openComplainy entry of ArcFatigue Anime
Eternity Of Spirits added several entries to the YMMV page of Boruto, several of these were misuses which I removed explaining why in the comments. But this one in particular stroke me as overtly complainy:
- The manga in general is infamous for its very slow pacing, generally stretching out rather simple storylines out into multi-chapter arcs that last several months, often reiterating the same bits of information multiple times with little variance. Perhaps the most infamous example is Naruto's fight with Delta, where a single fight was stretched out for three months of real time despite relatively little actually happening in the fight itself, capped off by Delta self-destructing as a means of escape after being defeated, rendering basically the entire fight largely pointless. Many have said that the manga is still written under the idea of it being a weekly, even though the monthly release schedule means that the format and reader expectations are vastly different.
I originally reworded the entry to address that most of these issues are due to a monthly release, since if you read the manga back to back without waiting for the next chapter the pacing becomes better and many fans have said that the manga would be better if it had a weekly release. But they reverted it claiming that "I fail to see how being monthly excuses the poor pacing."
Any thoughts on this or is this just me?
openUnintentionally Unsympathetic examples?
I asked Unintentionally Unsympathetic Cleanup about these suspect examples but I haven't hear anything back in three days.
UnintentionallyUnsympathetic.Literature
- In the eyes of many fans, Luke Skywalker became this toward the end of the Star Wars Legends continuity, frequently sanctioning drastic measures such as torture and assassination to stop villains. The intent was to show the character growing increasingly cynical with age, but the fans argue back that even so, that's not a very good way to write Luke Skywalker.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: To some, the heroes for sending Cozy to Tartarus without a single hint that she would ever be freed by them, when a temporary placement in a juvenile mental facility would have worked fine.
- My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic S9 E25 "The Ending of the End – Part 2"
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Discord, Celestia, and Luna get this from some fans for reasons related to the Moral Dissonance mentioned on the main page (them turning the trio to stone despite the fact that they were technically victims of entrapment. Cozy Glow and Tirek especially due to the fact they were already serving time in Tartarus until Discord broke them out and the princesses and Discord turn them to stone instead of sending them back there).
I believe Unintentionally Unsympathetic has to explain why the characters why they were supposed to be sympathetic in those situations, not just the complaints.
Luke I say cut because it complains about his character direction as opposed to intended portrayal.
Pony examples state "for some" which is Weasel Words and have been subject to debate here. For the first one the issue is covered by Cozy being Unintentionally Sympathetic (to other characters she proved as evil as the worst villains and wholly unrepentant, the problems on Cozy's writing not theirs). For the latter Moral Dissonance was decided as the compromise to a cover the issue, adding UU seems to go being that.
Thoughts?
Edited by Ferot_DreadnaughtopenEdit War Anime
One known as Love Psychothefirst has deleted a trope twice I had placed on the anime page Code Geass on a character known as Lelouch which I've concluded to be Ax Crazy and even placed an example where he shows murderous intent.
openBroken Base commented out
I removed Broken Base from YMMV.Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 as it needs six months. It was added back commented out which I assume is the same as sneaking it in. Cut?

How do I post a picture of a character on that character's character page?
openTropower
Tropower is a user that just caught my eye, and I normally don't report people this quickly, but their editing is...worrisome. History here, let's dive in:
- Here, they deleted "Jesus" as a swear word.
- Numerous Context Problems
- Indentation Problems, too.
- Any mention of 4Kids becomes potholed to Macekre, apparently because doing otherwise is too subjective. Not to mention deciding to call Ash "Satoshi" on the same page, in defiance of translation rules.
All in all, they got some serious editing problems, and while I did send a context notifier, they definitely need something more.
Edited by WarJay77openUserformat and Jonerp
I'm suspecting these users are the same person; both have the same poor grammar, same avatar, and both have made garbage drafts on the TLP in a short amount of time. While it seems obvious, I'm not sure it's kosher, especially not where the TLP is concerned. There are enough problematic drafts there without someone making bad drafts on two different accounts...
openNo Title Western Animation
Sa Marion has been vandalizing some unnecessarily character pages
Edited by Ninamarie124open About rulers Western Animation
Is this already a trope? An important job like a king or a judge is trusted on someone cute,or little?and people around them trusts on them?
