openPeriod Drama/Romance I can't Remember Film
I used to volunteer at my local library, reshelving booms and movies and such. Anyway, I came across this one film once that kinda sparked my interest, but I never did watch it, and now I can't remember what it's called and can't seem to dig it up by plot. It's a period drama, set in the late 1700's or very early 1800's, before the slave trade was abolished in the UK. From what I remember reading the back of the VHS box (yes, this was on VHS, just before they become fully obsolete in favour of DV Ds and libraries still stocked them) the plot concerns a young women, an intellectual, who's in a loveless marriage with man who's very much not an intellectual. Her husband's job is receiving slaves and training them for service in upper class households in England and the heroine aides him in this, reluctantly I think. Anyway, she meets one of the slaves, a man who happens to be very educated, and as intellectual as she is. And anyway, supposedly, forbidden romance blooms. The box cover had a still of the said slave carrying the women over some water, I think, if that helps.
Edited by SisiopenOld sci fi Film
Hello, I am looking for an old Sci-Fi movie/Tv show. All i remember is a desert setting(planet?) and a protagonist in a red space jump suit meeting The Big Bad who turned out to be his thought dead brother/friend. The Big Bad had black hair and a silver jump suit. Don't recall what exactly transpired between them, just some blaster action, but in the end the big bad realised his mistakes and did something heroic(possibly sacrificed himself) to save the day. I think he survived and after a heartfelt conversation with the protagonist flew away in an old-school little space ship. I probably got some facts mixed up, so even if you know of something even a little simmilar, i would still apreciate it.
Edited by heavyrainopenWhat is the name of that older TV Series and Episode kids Show Film
What's the name of that tv series and episodes maybe from late 90's to 2000's where there's a kind of a war between a group of kids chasing after another group of kids on Hover craft motor cycles and it's set in the future and theres kids in a raft or boat with a orange glowing energy source or generator ball named ojay and the orange ball talks and I think is from another planet. If anyone knows the name of this older tv show please let me know ASAP. Thank You P.S. The TV Show Might be similar in a way to the show Grand Star where there are no rules or laws in a world with an apocalyptic and/or dystopian society future.
resolved Film with DisastrousDemonstration where AIIsACrapshoot scene... Film
What Live Action Film has a Disastrous Demonstration where A.I. Is a Crapshoot, due to the AI being made from (a criminal's / criminals') mind(s)...?
And I think it has, or had, an article on The Other Wiki...
openBad CGI Animated Movie From the 2010s Film
I'm looking for a really low quality CGI animated movie from the 2010s - I remember it had a bunch of mismatched characters like a green bug protagonist, a pig, and a 'sexy' wolf anthro with a fake Russian accent. I'm pretty sure there was also a spaceship and aliens involved? I've been looking for it everywhere; if anyone can help me find it, that would be amazing!
EDIT: I think the title (or maybe the tagline) involved something along the lines of heroes, defenders, etc. Hope that helps?
Edited by heralisopenVariety Show with Monkey puppets VHS Film
From what I remember it was a VHS from maybe the 90's or 80's, it was a stage show that had fancy sets and a lot of puppets. There is only one real segment that I can remember described below. Another important detail would be that the monkeys and the performers sing "She'll be coming around the mountain" and "Sweet Caroline". My sister recalls their being women involved but I only remember the guy. I think he was bald with a mustache because I remember him looking like my uncle.
The segment I remember is the creepy doll one: At one point the male of the group puts away the monkeys. The set is a large house with blue shadows, the music turns really creepy as he walks around looking for something. Then he finds a chest and pulls out a baby doll, they then proceed to sing a happy song about the doll.
The cover of the VHS was the guy sitting with the three monkey puppets by his side and one his shoulder while the crocodile should be at the bottom right. If anyone can remember what this show was called I would be grateful, my whole family remembers this tape but not its name, and if it helps looking back I get a real south vipe from the video. So good luck and thanks again!
openMovie where punishment is a pipe Film
I once saw a movie scene (I didn't see the full movie yet) in which someone is being dropped into a long pipe. They slide down and are eventually stuck at the bottom of the pipe. Definitely not a scene for claustrophobics. Anyone knows the movie?
open1) POW saves children from grenade - SOLVED and 2) female western settler killed by arrow Film
Two moments of nightmare fuel from my childhood. I saw both of these on British TV somewhere between the late 70s to mid 80s.
1) A World War II film, in colour, probably from the 1960s or early 1970s. A group of German or Italian Prisoners of War are being marched along a road escorted by Allied soldiers (I can't remember whether they were British or American). I remember trees on the far side of the road. They come across a group of children playing with a grenade. One of the POWs breaks out of the ranks, picks up the grenade, runs out of frame and you hear the grenade explode. It's possible I may have it the wrong way round and it's Allied POWs guarded by Axis soldiers.
2) A Western, again in colour, possibly from the 1950s or 60s. A group of settlers in a wagon train have stopped for the night. Native Americans attack, the first you know of this being one of the female settlers getting an arrow straight through the heart. It was so sudden and unexpected I remember finding it quite upsetting.
