Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

openJak titles Videogame
Jak II and Jak 3 are American video games. Is there any reason we have them listed by their European titles, Jak II: Renegade and Jak 3: Wastelander? The original American titles are red-links that don't even redirect to the proper pages.
openVideo Game or Useful Notes? Videogame
Why is the Game & Watch not a Useful Notes page like other handhelds? Shouldn't Game & Watch be moved?
openLAst WEEK really needs help Videogame
LAst WEEK needs help. The grammar is very broken, there are no spaces between sentences, spaces between commas and colons, and at least one spoiler markup that wasn't put in correctly. The first example is also missing context and capitalization.
openEdit war on YMMV.FireEmblemWarriors Videogame
There's an edit war on YMMV.Fire Emblem Warriors over the wording of a Base-Breaking Character entry. On 11/27, Lunatic0verlord added some more content to the Base-Breaking Character entry. A day later, keyblade333 deleted the addition. Then on 11/30, Lunatic0verlord re-added a similar comment.
Lunatic0verlord did reword his addition to answer keyblade333's edit reason, so we may be ok.
openYin Yarn=Affably Evil? Videogame
Why does Yin Yarn from Kirby's Epic Yarn have an Affably Evil trope with him, how's the description given to him from the trope make him Affably Evil?
openodd trivia example Videogame
I saw Spoiler being used as a trivia entry on the Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) page, presumably having been added before the game came out.
"* Spoiler: Due to the game being datamined months before its release, almost the entire story was revealed in the datamined script for the subtitles (which was revealed to be outdated, but still mostly accurate. These spoilers would later be corroborated with in-game voicelines that were also datamined. The most major spoiler you would've come across is Iden and Del defecting to the Rebel Alliance, sometimes omitting the fact that they're appalled by Operation: Cinder being used on Vardos."
openIs there a policy on whether or not a given work needs a recap page? Videogame
I was mostly wondering because I was vaguely thinking of starting one for Life is Strange, but it's an Episodic Game with 5 "episodes" (plus 4 in its prequel and however many end up being in its sequel next year), so I don't know if that actually follows the intent of the namespace.
openYMMV.PokemonSunAndMoon edit war Videogame
Compactwave and mrbits are edit-warring over posting Ultra Sun and Moon examples on Sun and Moon's YMMV page, particularly on how the former looks in light of the latter and US/UM fixing or exacerbating problems the vanilla versions had. The edit reasons are also getting fairly nasty too. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=YMMV.PokemonSunAndMoon
Since it's multiple tropers I wasn't sure what to do about it.
Edited by lalalei2001openWatch Dogs 2 Videogame
Would someone please make Nightmare Fuel article for Watch Dogs 2? I have seen video about so-called Shuffler mystery.
openIsaac Heller and Pokemon Spoilers Videogame
I'm a bit worried that the Troper Isaac Heller is adding story related spoilers from Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon to various pages, but I don't want to spoil myself from this aspect, so I'm not willing to check his edits.
Edited by PDLopenReworking a YMMV entry Videogame
YMMV entries are just that, but there is one in particular entry in Fire Emblem Warriors that's bugging me:
- Most Annoying Sound:
- "They're in trouble - we've got to help!" anytime your units are damaged. Expect this to crop up in the later levels.
- Actually, pretty much any of Anna's System Voice lines. "I like those profit margins!" Yes, we know, you've only said it 50 times already. note You can change this, thankfully.
- "They're in trouble - we've got to help!" anytime your units are damaged. Expect this to crop up in the later levels.
That 3rd bullet point feels like it doesn't belong because any character can be set as the System Voice. Should it be removed or at least re-worded to be more neutral?
openCharacterDerailment.VideoGames Videogame
I was checking out the CharacterDerailment.Video Games page and noticed a lot of the examples, particularly for Mario and Sonic, seem to be 'this character changed over time', 'this character underwent flanderization', or 'this character's personality/competence varies by the game' rather than 'this character was ruined forever by bad writing.'
openPeople to help build a work page? Videogame
I'd like some other people to work on the Shall We Date?: Destiny Ninja 2 page (since I don't think I'm finding everything I could, and I don't have all the characters up yet). Where would I say "hey, this page exists and it needs attention?"
