openTV Show about a robot kid Live Action TV
I'm trying to find a show I once saw a family member watching. I can't remember the name of it. It was set in the far future. The technology was very advanced. There might of been an asteroid mining mission. The main character was a robotic kid. He had artificial intelligence. The boy looked no older then 10. The robot's hair was short, brown and curly. He looked 100% human. He was being raised or watched by his "mother". The parents tried to put him into a school but they rejected him because he was not human. His father died at some point (before or after the timeline of the show). I remember a specific scene where the kid was at a museum talking to an informational robot (IR). The IR was talking about humans and their history, stating the boy was homosapien because he was human. The robot boy replied he wasn't. The IR asked "What do you mean?". Just as the boy was going to respond, he was rushed else where. I vaguely remember a scene where the mother (which I think was kidnapped) gave birth to a baby (which I think the kidnappers gave her). She had hallucinations or dreams about typing on a keypad which killed the baby or something. Please help me identify this TV show.
openScary Pale Puppet Woman (Children's TV?) Live Action TV
Trying to remember this has been doing my head in for years to the point where I wonder if it was real or not. It was either very late 90's or early 2000's. I seem to remember it being on CITV for some reason despite it being intentionally scary. I remember a man in his home who had a suitcase (not sure if it was his or he was given/found it) and when he sat by his window in his living room a scary pale puppet of a woman came out of the suitcase and the puppet was alive. The man thought he was going mad and took the suitcase, left the house and threw it into a river. When he got back to his house he made a cup of tea and went back into his living room which was now really dark and the suitcase and puppet were there again and the puppet came out and spoke to him. That's all I remember. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could have been?
openTrying to find two live action older kids science shows/videos Live Action TV
When I was about six, I had two science shows meant for kids a bit older on VHS(this was around 2003-2004, and these could have been fairly old.) I just can't find either.
The first one I think I had several tapes of. It is extremely likely this one was made by NASA, because I think I found them years later but didn't mess with them. It involved a group of kids, doing and talking about different science things, and visiting places like field trips. I think their main place was a clubhouse. There were parts of it with an animated skunk newscaster on TV.
The other one I feel might be harder to find, though more likely to have been something that actually aired on TV. I had one tape with like 6 episodes. This one consisted of various short segments. One segment in like four of the episodes I had was about a talking head in a green jar. In one of the episodes, he looked different, so I think it was from a different season. I suspected this one might have been Newton's Apple, but I could find no evidence of such a character in it. Could have missed it though.
openSyfy Live Action TV
Man escapes room closing in on him with skeleton keys with woman beside himself. Then they encounter a room with a rack of weapons. Then there is a scene with a lady in a red dress in a dark room sitting on a chair. At the end of the episode a man says whoever was watching was definitely testing us.
openKids parents turn into monsters late at night Live Action TV
I think it was an ( anthology) TV show from the 1980s. All I remember is a boy whose parents make him go to bed every night and stay asleep all night and make sure not to get up. Then one night he stays up really late and watches his parents turn into grotesque monsters and finds out that all adults turn into monsters late at night and then turn back into regular people in the morning
openHistorical Artifact Teen Show??? Live Action TV
I can't remember this one show that I saw with my family, I think I saw it on tv around 2007-2009. The show had 3 teenagers as the main characters, one was a wild blond haired boy who's parent's died and had to go live with distinct relatives, another was a brown or black haired boy who the blond boy had to live with, the last main character was a girl who I can't remember too well. The main theme was about history(it also could have been sci-fi) or artifacts. I can only recall snippets of the episodes, one being very specific;the black haired teen asked the blond teenager "do you drive," or "can you drive?" and there was a flashback to a young blond haired boy climbing in the front seat of his parents jeep and crashing it into rocks. Another memory is the three teens are looking for something/someone or they were being chased/followed in a greenhouse, but another person outside the greenhouse put sleeping gas or poison gas in the sprinkler system, I can't remember too much from this memory but I know one of the teens or two of them passed out from it and the screen might of went blurry.
openBBC Show where a politicians child is kidnaped Live Action TV
A BBC show where a politicians child was kidnapped and for some reason the nanny was a major character I think? circa 2010ish and I think it only had one series, I also think the programme began with an M and as well as scenes in london was set in somewhere like the highlands for a short time but I could be wrong.
Many Thanks!
openseries about Native Americans, circa 1980 Live Action TV
This is immensely annoying, because I managed to track down this and the other piece I'm asking about three or four years ago, but I've lost the file in which I wrote down their details, so I need to find them again
This one is a live-action US TV series, made in the late 1970s or very early 1980s and possibly in black and white. It was called something similar to People of the Wind, but that's not quite right. It was a drama about life in a Native American Plains village riound about the time the white man first arrived.
In the episode I remember best, they meet their first white man, a lost French trapper with a heavy beard. They have never seen someone with so much facial hair before. You get a lovely romantic shot of tipis glowing like lanterns in the night, then a close-up of one in which there are about ten people all snoring in different keys. Then the youngest boy gets up and sneaks round the edge of the tent to the Frenchman and feels his beard to see if it's real, and after him the rest of his family all do the same, one by one in ascending order of age. There was also an episode which had to do with a boy raised by wolves. I believe there were six or eight episodes made, four of which were shown on British tv in the early '80s.
openTv show about sisters running their fathers business Live Action TV
A few years ago I watched this show about two sisters (one pretty and one ugly) who had to come together and run their fathers fashion/clothing business (i think its clothing related) and they didnt like each other very much. Details are a bit fuzzy but ive been trying to find this show again ever since!
open"I'm Roger McGough, and I'm off" Live Action TV
Any British tropers here watch a TV show around the 90's featuring the poems of Roger Mc Gough? I have vivid memories of it, but can't think of a title and it's driving me mad that there doesn't seem to be any record of it online.
openCorny show I can't seem to find the name of Live Action TV
Live action show about a high school or middle school student that keeps having sci-fi scenarios happen to him. Probably from the late 90's or early 2000's. Aired in Canada. Here are some episodes I remember.
