openBook with villain manipulating people and events Literature
All I know is that: A) It’s a fantasy book series B) The “main” villain is/was nicknamed something like “The Man with the Pointy Hat”, since he is a wizard archetype C) Said villain is manipulating individuals and events throughout the series, for some strange, mysterious reason
Any help what this book series is please…?
openKnight against dragons Videogame
It was an old 2D mobile game, that was remove a few years back from the Play Store.
The player was a knight, jumping and swinging a sword between two rock walls, from which dragons of different kind emerged. There were flying dragons and green ground dragons, all of which spit fireballs at you. Once you defeated a boss that arrived every fifth wave, you would get coins that you could spent at a shop to get stronger, like more health, more damage, or cool combos.
I remember it was created by people who did a club-penguin like game, which was also shut down. I'm not sure if it was french-only or not though. I do remember that the players had the same appearance as the game, which is a ball for the head, two feet, and that was it.
Edited by r4d6openAnimated music video from a few years back Music
I really distinctly remember this animated music video I used to watch (on Youtube) all the time back sometime in 2013-2015 or so, it had what looked like high detailed cutout paper(?) animation of a child running from a wolf and other creatures (or maybe the same one morphing into other things), at one point getting swallowed by a whale, and at the end ending up in a blank white space. The song itself I think had a beat very similar to Rolling in the Deep by Adele, but I can't remember anything else about it.
openMusic video. Small animated animals being attacked whilst band plays. Music
I can’t remember the name of a song, or the band, where in the video the band plays in an animated forest and small animated animals come to listen but are being attacked by something in the dark. I think it’s Australian and the drummer is wearing a military cap. Searching for related references just gets me children’s videos about Australian animals.
openArticle about chinese/korean pay to win game Web Original
A few years ago I read an article telling the story of a woman who signed up for a heavily monetized game, the thing is I cannot remember the name of the game but I do remember the rest of its title: Gambling your life away in (game).
In the article, the woman tells the story about how she started as a low level character and once she got lucky by landing the last hit on a high level military dude making her the queen of her realm. After this she got tired of how the game encouraged PVP at every opportunity to see who would spend more money and finally she quit the game.
Edited by Naspahresolved Fake "Wrong Name Outburst" in webcomic Webcomic
There was this scene with Alice and Bob in bed together. At some point, Carol (probably Bob's ex, but I'm not sure of that) walks in on them, leading Bob to say "Carol?" in confusion.
Unfortunately, Alice somehow notices neither the lighting change from opening the door nor Bob's obvious shift in tone, nor the noise of the door opening and closing; she mistakes it from a Wrong-Name Outburst, and kicks Bob out of the bed / breaks up with him.
I was particularly stung by how contrived it was (both from Bob only saying Carol's name and not, say, "Close the door!" or "Out!" or anything else, and from Alice's obliviousness) but don't remember the comic itself.
Edit: Found it thanks to ~Ngamer11, that was in Juvenile Diversion:
- Wrong-Name Outburst: Kyle blurts out Meg's name
while having sex with Jenny because he catches her peeking on them. Unfortunately, Jenny doesn't see Meg and gets angry at Kyle for doing this.
openEarly/mid 2000s Canadian show Western Animation
There was a show my brother and I watched as a child we have vague memories of that we’ve tried to find. It was (at least in parts I remember) animated and Canadian (may have been a Nelvana or Teletoon show). One of the few things I remember is that it took place in a movie theater and a talking Canada Goose was one of the main characters (he may have worn a red beret??). I remember watching it in the mornings at around the same timeslot as Dragon Booster (which aired from 2004-2006), although it may not have been on the same channel. The show likely aired around or before those years since I would remember more details of it was later. I can’t remember if it was an anthology series or not. I think in one storyline the goose directed an independent black and white art house film with a closeup shot of a tear rolling down his face, it might have been about his life. Any help is appreciated It may have been on CBC and there was also a sketch with a haunted scarecrow on a farm!
Edited by ecrutweakeropenMusic Video Robot Girl with surgery Music
The video alternate between the female singer singing on stage and the singer in a surgery-like room with doctors doing stuff to her robotic body. Except in the moments where we can see the mechanical insides, the girl looks fully human.
openNo Title Web Original
I am looking for a very specific old youtube video with Tensou Sentai Goseiger (so at least 13 years old at most) that show a montage of the show's mech up to Hyper Gosei Great with only music in the video. I know it probably is deleted long ago since it is that long ago, but I wanted to see if it's still up or not.
openWeird Sea Animatronics Web Original
It was like showing some animatronics from an aquarium place. The only animatronic I remember was an octopus holding various cooking knives In the showcase, it was the fnaf 2 office but repainted
open80s British horror/possession TV (mini?) series/film Live Action TV
Suggested I should post this here.