openSonic Forces edit war Videogame
There's been a small Edit War on the Sonic Forces page over how the ending should be interpreted (spoilers for Sonic forces):
After Infinite is defeated, he's teleported away against his will and afterwards Eggman, despite his ultimate weapon disappearing suddenly, is rather smug in his demeanor about the situation, which implies it was his doing after Infinite's failure and repeated screw ups throughout the game.
After this, Eggman appears in his Death Egg Robot powered by an overclocked Phantom Ruby. At this point in time, only two Phantom Rubies are known to still exist: the one in Infinite's chest and the prototype model that the Avatar has DNA bonded to them, and thus cannot be used by anyone else. Expanded universe materials show Eggman still possesses the original one from Mania, but there's nothing given in game to suggest this is the one he's using in his mech.
I interpreted this as meaning:
Eggman performed a You Have Failed Me on Infinite, and somehow took the Phantom Ruby embedded in his chest back to power his final mecha, as while not explicitly stated, as far as the game's story acts, Infinite's Phantom Ruby is THE Phantom Ruby and it's only from expanded universe materials and DLC that the audience could even know it's a copy of the original, and nothing in either source suggest Eggman was using the original. Further more, Eggman acting smug when Infinite only makes sense if he was responsible, as otherwise...he's acting smug when his ultimate weapon vanished into thin air, and that makes LESS sense.
However, the other troper involved believes this is two speculative to mention and has repeatedly erased my entries despite me expressed explaining my logic in both comments and P Ms.
Here is the explanation they gave: " According to the supplementary comics, eggman just found it outside his base. why it showed up 6+ months before classic sonic did, nobody knows. why it now needs a power supply, nobody knows. sonic team didn't really think this game's story through. He found the original one outside his base, researched/experimented with it, and then made a lot of prototype copies of it (with the perfect one going to Infinite) while he kept the original. I don't think Sonic Team even understands how this game connects to Mania. They just kind of... disregard it."
And
"Eggman has the original who's fate is unknown. It may need more power or send it and Eggman to another dimension for all we know. Infinite obtained a perfect copy of the Phantom Ruby. Avatar obtained the alleged last remaining prototype."
If I am wrong, I accept it, but I feel like it's not 'speculative.
Furthermore, the posts concerning this have even been deleted on YMMV pages such as entries involving Fridge Horror, which I do not feel is fair as YMMV are expressedly subjective in nature and if only two Phantom Rubies exist, it is fair to apply Fridge Horror to the idea Eggman may have disposed of Infinite to retrieve it on the YMMV page.

On the Super Mario 3D World page, is Rosalina being playable considered a spoiler anymore? Some examples spoiler them and others don't.
openPokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon spoilers Videogame
Since review copies are in the wild and someone's going to inevitably leak the game, I think it would be a good time to lock the pages for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

openFate/Grand Order edit war Videogame
There's an edit war going on in Fate/Grand Order: Lancers. I've tried to pull the examples in question to discussion and even sent a PM telling Disorder what would happen if he didn't talk it out, but he has no interest in doing so.
Okay, I thought he was going to discuss things, but now he's acting like this
so I'm not going to engage with him.
openEdit war, possible troll/nazi Videogame
There's a new troper
that has been removing examples in Wolfenstein II's Nightmare Fuel page regarding the real life reactions to the game and its marketing. I found their reasoning very dubious, both in the page's history and in its discussion page. Would anyone take a look and see if that needs solving?

So where do I start? The namespace is incredibly wrong, as it's in Video Games instead of Video Game, and if I remember the rules right, numbers in the namespace are frowned upon, the examples aren't bulleted (apart from a subullet for Interface Screw, weirdly enough), the first example is completely whited out, trope and all, as is the Nice Job Breaking It, Hero! entry, though that one actually does have a visible trope. It's also not indexed.
