openErrorverse — Entry Cleanup Web Original
Given that the Errorverse page was cut
for Auto-Erotic Troping (and its creator Rage Quitting TV Tropes) and is unlikely to be restored
, I'm wondering if it should be removed from the Fan Works pages that it's listed on. I took the liberty of doing so
on the Fan Works page for Super Mario Bros., but I figured I'd ask before hunting down and commenting out other instances. (And if I shouldn't, I commented it out instead of removing it precisely so that my edit could easily be undone.)
openIP check request on possible sock
Can I request an IP check on Gameplayer and Zakitaro I think they’re the same person. Here’s why:
- They edit the same tropes on Star Wars – Anakin Skywalker and Star Wars – Obi-Wan Kenobi.
- They edit Regular Show, Kamen Rider, and the Amazing World of Gumball pages.
- Gameplayer started editing 4 days after Zakitaro’s last edit. I don’t know what happened to Zakitaro maybe they deleted their account, maybe they got suspended, maybe they got bounced, or they might have simply just left but it still feels suspicious.
openCould I add an Unintentionally Unsympathetic to a YMMV? Live Action TV
I was wondering if I could add an Unintentionally Unsympathetic for the YMMV page for "The Closer". For context throughout seasons 3 and 4 there's pressure on Brenda for her to remove one of her team members, preferrably Lietenant Provenza considering his age. This could be seen as a sad example of ageism in the workplace, except Provenza has either lost evidence on numerous occasions (To Protect & To Serve, Dial M for Provenza, Tapped Out, and Fool's Gold) the last of which being even worse because he couldn't tell that a robbery had taken place. His antics have led to him kidnapping a man (To Serve with Love) because he wanted to make extra money. He left his gun in his desk drawer which allowed a mob boss to take him hostage with it. The episode (Flashpoint) has him openly oggling an underage girl's breasts from the video room, only feigning shame when Brenda calls him on it. Pope only comes to an understanding with Provenza when he reveals that an agreement with one of his ex-wives means she gets everything once he retires, something Pope understands thanks to his rocky relationship with his ex-wife.
openWhat's the deal with these How I Met Your Mother pages? Live Action TV
I was wick checking when I came across a series of nine pages called HIMYM.Tropes Season One through HIMYM.Tropes Season Nine. Going back to the main How I Met Your Mother made me kind of confused. How I Met Your Mother's main page has several folders full of tropes, but then at the bottom there's a folder called "Season Specific Tropes" that links to the pages in the HIMYM namespace. Beyond how I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to use initialisms like HIMYM in page headers, why are these not moved to either the main page or pages of tropes listed alphabetically (which How I Met Your Mother doesn't currently have)? Also, the series already has every single episode with its own Recap page, are these not more or less redundant? What's the deal here?
openRed Links on Disambig pages?
Are red links not allowed on green dismabig pages? I just saw one was removed from Dolls for a work that doesn't have a page yet, with the note that disambig pages should only point to pages that already exist.
openWhatMeasureIsAnIndex
I brought this up at Is This an Example, but got no reply so I am bringing the discussion here.
What Measure Is an Index? is about Narrative Disregard, but with most tropes listed the disregard comes from the characters which the story portrays negatively.
- What Measure Is an Alternate Reality? (Expendable Alternate Universe)
- What Measure Is Another Race? (Would Be Rude to Say "Genocide") Would Be Rude to Say "Genocide" involves in-universe covering up of Genocide, rarely if ever does the story itself disregard the genocide.
- What Measure Is Another Realm? (Up the Real Rabbit Hole)
- What Measure Is a Traitor? (Category Traitor) Usually the character declaring other to be a Category Traitor is portrayed as a hateful bigot
- What Measure Is a Humanoid?
- What Measure Is a Mook?
- What Measure Is a Clone? (Expendable Clone)
- What Measure Is a Non-Animal? (That Poor Plant)
- What Measure Is a Non-Cute? (Bambi Effect)
- What Measure Is a Non-Human?
- What Measure Is a Non-Magic? (Wrong Context Magic) Wrong Context Magic is rarely potrayed as bad or expandable by the story itself.
- What Measure Is a Non-Original Item? (Ship of Theseus) Theseus' Ship Paradox is a discussion of whether an item is the original or not, but rarely is said item treated as expandable due to not being original.
- What Measure Is an Infidel? (With Us Or Against Us) With Us or Against Us is a mentality portrayed in a negative light, with said individuals rightfully defending themselves.
- What Measure Is a Dissenter? (The Complainer is Always Wrong)
- What Measure Is a Non-Super? (Muggle Power) Rarely does Muggle Power involve genuinely oppressed muggles treated as just jealous by the narrative. Stories themselves disregarding the lives and views of muggles is a potential trope in and of itself.
- What Measure Is a Non-Unique? (Uniqueness Value)
- What Measure is a Unique? (All of the Other Reindeer) All of the Other Reindeer is about society shunning the character being portrayed in a negative light, usually learning an aesop about said shunning.
openBest Way to go Trope Shopping?
I'm trying to add tropes to a series that I know has quite a few, what's the best way to go about finding the exact tropes i'm thinking of?
openEdit War on MHA Anime
So there was a small edit was between me and MrSeyker on whether or not Mei Hatsume started the Lightly Labs agency or is simply working at it. I’m reporting it simply to announce that after some research we’ve confirmed that it’s best to leave the entry that she simply works at it. I’m announcing this in order to simply tell that the issue has been solved and there’s no need for a hefty drama.

