openWhat's the show where there was a family who had a conflict with elderly Live Action TV
I don't exactly remember and don't know how to describe it but as you seen the video the major factors are:
-some teenage girl who often becomes a Butt-Monkey -her younger brother a deliquent -a friend with a cowboy hat who has some shapeshi(f)ting abilities -a mother who doesn't approve her daugther behavior -and a house maiden (grandma maybe not sure), who usually plays the antagonist role in the story
This video is the only source i could find from my memory. I can't find it on this site either, was looking through some tropes and got nothing.

openTake off pants Live Action TV
TV series in which a woman knocks on the door of a man dressed only in briefs, and before he opens it she takes off her pants.
openPsychology professor guy meets cute with woman, his neighbors all get involved Live Action TV
It's a one season show, short even. The professor guy either meets or sees the woman and tries to track her down. Meanwhile she is a caterer, I think, also involved with the university, and they keep missing each other. His neighbors are always in his apartment, causing a ruckus and giving advice. One of them is pregnant through the course of the show. They finally get together last episode I think. It was supercute and funny, but I can't remember the name. I do remember that the producers were two first time producers, because they loved the script and wanted to make the show. Maybe from around 10,15 years ago. (I think it also had different names in different countries.) would appreciate any clues/actual name, thank you!
Edited by lonhexopenall i remember is 1 minor character Live Action TV
This was an American Netflix (I think?) show, and all I remember is a Japanese actress as a minor character who guarded an old family home and carried around a shotgun. She had been guarding the house for like 10 or 100 years? Supernatural vibes, sort of Umbrella Academy-Sense 8-Dirk Gently kind of vibe? I remember the actress being SO pretty, and there's a scene where she kisses one of the main characters on the back of a moving train and then pushes him off onto the tracks, I think to save his life in some way. I remember the show being modern, but she wore like 20th century clothing (long skirt and blouse thing). The show was fairly recent I think, within the last 5 years.
resolved Comedy sketch about begging country Live Action TV
I recall a sketch on a sketch comedy series from some time in the 1980s which was an "in depth report" about some 3rd/4th world country whose only product is begging. The President/PM/etc. is chosen by who can beg the best. It shows the president/PM/etc. driving up in his limousine to a poor street beggar. The president then begs at the street beggar, who gives the President a bit of fluff/dust from his begging bowl. My memory, which may not be correct, is that the president is played by Richard Deacon and that the show was Not Necessarily the News, but a skim of IMDB suggests that one or both of these are wrong since according to that Richard Deacon never appeared on _NNtN_ or any other sketch comedy series. Thanks.
openStop-Motion/Puppet Piano Telling Jokes, possibly British Live Action TV
I'm not sure if this is from a movie, TV show, or something else, but I'm having trouble tracking down the source of a clip I found on Twitter.
The clip was of a stop-motion piano that looked like this:

It talked (by flapping its "keyboard lid" up and down), and the man who voiced it was... not very intelligible.
It opened its "comedy show" (to offscreen, canned, applause) by saying "Ladies and gentlemen... my impression of [unintelligible]". The unintelligible name, by the way, sounded like "Glen Kegall" but I looked up that name (and a few variants) and didn't get anything. The announcement was followed by a laugh track.
It then said "Him at a [unintelligible]" and did what can only be described as a "leg dab", which the canned laughter thought was really funny.