1) He orders a machine from a newspaper. When he gets the machine it is just a decorated cardboard box. He goes to the newspaper office and complains. The newspaper employee shows him that the fine print of the ad says that the machine may not look as advertised or do the things the ad saids it can. The employee then smugly saids that everything that their paper saids is true (turns out the newspaper makes things that are written in it true somehow). Some time later they are asking the protagonist how many people should die in a story they are writing. The employee thinks it should be eight because it sounds sadder to him. He asks the protagonist the question like this "what do you think sounds sadder, fourteeen or eiiiight."
2) The protagonist's older sister meets a woman that makes beauty products. At some point the sister willingly allows herself to have a plastic mask affixed to her face (she also wears a blonde wig, and maybe a pink dress that matches the woman's aswell). She looks like she is in a Halloween costume. The brother narrates "when some one loves you they'll sometimes call you a doll, but now I'm afraid that [woman's name] is trying to make my sister into her plaything." The mask will break if the sister thinks too hard. The brother decides to give her a math problem to solve (as she has a love for math). She does the math problem, the mask cracks and she peels it off.
Edited by YamopenLate 2000s/Early 2010s show live action show about "body snatcher" immortality Live Action TV
I remembered this series earlier today, I thought the series was called "Sheppards" or "Shepherds" and the tag-line was "what goes around comes around", but I can't find it anywhere, I think it aired on Space channel and had multiple seasons.
The series took place in our world with the supernatural element being that people could achieve a type of immortality by focusing on an object as they died, being placed in a new body and then the object being used to bring their consciousness back in the new body (I thought the people that were hired to make this happen were called shepherds and that's where the title came from).
I know she wasn't the main most character, but one of the major characters was a little girl who was sharing her body with the spirit of a man who had gone through the process multiple times with her parents becoming concerned by some of the resulting behaviour. In one of the final episodes she convinces a classmate to skip school with her, but the classmate gets scared off after a while and the girl ends up comatose with the two consciousnesses meeting on a beach in the girl's mind; the man thinks he's won control of the body and the girl's personality will die, but the girl tells him she's won because of her strong desire to stay with her parents and wakes up in the hospital as the only person in her body and seems to have a fairly normal life afterwards.
I know there was also a scene with a couple where the man was dying of an injury and his wife/girlfriend hurried to get an object that could be used to bring him back
I tried checking trope pages and thought the series might be "Dollhouse", but looking at it I'm pretty sure it wasn't
Edited by Poppun-chanopenI apologise for the vagueness Live Action TV
It was a TV show about two best friends (maybe even brothers?) who would dare each other to do stuff. Early 2000's, probably on MTV. They were either American or Canada. Live action.
openGerman/Russian TV Spy Drama? Live Action TV
I remember a scene where a woman has a man at gunpoint and they exchange a few words and she pulls the trigger multiple times but the gun wasn't loaded, he then ties her to a chair and leaves. Later on, a different guy shows up to rescue her and she throws a thumbs up sign
openLooking for a kids show that was a sci fi Live Action TV
The show was either live action or animated. It aired during either the late 90's or the early 2000's. The main character was a boy. I don't remember much about the show, but I know that the toys had removable arms, heads, and legs that could be swapped between different toys. The toys included, a human boy, a human girl, a robot, a green alien, an orange alien, and a lot more. I think the main character had the ability to turn his body parts into other people's body parts or something. I remember that some knockoff versions of the toys were released as happy meals. The robot only had one eye. I can't remember much else.
openTeens in a dystopian like world (sci-fi) Live Action TV
So I really can only remember one episode, and vaguely at that. It had a very animorphs feel to it, and it was set in some kind of dystopian land. These kids have some kind of power I think, and are wandering/running away from a villain in the desert, when they meet this hermit like man, and he teaches them how to keep a part of their mind if the villian takes it. I'm pretty sure it was a form of psychic lobotomy or something. I think there was narrating at the end of the episode. It aired in the US sometime in the late 90s early 2000s. Vague I know, but it's driven me crazy for years so any help would be great.
open90's Educational Math Show? Live Action TV
I remember watching a show in school involving a girl that was friends with a rabbit, and there was a witch involved. I'm pretty sure it had some sort of the mathematics focus. If anyone has any idea what the show was called, or what it might be called it would be much appreciated :)
Edited by jaken97openDisturbing Kids Show Where Main Character Takes Out His Eyes Live Action TV
I watched a lot of stuff on ABC/BBC as a kid back in the late 90's, but no one but me seems to know of this show. I remember watching a show done with puppets like The Muppets that had a few characters that were animals like dogs or cats that lived in a forest I think. The big defining detail about this show was the main character (who i am pretty sure was a white wolf or something) that had the ability to remove his eyes and send them off like a bird into the sky, and they would show him stuff from really far away. It was used to help his friends get out of danger and the like, and I think later in the series he was able to do the same with his hands. It never really bothered me as a kid, but when I got a bit older I really started to wonder how something like that was approved for a kid's series. It has been bugging me for years that I can't remember the name, especially since I would actually like to watch it again (believe it or not, but the show was actually quite calming and pleasant for the most part). Is there at least someone out there who knows what the hell I'm talking about? It would be really nice to know that at least one other person came across this strange show.

Anyone remember the name of the short lived police series that aired at the end of 1979 or in the early 80's. They drove a yellow chevy nova In a few episodes and the team consisted of a woman and 2 men. This show started a little bit after the Starsky and Hutch series ended.
