openTurning a character folder into unmarked spoilers for BNA Anime
BNA being BNA: Brand New Animal
I wanted to turn Alan Sylvasta's folder on that page into unmarked spoilers because almost every trope entry in it contains a large amount of blacked-out spoiler text.
I did, though a fellow editor gave me the heads-up that kind of decision requires discussion first so I reverted it the page, though I now gotta ask:
Given Sylvasta's role in the story as an antagonist, should the folder have spoilers marked or unmarked? Also: am I in trouble for jumping the gun on this one?
openRegarding the Kellen Goff page Anime
I was once edit banned for participating in an Edit War on Kellen Goff's page. The previous thread that spoke of this issue
became locked due to the conversation going nowhere and taking too long. However, the moderator GastonRabbit gave me permission via PM to make another thread in hopes of resolving the issue at hand.
His page doesn't any tropes that could reasonably fit at the bottom such as Typecasting, Star-Making Role, or Playing Against Type. I think that there's room to fix this, but it shouldn't be done with Zero Context Examples. Another mod said that the explanation shouldn't be too overblown, either.
Note: The reason why the anime medium was selected for this question is because most of his work is for Anime, or at least Japanese media.

can you help me rename it to Pokémon PK 2 "Christmas Night"?
openVersus Manga Anime
I made a page for Versus but not sure how to make character page because there’s other pages that relate to another series with the word Versus?
Edited by wingedcatgirlopenOshi no Ko Anime
Greetings everyone,
For the anime/manga: Oshi no Ko, to create the Fan Works, does it need to have more than one Fan Fiction story put there?
Simply put, is it okay to make Fan Works page for Oshi no Ko anime/manga with two Fan Fiction stories being put there?
Thank you all, and kind regards.
openWhat is the redirect policy on gender specific tropes? Anime
I was editing a page where I was discussing tropes related to Richter from Daimos. One of the tropes I listed was Alien Prince. I assumed that it would lead to Alien Princess, but instead it led to a redlink. I checked the page Locked Pages: Lock, Un Lock and Edit requests, and it had nothing about gender-specific tropes, so I have decided to take my query here - can the moderators of TV Tropes redirect "Alien Prince" to "Alien Princess"? If not, is there another trope I should use instead? Thank you for your time, and I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask.
openHow do I format character sub-pages? Anime
Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this since I'm new here. If this is the wrong place, I sincerely apologize.
I have split the character sheets
for Voltes V into sub-pages, but I've noticed the page doesn't follow the same formats of other works with character sheets. Can you tell me what I did wrong? In addition, how do I form character indexes? The only thing I know how to do is type "WMG: Title". Thank you in advance!
openNo Himedere, Bitches? Anime
I notice that there are pages for Tsundere, Yandere, Dandere and Kuudere — all of which are listed in UsefulNotes.Anime Fanspeak and are real terms. But "himedere" is also a real term, so why is it not mentioned? Why isn't there a page for it? Is it because there's one or more trope pages discussing "himedere", since it fits these tropes?
openAnime/Manga namespace Anime
So Doraemon has a bunch of Anime/ subpages, such as Doraemon: Nobita's Dinosaur. Thing is, all of these titles are adapted from manga, which is compiled under Doraemon's Long Tales. I don't watch anime, so I don't know how different the adaptation is from the original source, but in that case should all these pages be moved to the Manga/ namespace? Since that's the original media and all.
Edited by Adeptopen Edit war over transgender character Anime
So, Anon V began an edit war on my contributions to Vandread's YMMV page over the issue over whether a character was trans in the story, with it bleeding over into an argument here
.
For context, in Vandread humanity has spread out into various colonies across the galaxy, and two of these colonies: Tarak and Mejere are segregated along gender lines into male and female-only respectively and are at war with each other.
In the anime exists a character named Buzam A. "BC" Calessa who was born male on Tarak as Tenmei Uragasumi but underwent gender reassignment surgery into a woman to infiltrate the Mejere military, and is shown to legitimately identify as a woman, express gender euphoria after it's revealed. Her arc in the final few episodes even ends with her explicitly saying she wants nothing to do with her old life and reaffirms her allegiance to the crew of the Nirvana as BC.
Now this is a very clear trans character, to the point where calling it an "allegory" is grossly underselling it, but according to Anon V, this isn't enough to call her as such, saying she's "not traditionally trans" despite the fact she literally is.
Edited by MacronNotesopenDo Image Collages of offical art need permission from the collage maker Anime
Hello, I was thinking about suggesting some images for Magical Girl since the original image was fanart that needed permissions, and was thinking of suggesting some collage images: (those being here
, here
◊, and here
◊. The issue is that while all those collages use offical art, I didn't make them. Is it ok for me to suggest them or do I need permission too?
openPotential Edit War? Anime
On the In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki funny page, there was this initial entry under the Episode 9 folder:
"* Tsubaki was so traumatized the last time she heard the word "ding-a-ling", that when Rindou explains that snakes are somewhat like a man's privates, Tsubaki freezes up in shock, looks at the audience, and utters a deflated "Huh?" in response."
On April 26th, this troper under the name Malbicho
makes these two
edits
in rather poor quality. I tried to mend this two days later
, only for them to come back on May 3rd to undo it and make another edit
.
From the looks of it, they appear to only have been here for a minimum of two months. They've also gone ahead to delete and/or poorly edit other pages during that time - all with no justified nor stated reason.
Edited by Henshin4LifeopenEdit War for Love Live Five Man Band Anime
I noticed Frankie 3 added Five-Man Band to Love Live! Superstar!! and adjusted the text to fit a more probably sequence as The Big Girl looked shoe-horned and The Chick is a disambiguated trope.
Without an edit reason, they re-added the tropes again with some altered text, no responses back yet. You can see the edits here
.
Looking at their edit history, they also added Five-Man Band to another Love Live character page
over here
, though this one seems incorrect as well since the series gradually builds to a group of 9, there's never even a point where the group has only 5 members. I didn't remove it here yet, but figured doing so might be met with an attempt to paste it back in.
I haven't gotten a response yet from the notifiers I've sent to them.