Right! A little obscure here. 80's British TV show/mini-series/film about a possessed teenage girl. Set in a pretty normal urban British household. Myself and my sister both remember so I know I didn't dream it 😁. I only really remember one scene, the mother comes into the bedroom and the daughter is twisted into a weird pose with a scissors stuck in her shoulder/chest/clavicle. It's wrecking our heads for years here as all both of us can remember is that scene. I've tried many different Google searches and come up with nothing.
I know it's not: Hammer House of Horror/Mystery, Tales of the Unexpected, Dramarama, Ghostwatch, Moondial, Dead of Night.
Cheers
openEastern-European cartoon about a sucicidal man. Western Animation
In the tropes Bungled Suicide and Happily Failed Suicide, there's a mention on the Western Animation folders that there's an 80's Eastern-European short about "a despondent man trying to kill himself, but when he's faced by robbers, he gives away all of his posession, clothes included, and ends up happy and appreciating life after being spared". I can't find anything about this short on the web, and a twitter account stated that this short is probably non-existant. Anybody knows what the short is called?
openTwo French cartoons Western Animation
There are two french cartoons I don't know the names of: one is am anthropomorphic lion who wears a red cape and has a tiny chihuahua as his best friend; the other is a white cat with a Smug Smile who loves to play pranks on others. My only knowledge from those shows was from a user called "Sibada The Toon Lord". Have any of you seen these shows before and do you know what they're called?
Edited by ToonAbbyopenTV Shows/Movies not present on TV Tropes
Hey, there is one thing that I've been wondering. We have a lot of TV Shows and Movies pages present on TV Tropes, but I remember there are more which aren't there yet because I searched for some pages that aren't available here yet whenever I try to find it's page. But it's a huge list so can you guys point out which all TV shows/movies haven't been added here yet (the ones released past 20-30 years before 2023) for example Buster's Mal Heart starring Rami Malek and directed by Sarah Adina Smith.
openPSA about elder abuse Live Action TV
I remember seeing a series of 3 PSA on elder abandonment a while ago, but I can't find them anymore.
The first one has a cheery song playing in the background while a homeless elderly man goes about his day. The tagline is "He has reasons to be optimistic, his life can't get any worse."
I can't remember much about the second one, other than that it's an old lady and the tagline is something like "She'll live another ten years, fewer, if she's lucky."
The third one's tagline is something like "Many elderly people suffer from memory problems, their families forget they exist."
openA sh*tpost show with a questionable sense of humor Live Action TV
I think I saw it somewhere around 2010 (show could be a bit older or around that time). I don't remember the name, but I remember the sorts of skits that were present:
- some chick that dated a CGI raptor named "Philip" and the problems coming out of such relationship
- a giant robot, that constantly destroyed buildings (one of those times was 'cause he lost his keys)
- some super hero casting episodes - there was a guy that could literally just burn (no flying, no super strength... Just constant burning non-stop) and some dude in an arachnid suit (not Spider Man suit. Literally just a spider suit) with an ability to sh*t quite a weak web.
- random quick skits with random folk (airfield worker shooing off planes and these said planes flying off like birds, for example)
Edited by WackyRdudeopenUnknow Book Literature
So bit of an odd one thats been driving me nuts, the book from what i remember was in a city that was in a kingdom that was slowly failing to invaders. The main characters were a pair of inventors who were trying to invent a cannon, with a friend in the city guard. They were broke and almost arrested when their patron died owing a lot of money. Without any other option they threw themselves at an old wealth house to get a new patron, which turned out to be the patriarchs grand-daughter (maybe daughter) holding the family together since the patriarch was money/noble oriented. They traded a toy steam ball on the promise they could make one that would power a ship against the wind. While siphoning as much money as the could to the cannon project
The two eventually hit on the idea of using a bellfounder to cast the cannon. And equipped a ship with a proto steam engine. One of thier helpers turned out to be a relative to a pirate family/clan and escaped the cities sacking with the ship while they escaped with the bronze case cannon/thier notes and the patrons daughter
They went on to found a secret science community while pretending to be priests.
For the life of me i cant recall the title or author of the series
openMobile Game (J?)RPGs from the early 2010s Videogame
I'm thinking about this series of RP Gs, they may have been JRP Gs, that I used to play like 9 or 10ish years ago on iPad I remember there were like 4 entries, each one with a different story. It was a top-down OG Zelda-like traversal system with a western fantasy setting and somewhat Japanese sort of designs? I remember very little except that in one of the entries you play as a dark elf who eventually changes his ways. And in another entry you play as some sort of (probably) blonde ranger. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

I was going through one of my old childhood devices, found an old iPod thing that had some kid show episodes built in. One was about two bugs trying to follow a straight path to reach a party. I do not recognize this show, does anyone remember?