Edited by nombretomadoopenAbout the "Xer and Yer" tropes
Y'know, like Darker and Edgier, Lighter and Softer, Hotter and Sexier, Denser and Wackier, etc.
Which one came first?
Also, I'd like to make a page for "Dark Parody" because Dark Fic only covers fanfiction and not, say, episodes of shows which parody works, but I'm worried that Darker and Edgier already covers that, but then again, it's theoretically only applying to a Tone Shift, so are the "Xer and Yer" tropes solely about Tone Shifts? Because I've seen them used for parodies, fanfiction, etc.
openEdit war on Characters/Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency
On October 23, Seguir changed the names of the folders for Kars, Wamuu, and Esidisi on Characters.Jojos Bizarre Adventure Battle Tendency to Cars, Wham, and ACDC in order to match the Musical Theme Naming going on. On the 26th, The Orb Of Confusion removed these names, as they aren't used in official translations. Today, Seguir added the band names back while also changing every mention of the characters on the page to use these names too. And now The Orb Of Confusion changed them back. Orb then brought up the issue on the discussion page, but at this point both parties are already in an Edit War.
For what it's worth, I feel that Orb is in the right here since that's always been the spelling used in official translations, but that doesn't excuse edit warring.
openNo Title
So a while back I commented out a bunch of ZCEs on Literature.Shadow Falls, then someone came by and uncommented just one without expanding it at all.
I sent them a notifier of course but what now? Do I have to leave it there because re-commenting would be an Edit War, or, ?
(It also claims to be "deconstructioned" but I remember it as a fairly straight example but also it's been ages since I actually read those books so maybe there's something I forget and this is why we don't allow ZCEs)
e: Much later I thought to check and it turns out they're the one who added the example in the first place. So then it's already an edit war.
Edited by wingedcatgirlopenWhy are these indexes?
I've been looking at some franchises' index lists recently, and I've seen a few pages where I'm either not convinced they should be indexed, or I know they shouldn't be and am not sure how to un-index them:
openPhineas and Ferb characters button leads to the contributors page.
I think this is a serious bug. I was trying to look up the characters page for Phineas and Ferb but selecting it opened up the contributors page instead. I looked for a bug fix forum but couldn't find it.
openSpeculative Troping on Peter Rabbit?
Dreamkwami19 added a lot of commented out examples on the character subpages for the Peter Rabbit movie. What's bizarre is that they seem to troping characters from the upcoming 2020 sequel and listing stuff that has not been confirmed yet.
And these aren't little things. These are entries that are either entirely made-up, or had to have come from a leaked source. Here's some examples from Peter Rabbit Film Villains regarding Barnabas, a character who hasn't even had a voice actor confirmed yet:
- Abusive Parents: He is Myles’ father and, considering he used Myles as leverage against Cottontail, it is unlikely he would be earning any father of the year awards any time soon or ever.
- Asshole Victim: He is killed off and no one mourns it.
- Big Bad: He is the true main antagonist of the sequel and one of the, if not THE, most evil and depraved villains in Sony Pictures Animation.
- Complete Monster: If the fact that he is trying to stain the Rabbits’ name is anything to fit the trope to a T then the fact that he had a hand in Peter Rabbit’s father’s death tops the cake.
- Disney Villain Death: He is thrown off the train by Cottontail to his death to which everyone takes in a satisfied manner given his crimes.
- False Friend: He is only using Peter Rabbit to get closer to Cottontail and his own son.
- Knight of Cerebus: He is the most manipulative and evil villain yet and is willing to use his own son as leverage against the Rabbits.
- Manipulative Bastard: He is willing to use the Rabbits and his son for his own selfish benefits.
- The Quisling: Betrayed Peter Rabbit’s father and had him killed by Old Man Mc Gregor.
- Would Hurt a Child: Sends Snarl in his Gregory Rouge disguise to a store loaded with children.
I think their examples should be deleted on principle, but I wanted second thoughts before I do so.

openMaking a Trope Page?
I keep trying to make trope pages for fanworks (fanfics and webcomics) but whenever I go on the blank page it won't let me edit? Help?
Is it safe to recreate Complaining to redirect to Complaining About Shows You Don't Like? I know we have {{Administrivia/Complaining|AboutShowsYouDontLike}} thanks to Text-Formatting Rules, but using a one-word redirect is convenient, plus it's not just TV shows that get complained about on the wiki.
