two warrens of rabbits? live in a Valley which gets flooded to make a reservoir? The ‘good’ warren prepared for it and built a boat, but the ‘bad’ warren just lay around, and ended up getting rescued by the good warren when the valley floods. The ‘grandmothers’ of the two warrens end up becoming friends. Two kids on the shore of the new reservoir see the little boat and I think they threw a stick at it, but they ended up getting shrunk and stuck on the boat. The boat ends up in a parallel world where the valley isn’t flooded, but the two kids are sad because they are stuck in a parallel world and can’t get home. I think they do manage to get home at the end.
openUnknown Film
It was about this detective lady investigating this writer because all the murders from his novel were coming true. Turns out the writer had a female lover/fan who was actually doing the murders as they were written after publication. I think she got off on it, while he liked the publicity. I don't remember much else, besides one of the victims being a young couple of camping. They were swimming in a creek when the boy goes to pee, but gets pinned to a tree with a crossbow bolt. Then the killer chases the girl for a while before shooting her too. There's a bit at the end when the writer is trying to kill the detective, saying how there's no case if there's no body, which I think are Arc words in the writers novel, but the detective manages to overpower him and kill him.
openHarry Potter fansite? Web Original
This is an old one but I remember back before the movies/in the early days of harry potter fandom there was this one website where people submitted song parodies about harry potter or little musical skits where the characters sing.
It was primarily a text based site but had image illustrations on the main page and as headers where it was fanart of the harry potter characters in some sort of music related scenario, always black and white if I remember correctly.
I can't remember what the site was called but would love to see even an archived/cache'd version of any part of it for nostalgia/fandom history reasons.

Hey all!
My friend and I are looking for an old game we played together in elementary school. It was a tactics-based where you would deploy your units near a building of importance. I can't remember if it was a church or a castle, but it was definitely something of the sort.
These units were often assigned into companies, or squads - or, in the case of the 'superman' as we called him (he wore a red cape, don't judge us!), all on his lonesome. You could deploy archers, swordsmen, and the 'superman', whom I now understand to be a Wizard of some kind; he created fireballs/meteors. - I believe there was cavalry, and a commander, too, but don't quote me on that.
Anyway, after having placed our units, the skeletons would spawn. These skeletons also moved in groups like your own units. They had units that mirrored our own; archers, footsoldiers, and a skeletal wizard, etc.
During the battle, little portraits would come up of the units - depicting them shouting orders, like "Open fire!", the skeletal mage saying something about "You're surrounded", or maybe it was "close around them" - we really didn't have a good enough grasp of english to understand back then. It would also depict them when an entire unit was wiped out, or when they were fleeing in surrender.
The Game was among the many demos on a cereal-box promotion disk (I seem to recall it being a small disc). And we cannot for the life of us remember what it was called. We do know that we played it roughly 15 years ago, as we did not have that good an understanding of the english language and that was around the time we began to have english in elementary school. (We thought 'Open fire!' meant that there was a literal open fire burning somewhere. We never found one and it puzzled me for years afterward.) I also believe there was a demo of Descent amongst the other games on the disk, as we played that too, and I firmly remember it only having three levels.
