Find a Trope:
openPatron god?
Do we have a trope for polytheistic characters who worship one of the gods more than the others?
openDon't Judge A Meal By Its Cover
A gross-looking food turns out to be delicious
Edited by RJ-19-CLOVIS-93openSoft Water Landing
It's perfectly safe to land in water from a high distance, like falling out of an airplane. Water tension? What's that?
openReal musician performs theme song
A real musician sings the theme song for a series. Examples: -The Rembrandts sang "I'll Be There For You" for Friends -Ninja Sex Party sang the theme song for Mighty Magiswords
openLeftover Arms Race trope
The trope where several criminal syndicates battle to develop black-market weapons based on leftover technology and artifacts from interdimensional visitors and battles.
openSurprise Death
I'm not talking necissarily about a death scene that comes out of nowhere even if that's technically what this is. What I mean is this is when death occurs in a show that has almost no hint of such a thing occuring. For example, you have a dating simulator where one of the characters commit suicide. You didn't think a death would occur in a romantic story-based game such as that, but it did. If a show is known for having deaths, be it of redshirts or named characters then it doesn't count. It has to be a show or medium where death was never hinted to be something that occurs.
openFavoured transfiguration form (not baleful polymorph)
The title's not catchy, I know, but do we have a trope where a witch or wizard has a favorite form they like to turn their enemies into? Some examples would be Circe from Percy Jackson And The Sea Of Monsters turning men into guinea pigs, or Lucinda the fairy from Ella Enchanted turning people into squirrels.

What the trope for when everyone gets a Happy Ending (even the villains, usually due to them becoming good at the end). Example: Mean Girls

I'm trying to find a trope for a Recap page I'm writing for Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks.
In the episode "The Creepy Cabbages of County Galway", anthropomorphised cabbages all look the same and walk human-like, with their roots as arms and legs, all walking to the same beat and rhythm.
Other than Plant Person, is there a trope for them walking the same way in the same beat?
Edited by Merseyuser1open"Very Tall Staircase" gag
The gag where someone ascends a stair so high that they get really tired midway.
Do we have it?
openIs there such a thing as a "Selfless yandere"?
Like, they have an obsession over their crush, but rather than thinking along the lines that their love only belongs to them, they instead believe that their crush could be with anyone else, so long as they make them happy... Just being more than willing to at the very least blackmail anyone if they made their love unhappy for whatever reason, even killing them and making it look like an accident, along with silencing any witnesses if caught, with whatever means possible.
openSweet poor child?
Is there a trope for the “optimistic little boy in poverty with a heart of gold, usually homeless and/or orphaned” type character?
openProtective over deceased person's object
Someone is protective over an object owned by a loved one who is now deceased, to the point that they get angry if someone else uses it.
openSocial media addict
A character who's obsessed with tweeting, updating facebook, etc. in a way that is portrayed as obsessive and interfering with other things in their life.
Not sure if Social Media Before Reason covers this or not, as this is about social media being a source of annoyance for other characters, not about it being life-threatening.
