resolved Fortnite & Crossovers/Collabs Videogame
Hi,
maybe this sounds like a stupid question but I just want to make sure because I haven't seen that on character pages where this would apply to: If a character gets their own Fortnite Outfit, would it be appropiate to list that apperance on their character page? Or are there also additional requirements (such as actually having an impact on narrative/gameplay as opposed to only a cosmetic apperance) And if so, would it be wise to mention the season where the character was introduced into the game or also list every other skin variant, if any?
resolved Regarding Foil for VideoGame/Persona5 Videogame
So, I was checking the Foil page where the main requirement is that they be seen with each other. The only problem in the Persona 5 subpage is only some of the Foils are shown with each other, and others are from previous games and one example from Shin Megami Tensei. In other words, most of the "Foils" are never seen together. Should I cut them out or leave them be?
Edited by kuchiki222resolved Problems with troper in Blue Archive Videogame
Ojandora usually edits the YMMV and Memes subpages of Blue Archive, but these last months, they have been comitting many mistakes.
- Most importantly, grammar errors across many edits. I've sent them 5 notifiers or more for that reason, but there has been no response and they don't seem to go to the Get Help with English thread
.
- Using non-tropes, such as these potholes to Death By Sex
(which is a disambig) and this example
of The Wiki Rule (which is Definition-Only).
- Word Cruft, as other tropers reduced the length
of some of their examples
.
- Misusing YMMV items just to complain about the recent anime adaptation, like with They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character
and Broken Base
.
- Last but not least, this "meme" entry
about some sort of eroguro involving Tanga Ibuki, which is one of the youngest characters in the game.

resolved Wanted to request an Image Change for a Page, but Image Pickin is always full Videogame
Hello!
I wanted to move the page Dontnod Entertainment to Don't Nod after their recent name change (in 2022), turning the previous link into a redirect, but the page image has been set as per an Image Pickin thread
where the logo had been changed back to the original one because of dark mode related issues. I wanted to use an image from their website (with no similar issues) to go with the new naming, but whenever I try to make an Image Pickin thread it is always full, and I have no idea how to proceed.
Thank you!
resolved Should i split a YMMV trope into a subpage? Videogame
I’ve noticed that on the YMMV page for fortnite, Game-Breaker currently has 28 examples and around 26,802 bytes (for reference, the main ymmv page has 135,556 bytes). Should I split it into its own subpage or is it fine as is?
Edited by MB74resolved Salvaged Story in SRW Videogame
The Super Robot Wars series has its own Salvaged Story page, which would make sense given those game are famous for making good changes to the titles that feature in it... if it wasn't for the fact that Salvaged Story applies only to installments within the same continuity. Since SRW games are adaptations, this should be an Improved Second Attempt page.
Now, I know I can create a new Improved Second Attempt page and copy-paste everything that is in the current Salvaged Story page, but I don't know how to get rid of the Salvaged Story page afterwards. How do I do that?
resolved Strange edit to works page - format and font Videogame
Troper Crookedjaw made a strange edit to The Lord of the Rings Online that messed with the folders on the page, changed the font (at least on a mobile page view), made the page image disappear, and added YMMV images throughout.
Could a mod revert the page?
resolved Are protofolders a thing? Videogame
I ask because "protofolders" for future Throes of the Watchmaker characters were added to the Sea of Stars character page.
Considering the update won't come until spring of next year, that's a long time for them to just sit around. I am a little confused by this.
resolved Spoiler markup trouble Videogame
Noticed a spoiler markup bug while browsing in Characters.TNO Japan. I first, I thought it was improper spoiler markup, but all efforts made to fix it, including removing the Japanese characters failed. I also tried removing the note entirely, but the preview showed that it ended up blanking the entire page. Here's the section for context:

Anyone know what's causing this issue? It's really ripping me apart, and frankly, not even switching to the new TV Tropes Editor work, as the page didn't support it for some reason.
resolved Game with big gun Videogame
The game takes place in some manner of arctic region, and one of the most memorable elements of the game is a railway gun
big enough to be mistaken for a building.
resolved Transfer edit history from old page to new Videogame
At the start of the year
I migrated the Yoko Taro creator page to it's current entry, as the original page had his name written in western order while he is notable as having exclusively gone by the eastern order in all English marketing. For some reason at the time I didn't migrate the YMMV
, Trivia
and Quotes
pages. I've done so now, can I get a moderator to move the edit histories over so I can then cutlist the old pages?
resolved Dragon Quest Everything Trying To Kill You entry needs help. Videogame
In my cleanup to remove the disambiguation Dragon Quest links, I found this very disorganised cluster on Everything Trying to Kill You and not sure how to clean it up.
- Dragon Quest VIII features enemies like living handbells, bags of money, and, in the game's penultimate boss fight, a homicidal, sentient castle.
- Dragon Quest VII had it even worse, with the aforementioned bags of money (a staple monster for the series), a giant rose bush, books, pots, wells, eggplants, anteaters, columns, clowns, a moose, clouds, Aladdin-style lamps, Easter Island heads, starfish, snails, penguins, Don Quixote robots, and wine bottles.
- Solar systems. Every Dragon Quest game featured some bizarre enemies, it seems. Dragon Quest II had robots, in a medieval fantasy. Dragon Quest III had jewel bags, carnivorous treasure chests, and evil mushrooms. Dragon Quest VI had evil mirrors, castles, and waves.
resolved Similar entries on Writing Around Trademarks Videogame
Continuing my clean up of the Dragon Quest wicks, I found that the Dragon Quest name was referenced twice in the Tabletop Games folder and Video Games folder. Tabletop Games:
* In an example on the other side of the coin, SPI produced a role playing game called DragonQuest in 1980; when they went bankrupt in 1992, TSR picked it up and ran it as an alternate line to Dungeons and Dragons. Because of this, the Japanese RPG series Dragon Quest had to be renamed Dragon Warrior in North America until Square Enix finally secured the name in 2005.Video Games:
* The Dragon Quest games up to VII were titled Dragon Warrior in the US, due to a tabletop RPG using the former name.I feel one of these examples needs to be deleted (and if the former, the latter needs expansion) but I'm not sure which one.
resolved Image problems Videogame
I cannot upload any images on a video game character page because they are too small. How do I get around this?
resolved Unsure if this counts as an edit war Videogame
I've been checking through some old Laconic pages I've been involved in, and one of them is Eternal Darkness (a laconic page which already has a bit of a history with questionable changes for some reason, but that's a different discussion).
There seems to have been a few edits a while ago which have made me hesitate to make the edit I intended to make:
- October 17, 2022 - The Lewandererz 602555 adds a Recycled with a Gimmick double laconic to the page
- Roughly 12 hours later, King of Nightmares reverts the edit, citing that double laconics aren't allowed and that the added info doesn't add anything.
- November 20, 2022 - The Lewandererz 602555 adds the same info from the double laconic back, but as part of the sentence, and in a way that renders the grammar of the rest of the sentence clunky.
This was a few years ago, but given the grammar issue that was created, the issues with using Recycled with a Gimmick and references to other works/creators in laconic pages, and the fact that this stemmed from a back-and-forth sequence of edits, would I be clear to revert the page?
Edited by Akriloth2160resolved About kkj12345 Videogame
kkj12345 has repeatedly gone from lightly critiquing stuff to saying mean things about some former writers and dunking on sexual 17+ books from Choices: Stories You Play.
1. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=WMG.ChoicesStoriesYouPlay&page=5#edit40508788
("who knows, maybe the same boss-employee romance loving writer")
Then earlier today I had to tone down a rude edit he made about a theory about the upcoming Hot Shot spin off.
2. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=WMG.HotShot&page=1#edit42397291
("This is supposed to be a sports series after all, not a sex series")
What should we do about this?
Edited by Ryckmanhresolved Avoiding an edit war: Sekiro spoilers Videogame
In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Secondary Characters, a troper modified the page to add a relatively popular fanon, that the corpse found in a later area of the game is the corpse of lady Tomoe, a character mentioned in the game as having died some time ago. This is fanon, not actual canon, and, while a valid theory, has absolutely no support in the actual game. I edited out the references to that corpse being lady Tomoe and advised that this should go to YMMV or WMG.
The troper who added that fanon then added it again, this time with a "probably".
I should like to note that I think that it is credible that the corpse is Tomoe, but it is simply not backed-up enough to be in the character page.
It is not acknowledged in-universe, the tombs of Lady Tomoe and Lord Takeru are in another area of the game, and a note written by Tomoe says that "returning to the divine realm is useless" and this corpse is found in the entrance to the divine realm.
This is the reasoning that leads me to edit out references to that corpse being Tomoe in the main pages and leave it for WMG and YMMV, but this is turning into an edit war. We could use a third person, familiar with the lore of the game, to put an end to this.
Edited by Tezcatsresolved Does Standalone DLC in a Different Medium Get its Own Work Page? Videogame
Should "A Study in Fairy Dust" have its own page under Literature or still have its tropes listed in its parent game, Tavern Talk? It's a standalone short story included in the Supporter Upgrade featuring one of your customers as the main character.
Edited by TroperNo9001resolved Smiling Critters Episodes? Videogame
On the page for Smiling Critters , should I try adding fake episode tropes like in Candle Cove ? I think we should, but what do you guys think?

On July 29th, 2024, Lord Twibill added back Broken Aesop to Danganronpa, even through its own Broken Aesop page (which was made by the same troper, by the way) was called into question by another troper
and got cut due to many of the examples of Aesops that were broken instead coming across as one person complaining about certain aspects of the franchise.
That wasn't the first time someone attempted to add Broken Aesop to the YMMV page for Danganronpa. Looking at that page's edit history
reveals that someone did try to add entries for Broken Aesop, only for someone else to remove it one day later. That edit happened after the Broken Aesop page for Danganronpa was cut.
Looking at the Broken Aesop entry, it still feels like one person complaining. I'm not sure if those examples feel a lot better now that Broken Aesop has been redefined as an opinion trope. Talking about this topic might be messy since the troper who made that edit has a history of getting suspended for edit warring. At the time of writing, they're currently suspended. Again. Ugh...
What do you think about this? Should something be done about that example?
