openAdministrative Lock Question Western Animation
So how long do pages remain under administrative lock? Because the character pages for Spider-Man: Spider-Verse have been like that for ages and there's some edits I wanted to add.
open Glisten and the Merry Mission Western Animation
I just made a page for a christmas movie I saw called Glisten and the Merry Mission with tropes and everything. However, I added Adult Fear, forgetting that's an index now. I am certain there is a trope for that description, but I can't remember what it is. Based on the description I have there, what trope would fit in that scenario?
openTwo crosswicking related questions Western Animation
[Note: I've edited this query to include another related question]
One is for Dub Name Change, another is for Keep Circulating the Tapes, both for Dad'X.
For Dub Name Change, I'm struggling because the example I have is from French to English as well as other languages, and a lot of folders appear to be for one-to-one language examples.
- Dad'X: Foudror is the villain's name in the show's original French. He's otherwise known as Striker in English, Georgian, Russian and Chinese dubs, while in Italian he's called Fragore.
For Keep Circulating the Tapes, would this be considered a straight example or rescued?
- Dad'X: Only episodes 1 to 6 are confirmed to have physical media, in French on DVD and VHS, and in Russian on VHS only. It has yet to be found where the English version aired considering that no physical copies in that language exist. Some less than standard clips in Russian and Georgian survive online. All other episodes were missing up until they were uploaded in Amazon in 2021. So far, the English episodes have been purchased to be uploaded on archive.org
. French episodes are available on Dailymotion
.
open Regarding Race Tropes and characters coded based off of race Western Animation
Just making sure and asking out of curiosity, but can race-specific tropes be used for coded nonhuman characters? I'm thinking of adding Uncle Tomfoolery as a trope for a character's folder on a Western Animation character sheet; said character is heavily black-coded (they're also confirmed to be based off of the character in the page image for Uncle Tomfoolery via Word of God), but I'm not sure if it can really apply as they're completely nonhuman (they're not humanoid either, just a Cartoon Creature) and racially ambiguous design-wise.
Edited by kosquaredopenTroper with an agenda/heavy bias? Western Animation
On YMMV.South Park Joining The Panderverse, Wadatahmydamie removed a block of text
which I will write in bold.
- Misaimed Fandom: Despite mocking both sides of the debate on diverse media equally, and the fact that Trey and Matt reguarly aren't on anyone's side, many Many articles about the episode and even some fans took the "rage-baiting" parts of the episode at face value. This largely stemmed from (later found to be false
) rumors about Rachel Zegler reacting excessively negatively to the episode, as news of the live-action Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs being delayed was published an hour after the special came out, and fans had been speculating from the special's trailer that there'd be a passing mention of the former in the final product.
With the edit reason of: "Removed grossly misleading editorializing - it came across like an attempt to poison the well against criticism of Matt and Trey, who have a long history of attacking marginalized communities in the name of 'satire.'"
As a fan of the show, I'm not sure how to handle this. But having watched the episode, I can say that the episode does indeed mock both sides equally. Wadatchmydamie, I feel, is troping with a lot of bias against the show. But then again, South Park is controversial after all.
Should I restore it? Send them a notifier? Do nothing? Were they actually right? I'm not sure.
I mostly wanted to ask to prevent a possible edit war in the future.
Edited by AudioSpeaks2openReplacing outdated/offensive terms with more accurate ones Western Animation
I noticed a bunch of entries on The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Disney) has the word 'Gypsy' replaced with 'Romani' and I'm wondering what the site's policy is on this sort of thing since gypsy is the term used by the film despite it being offensive and outdated.
Edited by papyru30openMax Steel (2013) Western Animation
If my question reaches you owners of tv tropes, then I ask. Can I edit something on the max steel 2013 characters page? About molly mcgrath and katherine 'kat' ryan, I want to add the tags ms. fanservice and male glaze. Since both of them have scenes of those examples
Edited by TabsopenEdit War Western Animation
On the Nightmare Fuel page of The Simpsons:
- New troper Zetaman 2814 deleted the page image
without consent.
- I re-added
it while sending a notifier.
- They re-deleted
it moments later, only then responding to the notifier by claiming they didn't like the image for being too grotesque.
openDid Beast Boy and Cyborg cross the Moral Event Horizon in Teen Titans Go!? Western Animation
So in the episode Hey Pizza! all the way in Season 1, BB and Cyborg attempt to get free pizza but no matter what methods they use, the delivery guy always manages to make it to them on top.