Alright like a monkey humanoid similar to the many tabletop games featuring vanaras or comics and mangas where people get turned into monkey humanoids.

openReporting Troper for Un-hiding Zero Context Examples
As I was requested to do so here
by TantaMonty, Scarlet Jersey unhid some Zero Context Examples on Narm.Marvel Cinematic Universe here
and here
, some of which they did not even add additional context to, like the Thor entries.
They also removed the Administrivia warning at the top of the page that said not to unhide Zero Context Examples without adding sufficient context, even though there were still other ZCEs on the page.
openUser removing relevant notes from an index
Some video games (E.G. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl) were developed in multiple countries (not just through outsourcing, but by having multiple "lead" developers), and when listed on the Works By Nationality indices, they have notes pointing it out. A few days ago, mrnickname removed every such note
from Swedish Media, with the edit reason "Video games aren't movies. They don't have 'international co-productions'." which, as I just said, isn't true. Is it okay to restore these?

Can't these be normalized? Should the pages be moved accordingly?
Edited by AmonimusopenQuestion
Hello. How are you? I had a question about something that happened on TV Tropes and I did not know who to ask so I decided to ask here. I made a post two days ago on "Is this an example?" about an edit on the Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Female Students page for Junko Enoshima. I asked people if they agreed with my stance that Mukuro Ikusaba is Faux Affably Evil, since my edit about that got replaced with Affably Evil. I explained why I believed that and they agreed with me so I undid the edit and put my own back and even linked where the discussion in "Is this an example?" was. The next day I saw that the same person ignored my edit and put their own edit back despite me even linking where it was decided that she is Faux Affably Evil. I was wondering if there were any rules against this?
Here is the post in "Is this an example?"

openTriple-posting query on the Hate Sink cleanup thread
On the Hate Sink Cleanup thread
, Nic Master Trope has been bumping his query regarding the entry on Kotaro Shimura, despite being reminded not to re-post said query if it's on the same page
. The triple-posting issues has been previously brought up here
and here

What should we do about this?
Edited by gjjonesopenPossible ban evader
A few years ago it was found that the banned troper Eegah
was ban-evading and his new profile was blocked. I’m a little suspicious that the user X-Factor
may also be this person since they made their profile within a year of this happening, and about a year ago they made many entries on Lost recap pages which read near-identically to things I remember Eegah saying in his video reviews of the series (most of which were taken down years ago).
openAbout making a new page.
At the moment I have written down something for a page I've been thinking about making for a crossover fic and I feel like everything is mostly all right I kind of want to know what happens if there is something about it that need some change or gets removed.
If it gets removed, what do I do? Remake it and try to make it better than before? if I do go through with this it's going to be my first time even creating a page on TV tropes so at the moment I'm pretty much a rookie.

Mild spoilers for Anora
Separately: the turning point of the film is marked by Ivan running from the house when his parents hear of his wedding to Anora and send Igor and two other family enforcers to try and annul it, ignoring Anora calling to him as he flees
I wrote that it was Foreshadowing that Ivan is actually a shitty husband and it is specifically noted by one of the enforcers that him running is proof enough
Whoseline 198 removed my addition without an edit reason; when i added it back with some clarification and a notice for Example Indentation they removed it again
Not sure how to proceed
