resolved Very Questionable Troping Videogame
The one-month-old account TNO Enjoyer has been displaying a pattern of bizarre behaviour. I don't have the time to catalogue it all in detail, but it includes and is not limited to:
- Creating the subpage Characters.TNO Legacy Denmark, and an invalid Analysis page for it. The former was cut for duplicating content already on TNO Europe.
- Adding an entry on FanWorks.Hearts Of Iron for "Chronicles Of Elementa", which is described only as an "upcoming mod". This was later removed by another Troper.
- Creating the page "Chronicles Elementa", which was cut as a stub.
- Creating a Characters page for "Elementa Chronicles'', and several sub-pages for it, without a corresponding work page.
- Creating then abandoning the misspelled page "Characters.Chroniclesof Elementa".
- Adding a blank folder to Characters.TNO Misc.
- Creating two more troll stubs, Characters.Revolutionaries, and Revolutionaries.Characters containing only the word "Bruh".
I know absolutely nothing about Hearts of Iron and its clearly extensive fan-work community, but there are no results for "Elementa Chronicles" on Google whosoever, unless you count misspellings of a Minecraft fanwork series named the Elementia Chronicles. I can't tell if this Troper is a troll or vandal, or simply trying to trope their own unpublished mod, in which case it should be on Darth Wiki. In any case, they've made an awful lot of stubs.
Update: I have sent Characters.Chroniclesof Elementa, Characters.Revolutionaries, Revolutionaries.Characters, and Analysis.TNO Legacy Denmark to the Cut List, the former three for being stubs, the latter for namespace misuse. Edited by Azorius24
resolved LRLEO (limit RL examples) vote - RoleEndingMisdemeanor for adult films
A new addition to the current No Real Life Examples, Please! / Limited Real Life Examples Only Crowner:
Role-Ending Misdemeanor covers Real Life categories such as sports, news and modelling as well as creators of works. RoleEndingMisdemeanor.Other currently includes an "Adult Films" folder, listing performers and companies that have been fired or blacklisted due to their behaviour.
The proposal is that this section should be removed from the trope page, and that RoleEndingMisdemeanor examples relating to these films and performers should be formally banned.

resolved Radar Subpages
The various subpages for Getting Crap Past the Radar are still here - and I've only linked four of them, there are many more. I remember there was a convoluted process regarding these subpages being cut if - and ONLY if - the trope's misuse continued past a certain date, but that date came and went with nobody checking if the trope was still being misused by then. Should we do anything with these subpages?

resolved Prerelease page too recent?
VideoGame.PokemonLegendsZ-A was just announced today for a 2025 release.
The page currently has no tropes and I belive violates works requiring a release day and enough a trailer to trope it unspeculatively, which isn't t the case.
Should it be cut?
resolved Slow motion edit war over "foldercontrol" button
In April 2023, ItsFriedrich
removed the [[foldercontrol]] button on AwesomeMusic.Splatoon without an edit reason. As the page has multiple folders, I restored the button, explaining in the edit reason that pages with multiple folders get the button to automatically open and close all of the folders. On 26 February, they removed it again, without an edit reason. (Courtesy link to page edit history.
)
Setting the edit war aside, am I imagining the rule about pages with multiple folders getting the [[foldercontrol]] button? (Is it more of an unofficial rule?) And whether I am or not, should it be restored?
resolved something wrong with the Baldur's gate 3 Origin Characters page? Videogame
Specifically this one. Checking the history of the page or the edit page, i can clearly see there is content here. But when i try to look at the page itself... it's blank.

resolved Character limit/splitting of Character pages.
I'm working on a series of character pages for a work (a Gacha Game with a total roster of 700+ and counting), and while I'm thinking about how to organize and further split up the pages in the future (generally leaning towards organizing by year introduced), I have to ask: how big does the character count (the number that appears at the bottom of a page when editing) have to be to necessitate separating into other pages?note By extension, at what point would it be too much for the page to handle?

