openRegarding a trope on RWBY Web Original
In RWBY, Cinder's backstory revealed that she was enslaved by Madame and her two stepsisters for five years, and even wore a shock collar. Then, one day, Cinder snapped from the abuse, destroyed Madame's shock collar and killed her and her stepsisters.

Edited by gjjonesopenAccidentally destroying set/equipment (trivia) Web Original
Is there a trope where a prop/set was destroyed behind-the-scenes?
My example:

by Mehdi Sadaghdar
I know it's not quite behind-the-scenes, but in that case, Mehdi actually destroyed his phone in the process of making that video.

In this scene
, the music plays when the character looks through the binoculars and stops as soon we’re back in third person, as if the music was in the binoculars. Is there a trope for that?
openClowns are Immortal Web Original
I could swear this used to have its own page but I can't find it anymore? Well it's exactly what it says on the tin, clown characters being really tough to get rid of, I remember first seeing it on the Homestuck trope list and now I was reminded again when watching the Madness Combat series.
openWizard of Oz Motif Web Original
Do we have a trope for when characters are styled after characters from the The Wonderful Wizard of Oz?
For instance, in RWBY, numerous characters are themed after characters from the Wizard of Oz, which tie into their personal flaws.
- Professor Ozpin is themed after the eponymous wizard. In addition to being one of the last users of magic on the planet, Ozpin's inability to be fully truthful with others out of fear of how they'll react to it erodes his allies' faith in him.
- James Ironwood is themed after the Woodcutter, a tin man who lost his heart and seeks to reclaim it. Ironwood is a Cyborg who increasingly loses his humanity and ability to empathize with others while trying to be the hero and leader Atlas needs.
- Qrow Branwen is themed after the Scarecrow, who wished for nothing more than a brain. Qrow is constantly dulling his mind with alcohol to escape the grief and stress of his profession and the secrets he holds. Although he's one of the world's finest huntsmen, he tends to let others do the thinking for him.

openSnarky Editor Web Original
An editor, usually not a top-billing character in a webseries or Lets Play, who nonetheless offers snarky commentary and banter, often at the expense of (or the request of) the stars of the show. Sometimes does not speak directly to the audience or cast (instead using on-screen text). Often becomes an Ensemble Darkhorse for the series. Mostly confined to Web Original series.
Prominent examples would include Barry, Kevin, and Matt and Ryan from Game Grumps; and Lixian from Markiplier's web videos.
Does something like this exist as a trope?
Edited by ShinySubstituteopenExpectation joke Web Original
"In short, what I like in slasher movies is akin to what I like in Tom & Jerry; except it's much more violent in Tom & Jerry."
Obviously, everyone expects him to say "in slashers" before he finishes his sentence. What kind of trope would that joke fall into?

openBreast Expansion, or Adaptational Curves? Web Original
So in SMG 4, Meggy has a flat chest. However, when she went on vacation in Port Aurora, Meggy has her breasts upgraded. However, is it because the show has a totally different artstyle, or did the fog magically expanded her assets? Which is the right trope?

openCorporate Culture Geek Web Original
Some Work Coms have one annoying character who buys completely into the corny corporate ideology, contrasting to the more level-headed characters, who think it's just a crappy job and try to get through the day. This guy is the work equivalent of the school-loving Nerd who loves company retreats, obeys all nonsensical rules (and tattles on those who don't) and even enjoys the company's product during his free time - sometimes exclusively.
Is there a trope for that guy?
openThinking it was the finish line when it isn't Web Original

openWhen an inactive person is found Web Original
Looking for a trope about how Wazzo TV found several inactive people to work on his online animated show with him Or something to describe the in-universe counterpart of how Wazzo found several people who had left for a long time
openWhen something exist before it was invented (RESOLVED) Web Original
There's Twitter being used in Aldrivers, Devourer of Cos. Nothing wrong at first but the date shown is Sep 11, 2001. Twitter was invented in 2006. Know that trope for that kind of humor?
Edited by AlicornGaiaresolved Happy to be Hated Web Original
A character is disliked or rejected. It seems like he'd be in hell, but he's actually happy - because the one(s) hating him do so because of a quality he's proud of.
The standard joke I'm thinking of (from Saturday Morning Breakfast Theater) is when a woman breaks up with a man because she thinks her penis is too big, and he's smiling about it.
One example that's not R-rated I remember is an episode of The Simpsons where a teacher is mean to Lisa despite them sharing academic interests, and in the end, the teacher reveals she's always been jealous of pretty girls like Lisa, so Lisa feels good about being hated "for that reason".

This is when the editor of a video production (although it could be from other media) inserts snarky on-screen comments and/or effects into the video to make fun of the host(s), point out something in the video that wasn't originally part of its focus, or other shenanigans.
Do we have something for this already?