So in one last effort to one-up the guy, Cyborg presses a secret button on the Titan computer that activates a laser they have in space. The laser activates and fires down into the pizza joint, completely destroying it and nearby buildings and cars. It's clear they've probably killed at least 50 people.
So my question is that should this be considered a Moral Event Horizon moment for these two?
Edited by TBmacho22openImage formatting in the ''Transformers G1'' character pages Western Animation
For a good while now, I’ve noticed that the character images on the G1 Transformers character page (and its subpages) are unformatted and offset to the left. I assume they should be formatted like every other image on the site, but I also wanted to check if there's a legitimate reason to keeping them as they are now.
Edited by NotsofriendlyopenHow do I add an episode to an index? Western Animation
I'm trying to fix a few episodes on the King of the Hill Recap page, and I don't know how to add them to the already existing index?
openRemake Simpsons Recap: portrait of a lackey on fire Western Animation
The recap page for the Simpson’s episode Recap / The Simpsons S 33 E 8 Portrait Of A Lackey On Fire red links and contains the following:
“ Note: This page was cut for reason: Page created by ban evader Creating red links in 5 articles. Abandoning 362 inbound links. You may want to ask in Ask The Tropers about whether it's safe to recreate.”
Could it be recreated? I would say it’s significant episode not to be troped (it gained a lot of media attention at the time it aired because it teased Smithers’ having a serious boyfriend)
openWhat's a good alternative to 'What an Idiot!' Western Animation
I want to add a 'What an Idiot!' trope to an episode of Helluva Boss, where the mob boss tried to get his son to marry this other guy who claimed he was rich, but it turns out it wasn't.
The 'WAI' comes in because the mob boss didn't once think to check if he was telling the truth, and was established to be a very threatening person
Would WAI work or is there another trope that would work better?
Also, used 'Western Animation' as there was no 'Web Animation'
F1 the MS Office robo-assistant
openEdit war over a trans voice actor Western Animation
A troper named NoonboryKedabory edit-warred over the name of a trans voice actor/actress on Characters.PAW Patrol by replacing the name "Alex Thorne" with "Emily Thorne"
, and then replacing it again
after another troper named Lunacat reverted it
.
openReporting a troper Western Animation
Mellbee has been editing pages mostly relating to the Blue's Clues franchise lately. While I wouldn't mind it, why I'm reporting them is that they've been showing recurring poor grammar, spelling, and capitalization, like in here
. They also have problems with word cruft
and example context
. They've also un-commented out ZCEs, as seen here
; while they did appear to expand context on some of them, they barely expanded on others.
I've sent multiple notifiers for these issues, but the troper in question doesn't seem to heed by them.
openHow is Zurg in the Hijacked by Ganon Trope? Western Animation
Which episode have Zurg be featured in the trope of Hijacked by Ganon?
openDisney Sing-Along Songs Western Animation
Does anyone else think that the section of WesternAnimation.Disney Sing Along Songs that lists every song of every video looks redundant compared to the Recaps of every video?
openTroper removing content from WMG.Pibby Western Animation
This morning, P360360P removed the entire "Crossovers" folder on WMG.Pibby with the edit reason "Don't get any ideas, guys! It is already traumatizing having our favorite Cartoon Network and Hanna Barbera characters suffering from a fate worse than death with no hope of escape, and it'd be far too much having all sorts of non-Cartoon Network characters suffering from this sort of thing!"
I think this reasoning is VERY unjustified, as if I'm not wrong from my experience with the Pibby fandom, getting traumatized by seeing your favorite childhood cartoon characters being infected by a meta-based Eldritch Abomination is one of the hypothetical show's main appeals. Plus, it completely undermines the point Wild Mass Guessing allowing people to do whatever guesses they want, even if they clearly sound unlikely to happen or make no sense at all.
I solicit a mod reversion of P360360P's edit.
Edited by Inky100

I'm asking the question because in 'Unhappy Campers', Moxxie, the usual smart/straight man of the group was seemingly made into a narcisstic attention whore who got jealous of Millie, even though none of these traits were ever shown (or if they were, weren't to the extent), possibly to make Millie (who had little development during the whoel series) loo good.
