openBuzz Lightyear Adventure Begins Western Animation
Hello. I have made a standalone page for Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure begins, since I do not necessarily want to call it an episode of BLOSC:https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/WesternAnimation/BuzzLightyearOfStarCommandTheAdventureBegins
I have done this to replace this page:https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Recap/BuzzLightyearOfStarCommandE1TheAdventureBegins
Is this okay?
openTroping EarlyBirdRelease Western Animation
What is TV Tropes' policy regarding troping works that have been released early in some parts of the world? To be more specific, season 2 of Star Trek: Prodigy has been made legally available in France before its international release on Netflix (apparently because of some miscommunication due to the series' Channel Hop). Is it acceptable to create Recap pages for Season 2 episodes now (and possibly add tropes to the other pages), or is it advised to wait for the international release before doing so?
Edited by C105openEdit War over natter, complaining entry Western Animation
On the Base-Breaking Character page of Miraculous Ladybug:
- This sub-entry was initially added
by Kingslayer 38.
- Because it came off as a mix of Natter and complaining, as well as the fact it didn't really belong on a Base Breaking Character page, I deleted it
.
- Kingslayer38
re-added a few days later with no edit reason.
openRe create The recap for Wolverine and the X-Men Western Animation
May recreate the recap page for Wolverine and the X-Men? I am already prepared to create a recap page for an episode or two when I know it’s okay.

openTroper M00ny4rzu needs a tap on the shoulder. Western Animation
Troper M00ny4rzu keeps on adding back An Aesop for this recap page for the Bluey show, despite there being a cleanup for the wick. I had added the reason it was removed and the troper put the example back. The second time, I added much more details.
openWeird Edit Removal Reason Western Animation
On YMMV.Dexters Laboratory Walt K removed this entry
- Self-Fanservice:
- Dexter and Mandark get a lot of this in fanart.
- Dee Dee gets her fair share of this, especially when most artists think she'll take after her mom. It doesn't help that Dexter once described Dee Dee as "her hips a bit meaty".
they removed it
with the edit reason "inappropriate" (presumably meaning "sexualizing characters from a children’s series is inappropriate")
Whether you agree with them or not, YMMV is just troping Audience Reactions, and we’ve had other Self-Fanservice entries from kids shows. Even if it is "inappropriate" we’re just troping what fans believe. Is this ok, or should I add it back?
openVandal messing with kids' shows again Western Animation
TearJerker.Peppa Pig was just made by Jakob10 that consists of "*Mummy Rabbit sprained her ankle. *Mummy Sheep has a cough."
openEdit war on YMMV/BrotherBear Western Animation
The YMMV page on Brother Bear used to include a Vindicated by History entry, which I removed on the grounds that the movie's critical consensus hasn't really switched around. While some viewers appreciate some of the themes being juggled, it still stands out for being fairly forgettable and for many of the themes being really undercooked, which doesn't fit with the standards for Vindicated by History (Which is a total critical reversal)
- Vindicated by History: For a long period of time, it was considered one of Disney's weakest films, with some even ranking it alongside Home on the Range and Chicken Little, with complaints about anachronistic dialogue, a predictable plot, and unlikeable characters. In later years, however, many consider it an underrated gem in spite of its flaws, with many praising the themes of revenge and seeing past differences, along with the movie's criticism of the mindset of love being unmasculine. The film's vivid visuals and stunning wilderness scenery help it stand out as well. It's telling that there was a resurgence of merchandise in The New '20s such as shirts, collectible pins, and a 20th anniversary Disney Sketchbook Ornament.
Mr Media Guy 2, the user who originally added the entry, added it back later with the next comment "If the reaction to it is more positive than when it first came out, yes, it absolutely does count." which to me means he isn't familiar with the actual tenets of the trope, nor how his edit constitutes an edit war. I sent him a PM, which he subsequently ignored, so I'm now reporting the edit war here.