Then it said, possibly, "Him and a girl" and did the same thing, with the laugh track again finding it hilarious.
And then, it Non Sequitere'd to "And leave the rest. to. me." (with each period representing a "leg dab"). The "audience" thought this was uproarious. Then they clapped, and then the clip ended.
For those who think they might be able to actually figure out what the piano is saying, here's the Twitter post
. Note that the reference to Oscar's Orchestra was just done as a joke- this is not that cartoon.
openPhoto shoot from sitcom. Live Action TV
Episode of a sitcom ending with a group photo shoot where one guy in the back makes successful diegetic attempts to keep everyone smiling. ("Nobody look at me!")
openA show that had only a pilot episode Live Action TV
So a while ago while browsing random videos on Youtube, I found a pilot episode of a show that only had that pilot episode, and then got canceled for some reason. It's been a few years since I watched it and I only remember the ending of that pilot episode. Btw, I'm not sure if she was a spy or special agent. But I know most of the episode played during nighttime and it was a American show.
Okay so, the main character is a female spy, and at the end of the pilot episode she was fighting another female spy on the rooftops at night. The female spy was wearing a mask/pantyhose to hide her identity, but once she got unmasked by the main character, the other female spy appeared to be a friend of hers(She had blonde hair). The main character eventually overpowered the other female spy. That's as much as I can remember about the pilot episode.
There was also a side character who was an Asian man. It is very vague, I know and the chance of someone knowing which show I'm talking about is very slim(especially since it only had a pilot episode), but I'm shooting a shot anyway.
openPBS Kids Show Live Action TV
Okay, so I watched this show in Texas one Sunday morning as a kid sometime in the early to mid 2000s. It was an educational sort of variety show on different subjects. I am pretty sure it was all live action, but not certain. The things I do remember for sure are that there was a segment about money, and the ending theme.
Really, this is mostly for the ending theme, as it has been stuck in my head ever since. I think I found the name once on Wikipedia a year or so ago(searched again now and no dice), but when I looked for clips there was not a single one on Youtube. I think it said that it hopped from local channel to local channel and has an old website with no clips either. (Unless I mixed it up with In The Mix at that point, which I totally could have).
The ending theme started with something about it being time to go and then the chorus "I hope you learned what you needed to know" again and again.
Best I can tell it is not In The Mix, and it is not Biz Kids, as their ending themes don't match, though I think Biz Kids visuals and style are closest to what I remember. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone remember if there was a tabletop rpg based on Grimm, or am I just making things up?
openScience-Fantasy Dinosaurs and Magic Live Action TV
For years, I've been trying to figure out a TV show (or possibly movie) that I saw a snippet of on TV in either the late 90's or very early 2000's. There are two scenes that I remember distinctly:
In one, a group of what appear to be pirates (or maybe just adventurers armed with flintlock weapons) is being attacked by a flying reptile-monster (possibly a pterodactyl), and when they run for cover, they realize they've dropped a glowing, apparently valuable, gemstone out in the open. One pirate orders his subordinate to go get it, who in turn does the same to another pirate at gunpoint. When the low-man-on-the-totem-pole pirate goes to try and grab the gem, he gets snatched up by the maybe-pterodactyl and carried away.
In another scene, an African-American character, who is dressed as what seems to be a shaman or monk is trying to fight off a raptor or other predatory dinosaur as it tries to enter where he is through some kind of portal. I remember this scene as taking place in either a temple or cave.
The shows/movies that I am reasonably sure are NOT the one I'm describing are:
1. Land of the Lost - either series 2. The Lost World (the late 90's TV show) 3. Hallmark's Mysterious Island or Journey to the Center of the Earth
This has driven me crazy trying to find, so any help is appreciated!
Edited by LUNAT1CopenShows with a total of 3 seasons and 27 episodes Live Action TV
Hi all. I'm doing some research into the structure of TV dramas and thought I'd ask here if anybody knows of any shows that fit the criteria in the title, above (i.e. were shown for a total of 3 seasons and 27 eps).
Have tried to search on IMDB, but can't find how to use the required search strings (if anyone knows, please advise); Chat GPT keeps giving me incorrect answers, as much as I had fun looking there. So, I thought I'd try the deep well of knowledge that is TV Tropes, to see if anyone can help.
Thanks in advance.
Edited by SnitzopenREALLY scary Star Trek episode commercial. Can anyone identify Live Action TV
So in the mid 90s or so I was watching tv and there was this ad for an upcoming Star Trek episode (I'm not sure which series, I've never really been into Star Trek and I don't think I even knew about the different series at the time) that scared the crap out of me. It started out talking about how people such as prisoners of war have been tortured throughout history (including what I thought at the time was a clip showing real life torture, though I am probably wrong) then went on to say something about how in the episode the good guys would encounter some alien race that "turn torture into a science" or something along those lines. I remember I recording some other show when the ad came on and kept watching it as even though it was really scary I was still kind of interested in it. Does anyone know what I am talking about?
resolved Show about people with powers that ends with a cliffhanger Live Action TV
This show was about how people with powers who were working for the police, and all i remember was about how it ended on a cliffhanger with a few details.
I remember that some old dude was looking for the bad guy who was planning on mentally shutting down all the people in the world/city for some reason, and then it happens that his plan succeeds and the final shot is how we see everyone passed out around the city, but a guy with the power of technology (i think) is the only one who was unaffected by the blast for some reason, and then the show ends.
openLive Acton TV show from the early 1990s - similar to Herman's Head Live Action TV
Dear Tropers,
I can remember this TV series from the early 1990s. I think it came just after Herman's Head as it reminded me of this - unique - series.
If the protoganist thought something then sometimes his 'thoughts' were being depicted by showing old black & white footage from old movies.
For example (sorry for this specific example):
The protoganist became sexually aroused (played for laughs of course) then briefly black and white footage of a rocket that just had been launched was shown.
Any idea what this series was called?
openPolice / Investigation Drama from the mid-1980s about 'older cases' in a small town Live Action TV
Things I know for sure about this:
- It was a US TV series from the (probably mid-) 1980s - It was about a relative young police officer starting to work in a relatively small town (maybe even a village) - This officer was looking through the archives/files of previous years and start to investigate these
- The ending was:
An older gentleman turned out to be the killer of a police officer years and years ago. This young police officer contronted him. No proof. But then....
This officer (or a colleague) stumbeled over 'a tube or something'. Only: this 'tube' turned out to be part of a police motor cycle.. that wa buried in the ground years and years ago. The older gentleman saw these officers digging up this old motor cylcle and took his rifle and tried to shoot the officers. As for as I can remember this older gentleman was killed then in the fire fight.
Anyone knows the name of this TV series?
FOR DUTCH/FLEMISH TV TROPERS:
I am very sure this TV series was broadcast on the Veronica 'network'.
openGuy in Haunted House Confronted by Two Ghosts Live Action TV
I am desperately trying to identify something I saw as a kid. This is everything I remember. This would have aired on local TV (not cable/satellite) in either the late 80s, or early 90s (not after fall of 1992). A man is near or at a railroad. He's offered a place to stay for the night and is taken to a house. In front of the house are three crosses, one smaller than the other two, I believe it is said a family was killed there. While the man is staying there overnight (I think I remember a deck of playing cards for some reason?), two ghosts, possibly one white and one red, appear and fly towards the screen. This is all I remember. Scared the shit out of me, and I would kill to find out what this is. Major thanks in advance. I listed it as "live action TV" but I can't rule out it was a movie. I know it was on at least twice.

I don't know why this is suddenly coming back into my mind, but I recall it being a live action show from the early 90s, it was either Disney Channel or Nick (since Cartoon Network didn't do live action yet), and I recall it was a group of teens who hung out with some kind of robot who could have very well been an early Teletubby before Teletubbies were even a thing. The robot had a TV set for a body, and I believe a VHS tape for a head (with the spools for his eyes, and the actual tape ribbons for his hair) - I seem to recall he also spoke like a Surfer Dude.