resolved Technology Marches On example seems invalid
Minor spoilers for the movie ahoy.
On the Hard Candy Trivia page, it says:
"Technology Marches On: Hayley's inability to find porn in Jeff's apartment is seen as damning evidence. Today, she would just assume he watched it online."
Doesn't anyone reading this think "wait a minute?!". The movie is clearly set in the present day (2005 at the time). We see Hayley searching his unlocked computer. She then says to him (according to the shooting script and I remember her saying it in a very similar fashion in the movie itself):
So, obviously she thinks he can download his illicit material online, as anyone would logically presume he could in the well-into-the-internet-era of 2005. She finds a disc in the safe marked "Stuff" which highly implies that's precisely what he's hidden. There may also be physically printed photos of young girls which he took himself, but that's immaterial here. He also could have very well just "enjoyed" the material he found online without downloading it as a private stash. The point is, the second sentence of the example looks to be invalidated, thus invalidating the entire entry. There's no technology marching on here, it would play out exactly the same if the movie was to be released today (whether the safe's illegal material is stored on a CD, an SD card or whatever). Even if he wanted to encrypt it on his computer, that would have been about as feasible back then as today (read: pretty damn feasible), and the police (or Hayley) would still throw resources at it to decrypt it as actionable evidence.
Am I correct here? Or am I missing something?
Edited by FlashStepsresolved Mod request: Reversion of Page to restore ZCEs on American Girl Characters Page Literature
(edited title: originally ZC Es removed from American Girl Characters page.)
Princess Lulu 6 cut all the zero context entries
from the Characters.American Girls Collection Historical Characters page. I know a good part of them may work—I was the one who commented them out some time back—but the tropes listed more need expansion than removal. I'm exceptionally familiar with the works but have to consult my library to do so with several so as to be accurate the first time. Is this something that should be restored, and can I do it? There's so many it might be best to have a mod roll it back.
resolved Page completely removed, not sure why
I had created a page at Black Heart for a custom level series a bit ago and it seems to have been deleted. There doesn't appear to be a delete reason or a count of redlinks like most other deleted pages I've seen on here, and I'm a bit confused as to why it got cut because I made sure to add a fair amount of tropes and such alongside proper formatting. There was also a page in the Literature namespace there for something else named "Blackheart" which had existed beforehand, and a Trivia page where I had put stuff related to what I was making a page on (with a heading to distinguish it) - both of those pages are gone too with no reason visible for me as well.
I'm still relatively new around here, is there anything I could've done wrong with the page that would've had it cut with no explanation? I can't find any information about it in the history, I didn't get a message about it, nothing.
Small update: I did some looking around at the Recent Cuts page and I can't find anything about it on there as well.
Edited by DXL44resolved Should I put this into TRS?
I've been reading through Animated Shock Comedy and noticed that many of the examples tend to comment on its quality. Whether if it's gushing about the inclusion of character development, or discussing about negative or divided viewer reactions.
Examples in the page that show this:
- "Sausage Party has plenty of Character Development and a solid plot, but it still sold itself on being the first 3D computer-animated feature to get an R-rating. Viewers are divided on its quality, with some feeling that it tried too hard to shove crude humor into every available place it could find."
- "Hoops, another Netflix cartoon. The main character is a completely unlikable Jerkass, and the humor is very crass, with lots of dick jokes and extreme amounts of F-bombs from its VERY foul-mouthed protagonist. While jerkass protagonists are hardly rare in this genre, this one's sheer obnoxiousness garnered the show many negative reviews, and likely led to its swift cancellation."
- "A lot of the humor in Rick and Morty is extremely sophomoric, with phallic imagery, burp/fart jokes, pop culture references and violence galore; however, much like Bojack Horseman, it plays the consequences of a lot of these jokes completely straight for the sake of furthering the story and developing the characters, who even at their flattest are much more fleshed out and three-dimensional than a good deal of the show's contemporaries..."
Basically, I think the trope tends to attract both complaining and gushing that I think examples should be rewritten to be less YMMV.
What do you think?
Edited by RuckusHeartsresolved Four Souls of Coyote Page Film
Hi!
No one has created a page for the Hungarian film Four Souls of Coyote (original name Kojot negy lelke) and I want to be the first. Problem is, I've never done a page for a movie before. A fanfiction series, mind you, but not a movie. Are there standards and protocol I need to follow before making such a page? Also, it's a foreign film, so are there extra steps to take?
resolved Four Souls of Coyote Namespace Film
I have another question regarding Four Souls of Coyote. I've seen many examples under the Hungarian folder in the Eastern European Animation page listed as "Animation" and only some as "Western Animation". Which do I list a foreign film like "Four Souls" under: "Animation" or "Western Animation"?

I have this starving trope that I want to help flesh out. I've already crosswicked it and all but I simply can't help it more without more examples and I've already run out of the ones I knew.
Bringing it to the TRS seems a bit extreme because I've upped its wick count to 25 (which, not ideal but it's technically thriving) and also because I know there are more examples of it out there, I just can't remember them for the life of mine.
So, is there a forum in which I can post a "examples needed" thread?
