Is there a trope about signature tropes of authors? The closest thing I've found is Author Catchphrase, but there must be a broad trope about easily identifiable ideas, concepts, lines, plot devices and such.

The other day I was positive I saw a trope about how the kids of single parents will try to find Love Interests for their parents, but I can't seem to find it again. I remember it was relatively wordy, but that's about it.

In Tales Of MU, the golem Two is named such because the runes on her forehead resemble the word. It's not treated as a joke in-series, so is this an example of Punny Name or something different?

Is there a name for a trope where some sort of crisis forces a Love Epiphany? (ie, Alice and Bob have been friends or even enemies for a while, but then Bob's seriously injured in a car crash, and Alice realizes that she just can't imagine life without him). I can't think of any specific examples at the moment, but it definitely happens.

Do we have a trope for items and/or spells in RP Gs which lower the amount of Random Encounters you come across?

In a space station, spaceship, factory, etc, a large number of characters are standing around spouting technobabble and long numbers, usually staring at screens in fierce concentration. "Five-six-eight-zeta-omega..." "Heading starboard at zero five nine degrees, correct alpha alpha three..." There will be flashing lights, beeps and mysterious cables. There's not usually any focus on what is actually happening, but the creators to give the impression that there's a lot of it — think ants with voices. Often used as a background for the real action or dialogue.
This is quite a common scene, I think — there must be a trope of it somewhere.

This has to be here, but I read Robot Wants Series and it didn't see what I was looking for.
A video game convention where there are obstacles that can only be passed after certain upgrades are found.
For an example, in Robot Wants Ice Cream, you are limited to a pretty small portion of the map until you get the first double-jump upgrade. And there is another very large area of the map that is inaccessible until you have some strong flying ability.

What exactly is the whole "exclamation point" style of denoting duplicate/alternate characters called? Some examples I've seen are 1985!Biff, or Puppet!Angel.

Non Ominous Non Latin Non Chanting
Hydorah contains two songs with lyrics that are backwards Spanish. I can't figure out if it is an example of a trope or not. I would say Ominous Latin Chanting, but of course it's not Ominous, it's not Latin, and it's not Chanting!

Empathic Powers. Sort of like Empathic Weapon, except mixed with Powers as Programs. In short, it's the actual powers themselves that are sentient (such as The Phoenix Force in X Men or Demonic Possession).

Do we have a trope covering an animal or other nonhuman creature mistaking an artificial recording of someone he knows for the real thing? The classic example is "His Master's Voice", where a dog peers curiously into the cone of a phonograph presumably playing a recording of its owner speaking; also in Harry And The Hendersons, Harry sees his human friend George on some display T Vs and keeps trying to take them (and, as far as he can tell, George) home.

There's a kind of story wherein a new sheriff (or other law enforcer) comes to town and cleans it up not by kicking butt and taking names, but simply by doing his job the way he's supposed to—turning down bribes, enforcing regulations, and so on. Examples would be, say, On Basilisk Station from the Honor Harrington series. And Captain Carrot from the first few City Guards books of Discworld.
Is there a name for this, and what are some other good examples?
