Edited by Elemental-PlayeropenCommentspaee and Master Detective Archives Videogame
I was directed here regarding this complaint/issue. I hope this is the proper venue for this sort of topic.
Regarding Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. To some degree this has effected the pages on the game as a whole, but in particular I'd argue the Makoto Kagutsuchi page only even exists separate from the rest of the character pages due to how much one very passionate user has added to it to rant, complain, and (more than anything) repeat themselves through many dozens of entries that may not even really apply to the character. I've long removed entries that blatantly don't fit, but many confrontations with this individual over my edits (I'd hesitate to call these communications debates or arguments as they seldom are willing to engage with me at all other than to condemn me) have sort of burnt me out on trying to trim the pages (to say nothing about how much this user appears to believe I am targeting them on a personal level when from my view I am simply trying to improve the pages). Maybe I am wrong and the pages are fine, but I think they have become bloated with complaining from this user about their interpretation of certain aspects of the plot and the user unnecessarily repeating information. For a few examples:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Characters.MasterDetectiveArchivesRainCodeMakotoKagutsuchi&page=17#edit42630580
(it's quite an exaggeration to call him an evil overlord, given his intentions, actions, and lack of ambitions beyond keeping the homunculi safe)
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Characters.MasterDetectiveArchivesRainCodeMakotoKagutsuchi&page=17#edit42370118
(the character takes their actions seriously, and no worlds are at stake)

How do I make a page for a fanfiction story? I already forgot everything. I need to relearn how to do it. Also, how do I insert an image?

openDragon Age organizations Videogame
The entry for "The Executors" was removed from the Dragon Age – Organizations page for the reason "There's no evidence to suggest the group in the post-credits scene are the Executors." While this is true from a pretty strict standpoint, I feel like the amount of circumstantial evidence for that is hefty enough for it to be added back to the page. Yes or no?
Edited by BilllingtonopenPutting a wait time on a Recap page Videogame
With the upcoming announcement for the new chapter of Project: Eden's Garden, I have thought of making a Recap page for the game. The game's director has said on the game's discord that he is open to the page, but I do have one question in mind:
Seeing as the newest chapter looks like it will be released soon, I figured there should be sort of a time limit on when it and the future chapters should be recapped so as not to completely spoil some newcomers (the prologue's been out for like 2 years, so I'm not worried about that getting spoiled). I proposed a month and a half wait on recapping these chapters to let the spoilers air out, but is there any way to enforce that? Or at the very least, can I leave a comment saying something along the lines of "Please do not Recap this chapter until XX/YY/2025"?

I plan on creating pages for Mario Power Tennis, Mario Tennis Aces, Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, etc by typing them in Super Mario Bros.. If I give the Mario and Sonic games their own page, the 2008, Vancouver, and London games released on Wii and DS/3DS. Should they get one page or two separate?
Resident Bollywood Nerd
openName is excessively long and I cannot find a shortened title Videogame
I was thinking of adding a trope page for a game called "420BLAZEIT 2: GAME OF THE YEAR -=Dank Dreams and Goated Memes=- [#wow/11 Like and Subscribe] Poggerz Edition" (it's on sale on steam and everything
, and it's by the dev of Crossy Road and it's a shockingly good shooter) but it breaks the character limit (not to mention is a pain to link), and I looked for an officially shortened title but I couldn't find anything. Should I let it go or make it?
openFanon discontinuity and other flamebait Videogame
Recently on the YMMV page for Dragon Age: The Veilguard an example under fanon discontinuity was added that mostly comes off as editorializing, with the post even speculating spitefulness on the part of the developers.
A major problem I have with this is that literally the same thing happened to the last two games in the series, with them inspiring massive amounts of people writing them off as discontinuity (and the attempt to pretend such didn't happen is frankly disingenuous). Veilguard has had a contentious reception well before it was released and I feel like it's going to inspire much edit warring among other things.
I know having no such thing as notability is something that comes into play here, but literally anyone can make an edit with weasel words like "many are saying" to make it seem like it's a more commonly held opinion than it is. This is a problem I've noticed across the site. So in the interest of fairness, I say either ax the entry or apply it to the previous two games as well. Regardless, I think the whole complaining about the developers "spiting players" should go in any event.