Edited by JampoloopenArranging Gundam X's episodes into arcs? Anime
I'm noticed that After War Gundam X's episodes can be arranged into compact arcs, and I've noticed that the recap page for Season 2 of Gargoyles is arranged into arcs (albeit longer ones).
Would it be too disruptive if I arranged Gundam X's episodes into arcs with subheadings?
Edited by DancouMaryuuopenWeblinks to facebook and image hosting websites Anime
Hi everyone,
While reading the Nightmare Fuel page of Kimetsu no Yaiba
, I encountered an entry in the "Red Light District Arc" (third bullet point, second sub-bullet) which contains two weblinks: one to a facebook page, and one to what I guess is an image hosting website (well, your guess is as good as mine regarding a website called "sportshub" being that kind of website). Both links are used to show screens of what the character looks like in the anime.
From Weblinks Are Not Examples, it seems it is frowned upon to use links like that. Moreover, the entry itself is written well enough to not necessitate those images. Thus I'm contacting tropers to ask if I should remove these links or leave them as is. I know there is a tolerance for some weblinks (namely when linking to songs - and even then, broken You Tube links happen quite often), but I'm not quite sure this qualify.
EDIT: There is another instance of this kind of link a little further actually, under the "Chapter 92-94/S 2 E 10:" bullet point of the same folder.
Edited by NonoRobotopen Urusei Yatsura: Dirty Old Monk? Anime
In Urusei Yatsura, one of the antagonistic characters is an itinerant Buddhist monk named Sakuranbo (who prefers to go by Cherry because the characters of his name can mean either "Cherry Fruit" or "Deranged Priest"), whose primary source of comedy is that he's a shameless mooch who regularly tries to blackmail food from people in need of his services or outright steals food from people. Obviously, this is pretty unfitting behavior for a priest, especially paired with Cherry's bungling efforts at "saving" people (like deliberately pushing Ataru off a bridge and under a falling power line), but is there a trope for this kind of "fallen priest"? My first thought was Nun Too Holy, as that trope's name suggests, to me, a catch-all for "non-evil but clearly improperly behaving clergy". But that's specifically for female clergy, with the male counterparty being Dirty Old Monk, and both are focused on lustful or sex-focused "holy" characters, and Cherry's failing is gluttony rather than lust (outside of that episode in the 1981 anime that implies he's a furry). Is there an appropriate trope here to cover Cherry's status as a holy man who really doesn't act very holy?

Minor example sorting disagreement in TLP: Should anime films (e.g. Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor: The Movie) go in Film — Animated folders like western animated films (Shrek, Toy Story), or in Anime and Manga? For the last while I've been thinking the latter should be mainly for serialized works.
