Do they count?
Edited by EatableKitten29openDelgadoMan
DelgadoMan has made multiple edits to Screwed by the Network sub-pages for kids' networks, often laced with issues, including:
- A lot of instances of Word Cruft, including one of which I've corrected
and sent a notifier for, along with this
and this
.
- A violation
of Examples Are Not Recent on the Disney Networks sub-page
- A un-needed bit of natter
on the Cartoon Network sub-page.
Can anybody intervene in this situation?
Edited by DongwaChanopenSuper Sexual Stamina page edits messed up page
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Main.SuperSexualStamina&page=2#edit45695793
So user Asparagus 2 did some edits to the page that messed up its formatting. Strange indentations, missing lines, folders being funky, and so on. They seem to be a newer troper and while they did clean up some of the mess, it is still messed up and figured it would be best to report it here for a fix up and any, if anything, that would be required to be sent Asparagus's way.
openWeird PM
Tropers/Insane-Makaioshin sent me a message regarding my edits on Fanfic. The Devil King... even though I never touched the page at all.
openEdit war on WesternAnimation/LadybugAndCatNoirTheMovie and its sub-pages
The troper Celestial Draco has repeatedly changed the spelling of a character's name from Emilie to Émilie. This is objectively incorrect, we see her name written down onscreen. Despite this edit being reverted and explained, Celestial Draco has continued to attempt it.
opengeneration81
Aside of the grammar concerns, I've found recent edits by generation81 suspect:
- Very rude comment here
which I've sent a notifier for.
- ZCE, tropeless folders and typos here
- Typos and wrong indentation here
openTrapped in a Metaphor?
Is there a category for Trapped in a Metaphor? Or some punchier name such as Metaphorical Prison, Symbolic Confinement, or Living Allegory? Metaphorical Maze? Symbolic Trap? Living Parable?
As Archer once wondered, is there a word for both literal and metaphoric...
I'm talking films like Vivarium, Mr K, The Bothersome Man, where people are expressly trapped in a literal metaphor. Vivarium is ABOUT being trapped in suburbia whilst being trapped in a weird suburbia. Mr K is about dead-end jobs with the walls closing in, whilst he is trapped in a dead-end jobs with the walls closing in. The Bothersome Man is about soulless, joyless, sterile corporate life whilst being trapped in.. you get it.
Characters are physically confined in a setting that serves as a metaphor for a larger societal, existential, or psychological issue. The location is both a literal trap and a symbolic representation of the characters’ struggles, forcing them to confront the underlying theme.
- The setting is inescapable or difficult to leave (e.g., endless suburbs, shrinking hotel rooms). - The environment embodies an abstract concept (e.g., suburbia for conformity, a hotel for existential stagnation) - The trap often includes bizarre or heightened features (e.g., alien children, emotionless citizens) to emphasize the metaphor. - The characters’ attempts to escape or cope reflect their engagement with the metaphorical issue, often leading to despair, rebellion, or transformation.
Unlike the generic "Mind Prison" (which is purely psychological) or "Bottle Episode" (location-based but not always metaphorical), this trope emphasizes a physical space that explicitly symbolizes a broader theme.
What does ye all make of it?
openScorpion Recap Page Live Action TV
Just tried to put a Recap page on Scorpion but kept getting weird tech issues as it was cut before. Reason given was something like "Just a list of titles with no summaries". Was planning to add summaries, but can't really do that when the relevant pages won't form.
How do I reinstate the page so I can add episode summaries? Is there a way to do that?
openNon-racing "photo finish" Live Action TV
This is prompted by watching Sumo, but it can presumably apply to other events. (Maybe like football, for going out of bounds?)
Some matches ended up being reviewed, with both wrestlers headed towards the ground, which (usually) counts as a loss for whoever hits dirt first, and- at least for the viewers- there's a video replay, especially when it's close. Is there a non-race version of Down to the Photo Finish? ("Down To"’s description basically describes races where two runners/drivers/whatever reach the finish line at almost the same time.)
openFlame Baiting response from troper in Headscratchers page
In Headscratchers. The LEGO Movie, supremeleaderbinks asked why Emmet doesn't just kill Lord Business at the end of the movie, to which I explained that since Lord Business is the minifig avatar of Finn's father in the real world, the movie would basically be encouraging children to violently rise up against their parents. They gave a sarcastic response that essentially lists a bunch of movies where children disobey their parents and ended it with an insult. I've removed the edit for complaining, but in case it gets re-added, one of us should probably send a notifier.
openAPP Am I a bad editor?
So I changed the order from the Eastern Zodiac page and I feels guilt about all the changes I had made on this page… Am I a bad person for doing this?
openHate Sink edit war
Characters. My Little Pony Equestria Girls Villains
- Hate Sink: She was hated by some fans for her cruel sadistic actions towards Sunset Shimmer while others favoured her.
incredibubbleirishguy, added this, it was deleted by another troper as misuse (HS is not fan reaction, but narrative intent which wasn't case as character in question was redeemed), and I sent them a PM explaining such.
incredibubbleirishguy added the entry back without explanation, only chasing "favoured" to "liked". Given they ignored prior efforts, brining to attention here.
openRegarding Daki's new page Anime
Someone split Daki's page (43k bytes) due to Upper Ranks page getting more than 250k bytes, but Akaza's folder (66k bytes) was right there and it was not split instead. Should we restore Daki's folder and re-split Akaza's page instead?
Edited by kuchiki222openBadass Decay Playing With misuse?
This was recently added to YMMV.Star Wars Clone Wars:
- Badass Decay: Ventress is first seen to eliminate her competition without even really trying, but in a manner that made her seem efficient and terrifying in combat, which appears again when dispatching Anakin's clone force. However, against Dooku and Anakin himself, she is first handily beaten and then ended up soundly losing in her only other duel, making her seem far from the threat she presented herself as. Possibly justified by the fact that Dooku and Anakin are the only other Force-users she faces in this series, and both have either equal or greater skill and experience than her, with Dooku being a full fledged Sith Lord and Anakin likely having more formal training as a Padawan.
YMMV cannot be played with and this seems a textbook Justifying Edit. But I've seen many other Badass Decay examples where the circumstances are justified, or presented as such by the examples. And Ventress was defeated by Dooku immediately after her showing, is that not too quick to count as decay as this establishes her baseline, powerful but overshadowed by Dooku? And why is it not seen as Ventress's skills being made lesser as opposed to Dooku being established as stronger as the work intended.
I've felt Badass Decay had a lot of issues over this, so asking here what to do.
Edited by Ferot_DreadnaughtopenHow to make a page for a Creator in the Launch Pad? Web Original
I am looking to create a Creator page for my animator friend Wildo Star and his series Jabberwocky, but when I go to the Launch Pad it only gives me an option to make a Trope page. Is there a method to making a Creator page, or do I just need more authentication on my account to access that feature?
openDeleted Links To Official Content
On the Joueur du Grenier subpages, there's
been
a bunch
of deletions of links to the videos the example is referencing.
As far as I can tell the videos were all still up, most from the official Youtube account and there's no edit reason given, should this be reverted? There were some other changes made as well.

I’m interested in making a MPI for an image suggestion on the Image Pickin’ forum, but I’m not sure how to do this. Does anyone have advice on how to make one?
Edited by DataNineopenTLP Descriptions
Every time I try to suggest a trope on the TLP, I get a bomb, paired with a comment that I need a better description and mine doesn't make much sense.
Is there something I'm missing? How do I write a proper description?
