openDoes it count if a work offers a Mythology Gag within itself? Videogame
- Another Vanu Vanu daily quest is called "The Binding Soil". Does it count if a work offers a Mythology Gag within itself?
Well, does it? (This was on Final Fantasy XIV. The context is that a quest in the :Heavensward expansion has a Punny Name with the pun being derived from a Bonus Level [Specifically what MMO players would refer to as a "Raid"] in the base game)
open Revert on SpectacleFighter? Videogame
Could we get a mod revert on Spectacle Fighter? A troper took it upon himself to cut most of the page without discussion. He is on the Discussion page now, so I think the prudent course of action would be to revert the page, discuss what does or does not need to be cut, and then re-cut stuff.
I do agree that the fat should be trimmed, but he cut way too much before any discussion occurred.
openWhen to give upon a page Videogame
Some of the pages noted as needing wiki magic just end up... lingering. For years without being fixed. In particular, I'm asking about things like Dark Angael; its three tropes are an aversion that shouldn't have been listed on there in the first place, a ZCE, and flat out incorrect- calling something 'Angael' instead of 'Angel' isn't British English as far as I'm aware, it's My Nayme Is. I've never played the game myself, so I can't help add anything to it, it'll just be even more of a stub if I take off the ZCE and the aversion.
It's been on the Needs Wiki Magic Love index, and nothing's been added or changed for years. What's the policy for these kind of things- how long are they given on the Needs Wiki Magic Love before they're cut?
openWhy is Joker's Main!Injustice page SelfDemonstrating? Videogame
It's annoying and deters away anyone who wants to read his character page in third person. Keep all the Self-Demonstrating styles to where they belong like SelfDemonstrating. The Joker.
openSelf-Demonstrating Example vs. Zero-Context Example Videogame
Are any character tropes considered self-demonstrating? I'm working on a Characters page with over 70 characters and am starting to feel like a lot of examples/clarification I've been providing is reaching natter levels.
For example: Dark Skinned Blonde: Skin as black as night. You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Light blue with a single braid combined with Peek A Bangs. etc.
The bottom line is, am I doing this correctly?
open Undertale-related Edit War Videogame
It looks like there's something going on in Video Games regarding Undertale. Now I don't know that much about Undertale itself, but Buttersilk did leave a pretty rude edit comment on putting his entry back.
open Eiyuu Senki: The World Conquest Videogame
A while back I noticed a discussion about building a page for this game, but the page was removed due to the sexual content of the game itself. An all-ages version with the sexual content removed was recently released and localized on the PS 3. Despite that all-ages version release, is the game still banned from having a page made?
open Yet another stupid SD page Videogame
Phoenix Wright exists. Why?! Why in the name of common sense does this exist?! And do I have permission to kill it with the hottest, most scouring, cleansing fire I can get my hands on?

Any chance of someone adding a Nightmare Fuel page to the Phantasy Star series? There's quite a few creepy moments if I do say so myself.

In Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, in the online versus mode, owning nodes will generate money for you, and capturing a node you haven't had in the game yet will let you acquire a new weapon. However, it's possible to shut the other player out by killing them when they try to get nodes and taking them for yourself. This will allow you to get new weapons and more money, which will let you put up barriers over the nodes you own and capture the other nodes faster due to being able to kill the enemies that spawn near them quicker. By doing this, you can leave the other player stuck with their starting Combuster (pistol), and no money to buy base defenses, player upgrades, or an invasion force to attack the enemy base.
Would the above be an example of Can't Catch Up?

Do games that, by themselves, are rather innocent and kid friendly, but has a player base that consists massively of the GIFT in action and has a chat so people can post things kids should not be hearing about until they're older on a daily basis qualify for the What Do You Mean, It's for Kids? trope, or does it not since that's what the developers never intended to happen, and by itself, the game is still rather innocent and kid friendly?
Also, should point this out while I'm at it, Sailor Tardis replaced the image for the page I'm talking about without first opening an image picking discussion first. Someone might want to do something about that.

To prevent an Edit War, I'm bringing this here.
I removed The Fair Folk from Undertale for not being the example. The trope's about fairies being malevolent or malicious, but the "monsters" in question are actually quite friendly. However, Doh Entertainmnent readded the example anyway with the following edit reason:
"The trope doesn't specifically specify that they have to be malevolent, but at the very least unpredictable, which they mostly are, even if they aren't actually evil."
Even if he's right, the example in question needs editing to remove uncomfirmed speculation (e.g. the reason that the war started, which wasn't stated within the game itself) and to turn it into something that's less of a Wall of Text.

So a Justifying Edit was recently made in YMMV.Pokken Tournament that negates an example of Hype Backlash if it's true.
- Hype Backlash: When Masuda teased a huge announcement at the 2015 World Championships, everyone was anticipating the reveal of a new main series game due to the unknown Pokémon showcased in the September edition of CoroCoro and The Stinger of Hoopa and the Clash of Ages. Instead it was just the reveal that Pokkén would be ported to Wii U and that Pikachu Libre would be a playable character, which was viewed as nothing really exciting across most of the fanbase due to the existing expectation of the game getting a console release anyway. Every now and then during the live announcement they'd pause during their speeches to allow the crowd to applause...which hardly anybody did (although apparently it has less to do with the announcement and more to the fact that they started the opening ceremonies earlier than usual, what with the audience still entering).
Bolded part is the edit.
I cannot verify the claim of the edit, so I'm not sure if the second half of the examplenote I can confidently say from personal experience on several forums that the example itself is legit. People were definitely very upset about The Un-Reveal concerning the game's Wii U release. should be axed or just the justifying edit. Thoughts?

Someone keeps trying to shoehorn A Nazi by Any Other Name into the Garrosh section, despite Warcraft's orcs being pretty much inspired by myths of Vikings, and Mongolian Hordes, and otherwise not fitting the trope as defined on the A Nazi by Any Other Name page which states that examples that believe themselves to be a Master Race, but don't otherwise partake in of other Nazi ideology or imagery shouldn't be listed as an example.
This same individual keeps trying to rewrite the Garithos entry to paint him as a Noble Bigot, and Kael'thas entry to say he was evil all along despite Metzen, the writer himself, saying Kael'thas was a tragic character, and that Garithos racism drove him to villainy. The Individual continually insults Metzen on his reasons for editing.

"Set page type" is still missing, right? If it is, we need Characters.Bravely Default set to "does indexing" so that the subpages get properly indexed. If not, please point me towards how to do this myself.

So what's the deal with Minimalist Run? I could understand putting examples on the page itself, but is it really permissible to stick this trope on work pages that don't, in and of themselves, contain the trope? This is basically an elevated form of Troper Tales, in my opinion. "You can do a Minimalist Run in this game by not doing X, Y, or Z." Congratulations, you've just described almost every game ever.
I feel like this should be In Universe Examples Only. Thoughts?

So, I just started a new game page and it happens that there's this Walking Spoiler character that sole appearance is spoiler. I already know how to put a character image on Tvtrope in the character page, but if it's a Walking Spoiler character, I don't know how to mark the character image itself as spoiler. Help, anyone?

Someone accidentally deleted a large portion of Fate/Grand Order: Assassins. I fix it myself but I can't do it on my tablet.