Edited by AspectiferopenTv show? Maybe a film I don't know? Film
I cannot for the life of me remember this show. But I do remember that there was something to do with a travelling circus or something like that and the main character was a girl and she had powers of some kind. The only other thing I remember is that at one point, some boy (who's a minor main character) has the bad guy revealed to him and the bad guy is in a briefcase or something?? And he slowly begins to turn into like a lizard/human hybrid. At the end, i think, the protagonist has to save lizard boy's baby sister because lizard boy is trying to kill her and they walk out onto a tightrope that's suspended over a massively high drop and she falls but someone else catches her???? I'm so lost, I've never been able to find it or anything similar anywhere.
openSome film for kids about magic Film
I remember watching once a movie on a saturday morning, but can't remember the title, but I remember these things:
- The bad guy was an evil wizard that looked kinda like Snape from Harry Potter.
- At a certain point the main characters warped through places (or dimensions, I don't remember) and the warp was this weird, colored place with "We Like to Party (The Vengabus is coming)" in the background (if you don't know the song, is the same one from the Six Flags commercial with the dancing old man)
openhigh school tv show from late 80's or early 90's Film
I only remember theme song with clock, school yard, school bus, boys and girls - and they sing and rap something like tic tic toc. It was very colourful and playful with catchy tune ...I know its chaotic description but its all I can remember :( Thank you in advance! English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes
openNew tv show Film
Hello! Not so long ago I saw a trailer of new series. It involved man searching for a dog he never had, and sequence of strange events, like rain right in the room and upside car. I forgot the name of the show and searched through lists of new 2016 shows but can't find it. Can anyone help me with this one? The first words in trailer were like this: just because you are searching for your dog, doesn't mean you had one. Thanks)
Edited by NahimovopenLate 90s UK TV show/movie. Only vaguely remember one scene - path (un)safe! Film
There was this TV show/movie I watched in primary school (UK, late 90s). It may have come out earlier than that.
Can remember almost nothing about it except some adventurers of some sort walking along a mountain path when they come across a sign that says 'Path safe'. To the viewer's horror however, when they go past it, some little mischevious ewok like creatures jump out and move something covering the 'Un' in 'Unsafe'.
There may or may not have been a scene where the heroes were tracking the ewok-things, and maybe another one where they were in a lush green valley.
I realise this isn't much to go off, but this has been bugging me for the better part of 15 years.
openKIds Nature Documentary Film
I remember this nature documentary for kids that I passed by at a museum once. They were even playing it on a TV. It had a song in it about Spring that had a line that went something along the lines of "check the clock because Spring is here", or something. Oh, and it also gave the animals voices. Gotta keep those kids entertained somehow. I also remember these frogs that told bad puns, to an audience of fish I believe?
Edited by pgj1997openAnimated Futuristic Movie Film
I suddenly remembered a movie I watched several years ago (about 10 or more). I don't remember it very well but was about this girl in a futuristic society who was being born from some sort of pod before this guy with a gun decided to adopt her instead of shooting her. There was also this guy who kept insects underneath his clothes that would wither and kill people. I know in the end she piloted some sort of mech thingy with her mind. Someone please tell me what it is it's driving me crazy.
opentime travel animated movie Film
Hello. I am looking for an animated movie I saw as a kid. Unfortuneatly I only remember the last act. The main character had gone to the far future coming across just a single semingly advanced city in the middle of a desert. The city is inhabited by an almost child-like type of people with various psychic powers. He lets one of them try his sunglasses and it ends up freaking them out since it got so dark.
Later he meets yet another group of people that live underground that fears the sunlight due to their sensitive eyes. By contrast with the others they have a strong, almost gorilla like, build but pale skin. They also know how to operate much of the technology as well as how to produce food. As a result of this, the childlike ones often go out in the night and then they go missing and in their place, a collection of food is found instead. Turns out that the underground people needs their psychic powers to power the many systems needed where they live. Also the main character manages to get one of them to the surface during the day thanks to the previously mentioned sunglasses.
If memory serves it all ends with the main character managing to make peace between the two peoples.
Edited by mattesteopenFrench drama involving teenage girl math prodigy? Film
Probably made in the 90s or early 2000s. The main character is a late teenage girl who is very good at math and at some point goes to an olympiad-type competition. IIRC she has an affair with her teacher/coach/something. Any ideas?
openMan runs over severe tire damage spikes Film
There's a scene from a comedy movie, probably from the 1980s, that I have in my head, but I can't remember what film it's from. There's a man in a car, waiting behind a line of cars at a kiosk. He gets frustrated at waiting, and drives past the kiosk on the left side, right over the severe tire damage spikes, flattening all four tires in the process. He then gets out of his car and runs in.
I'm picturing Steve Martin, or someone similar.

I just saw a snippet of this movie on TV once, about 20 years ago. All I remember is a young boy coming home to his apartment with a box of Ritz crackers. His mean mother (stepmother? foster mother?) yelled at him because they had a lot of salt. I go the impression that she was a "cruel mother" type character. That's all I can remember.