I was reading over the page the spectacular Spider-Man and I saw in the example of secret keeper that according to word of God MJ knows Peter secret. Can someone please provide the source?
openEdit war (?) on YMMV.Hilda Western Animation
I think there is a possible edit war on YMMV.Hilda.
Back in December 11, 2023, Nic Master Trope added a Base-Breaking Character entry covering Anders from S3
, which I then deleted since it violates No Recent Examples, Please! (as it had only been a couple of days after the season aired (december 7) and examples require a six month waiting period after the work/season's release). However, on April 29, 2024, Nic Master Troper re-added and expanded the example
, once again violating No Recent Examples, Please! (waiting period for S3 examples is not over til June 7) and ignoring the commented out saying not to put such examples until the waiting period is up.
I am taking it here, because I want to avoid an edit war and the user has now violated No Recent Examples, Please! twice.

The animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai is apparently changing its name to Gremlins: The Wild Bunch for its second season. What’s the best way to handle this scenario?
openHellaverse Cleanup Western Animation
There's a person over at https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=16977644850A38597900&page=7#154
that I don't know what to do about anymore.
They've resorted several times to personal insults ("No wonder so many people have been saying that bad faith critics have been taking over the tv tropes page if these are the sort of arguments being presented..") We'd pretty much argued it down to a finished entry, and then they decided that "You're being mean and so I'm taking back my offer of a compromise."
Blitzo said, in no uncertain terms, "This is a really bad time" and "I'm trying not to get fucked in my A." Their insistence, on this page and several others, is that Stolas had no way of knowing Blitzo was in *any* kind of trouble or duress or stressful situation. I'm at a loss.
Edited by SpacecoyoteopenRestoring the We Were The Louds Page Western Animation
I'd like to ask to recreate the TV Tropes page for "We Were The Louds" by Black-Kyurem. I don't really know the exact tropes, but I hope that others do and expand upon it, though I don't want it to be them doing my dirty work for me.

openUnexplained Reverts of ATT approved writeups with rejected writeups on CharacterPerceptionEvolution Western Animation
So quite a while ago, there was a discussion on Tighten
from Megamind’s characterPerceptionEvolution entry with everyone in ATT and it was agreed by all that Hal was always viewed as creepy and entitled by viewers whom weren’t children, with even Hal fans in the oldest livejournal communities admitting the character was a creep.
Howerver Joe Mere suddenly removed the approved ATT entry and replaced it with the rejected write up that claimed Hal was sympathized with until recently without giving any sort of edit reason.
I messaged them about it months ago, linking the ATT and they ‘’never’’ gave any sort of answer whatsoever.
On a similar note, when Miraculous removed the unapproved Hal/Tighten entry
on the Character Perception Evolution page, another user, Blase Son Of A Gun 1988 added it back, again with no edit reason being given
.
Should we intervene?
Edited by Monsundopen"Writers Cartoon". Should it have a page here? Western Animation
I've been on twitter and a couple of John Kricfalusi fanboys (spumdonor and eatmyspum) have been throwing around the expression "writer cartoon".
In a surface level, it seems to refer to animated series that let their dialogue to do all the work when it comes to the comedy whereas the animation take a back seat. These two (and supposedly Kricfalusi himself) hate these kinds of cartoons because they don't take enough advantage of things like going off model or smear frames. Instead,"writer cartoons" rely on pop culture references, puns, Catskill humor, parodies and other things that "kill" the comedy.
Writer cartoons include "Animaniacs", "Tiny Toon Adventures", and I guess everything made by Tom Ruegger.
EDIT: Accourding to "Cartoon Aesthetics" (actually spumdonor's YT account), a writer cartoon is a "cartoon not written by cartoonists".
Edited by Numbuh1507openDoes this count as slut-shaming? Western Animation
In Beavis and Butt-Head, the duo and Adler repeatedly harass a girl named Kimberly by calling her a "vile temptress" for 'sexually attracting the boys' (the duo got erections because she is attractive). Does this still count as slut-shaming, or not really?

One final query about my two Disney fanfics (and the tropes pages for them which I acknowledge were purely self-promotional). Will the cut tropes pages become invisible on the search are at some point if someone were to type "Cinderella: The TRUE Sequel" or "Once Upon a Studio: Version 2.0"? I'd just like to ask just to make absolutely sure that nobody can gain access to the cut pages, because I'm well aware this time that TV Tropes advises against self-promotion.
don't worry though if you don't think there is a way to stop any cut pages from appearing in search areas