I haven't seen much Pikmin in tv tropes so. I need you. Fellow tropers. To make trope video examples taken from Pikmin (especially Pikmin 4).
openWhen does Walkthrough Mode become too much and vice versa? Videogame
So, recently I've been trying to clean up some pages from a game for Walkthrough Mode issue. However, when I tried simplifying some entries, someone else said that I've been swinging too hard in simplifying them and thus end up removing too much flair from those entries while erasing context in a way that makes it look like the stat and ability descriptions are just thrown at the readers without proper context, such as why they make a character Game-Breaking in the Game-Breaker page.
It makes me wonder with these points:
1. Is it allowed to write ability names and stats in entries, especially for Game-Breaker or Low-Tier Letdown, in a limited manner so non-fans can get the necessary information on why those characters are good or bad without telling them how to play the chars?
2. Should entries avoid Purple Prose like plague and thus be spartan in length, or can they be a bit on the lengthier side as long as they provide only the necessary context for non-fans, again without telling them how they should play the characters?
3. Does the same standard for ideal entry length and content while avoiding both Walkthrough Mode and ZCE apply to every game or is it dependent on or do different games from different genres and with various levels of complexity have differing standards?
openDoes anyone know about The Quivering? Videogame

openRemoved elaborated context in trope example Videogame
In Characters.Goddess Of Victory Nikke:
- Iron Scope added a Compelling Voice example in Little Mermaid's character folder
, which reads as a ZCE as it only says that she shares a power with two other characters.
- I edited the example
to elaborate on how she fits Compelling Voice as to not make it a ZCE.
- Sonic Gamer 07 alters the example to remove the description of how her powers work
, only referring it by comparing it to other characters and with a work-specific term for it (kotodama).
I don't think it's good to remove context from an example to make it rely on knowledge of other characters instead of letting it stand by itself, which would make it a bit confusing for readers who aren't familiar with the game, plus according to the "hidden trope name" rule of thumb for ZC Es, it doesn't really specify that her powers are a Compelling Voice. Can I add back the elaboration to not make it a ZCE that's too reliant on work knowledge or at least send a notifier to SonicGamer07?
Edited by Excessive-MenaceopenAdding the new TMNT game Videogame
With the new game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed, is there a chance of a trope page for it being added?
Some examples about it:
- Artificial Limbs: Emilie, a swimmer with a prosthetic leg, who befriends Raphael.
- Interspecies Friendship: Apart from April, the turtles make friends with other humans.
- Plot Pants: The turtles aometimes wear clothes that differ from the Mutant Mayhem film.
- Leo wears a blue flannel shirt, partially untucked in light brown pants and white sneakers.
- Raph wears a red letter jacket with his initial on the left, black pants and red sneakers.
- Donnie wears a purple t-shirt, sandy brown pants and purple sneakers.
- Mikey wears an orange beanie, an orange t-shirt with a tiger on it over a light orange shirt, black shorts, white socks and sandals.
- The Bait: The turtles use Mondo Gecko to lure Cammy out of hiding.
- Weaponized Animal: Leatherhead wields a shotgun in her boss battle.
- Where Is Your X Now?: Splinter mentions Scumbug dumped him. But the epilogue shows her on the team mural.
I won’t mind if you don’t wish to comply.
Edited by SeptimusHeapopenWould this count as a "different image"? Videogame
I want to update the image on a page (Project Arrhythmia) to be higher quality, but the logo in the image is outdated. Since the page was made, the spot its image came from (the Steam page) was replaced with a version using the new logo. Do I have to go through the Image Pickin' process to use the new version, or does a change like that not matter enough to?
openCapitalization regarding "Character Levels" Videogame
When referring to the level of a character in a video game, should the word "level" be capitalized in-line? For example, "At level 30, Tropémon learns Chained Sinkhole."
I ask because this has come up over on the Pokémon Crutch Character page. @Monstrel has gone through and capitalized "Level" in cases like this. I sent them a PM asking about it months ago, to which they said this was the proper way. I didn't change anything as it seemed harmless enough. Today, @Hop Hoppip went through and lowercased them all again
.
So which is "right"? An internet search on my end came up inconclusive. Different sources do it differently. We also seem to be pretty inconsistent here on TV Tropes in places where it comes up and I couldn't find a specific guideline on it. My own background (journalism degree, technical writing) makes me think it should be lowercase when in-line like this. Is this another of our classic "first come, first serve" kind of things?
TIA for any input.
Edited by BeerBaronopenSloppy troper makes rude PM Videogame
The Troper Shrakking
has been making some rather nonsensical edits to the TimeSplitters page, such as replacing several character images with AI-generated versions that gave them Uncanny Valley smiles (even trying to pass off an AI-edited photo of Reese Witherspoon
◊ as the character Candi Skyler), and sticking a random portrait of an unimportant side-character in a place it didn't fit. They seemingly got irate over me removing the latter and insulted me via PM over it. Not sure if they've done the same to the other tropers who've been undoing their edits.

I was checking Fridge.Grand Theft Auto V today and discovered that a large portion of content that I saw (and contributed to) some time ago was removed. I checked history and saw that the content was removed by ~Clear Air Turbulence over the course
of
four
edits
with the edit reason being it was mostly WMG or headcanon. The thing is that not everything looks like headcanon or WMG. I also couldn't find any discussion of this removal prior to the edits, so this all might have been unilateral.
