How about changing the name of the trope page Chop Sockey to something like Movie Kung Fu or something else?
As it stands the page itself is pathetic and I am sure a little offensive so given that this is a film genre that is being ignored and there are more then a few cult classics that would fall underneath it, how would one go about getting this done?

This was promted by the discussion in reply to Elbruno's question about external links, specifically regarding Frequent Redlinks and intentional redlinks for works that don't yet have pages.
Right now Film.Wing Commander is referring to the 1999 movie based on the videogame series, but there's also a WW2 film of the same name (or at least with that as an English translation of the title) produced in 1977
that currently has no page (and is pretty much unheard of on the internet beyond its mere existence, judging from a Google search).
Given that even no-page works should be linked, should things be reworked to give us Film.Wing Commander 1977 [custom titled to Wing Commander (1977)] and Film.Wing Commander 1999 [custom titled to Wing Commander (1999)]?
(And more as a self-note than anything else, Main.Wing Commander could use some editing to account for the 1977 film, depending on the response to my query.)

Now, I'm working on a Works page for The Condemned, and I know Work Pages Are A Free Launch, but I'm thinking to myself if the work summary I've made is okay or if it has some bashing in it...
The Condemned was a 2007 American action film written and directed by Scott Wiper which takes a different look at the repeated plot of people fighting to the death for everyone to see. However, the look may not be as "perfect" as one may see, considering how they have "10 people fight, 9 people die, you get to watch!" on their poster, and yet much of the movie is filled with people complaining on how this isn't right.
I may need some help with the summary and making it seem presentable if it is.

Edit war issue. On TheLoneRanger, there has been an ongoing issue on WTH, Casting Agency? with Depp's casting as Tonto. The claim that Depp has Native American ancestry has been repeatedly added to the trope example, only to be removing on the grounds of 1) it is purely conjecture, as Depp himself said it was a maybe and 2) it's discussion/natter. Troper Eagal is aware of its addition and removal, as I spoke to him/her over pm about it, and Eagal was the one to start the discussion on the discussion page about it. Now, after several weeks of quiet, they have reinserted a comment about the issue, with no edit reason and no conclusion made on the issue on the discussion page. In fact, Eagal dropped out of the discussion some time ago. I can only conclude that they waited this long in the hopes that no one would notice.

On the character sheet for the X-Men movies
, someone changed Deadpool's entry to make it self-demonstrating.
Now... I already hate SD pages, but that's just really, really jarring to suddenly get a page turn SD halfway through for just one entry.

Have a bit of a dispute between myself and Zaptech on the Battle Los Angeles film page. I've made an edit that the Marines' tactics are not quite correct, but Zaptech keeps deleting my edits, in his believe that the tactics are correct. This despite analysis that I've linked.
Not that the tactics are wrong per se, but that they're not wholly applicable to the situation, and run counter to actual US doctrine (essentially using COIN tactics in a defensive engagement).
I've tried to PM him, but he won't respond. Third opinions would be helpful.

Okay, I'm just gonna ask, I've been looking at Film A To M and I came across this... is this a good entry for Wallbangers or does it just come off as complaining?
"Maleficent oh dear god Maleficent, so The self proclaimed "Mistress of All Evil" and who commands all The Power of Hell turns out to not be all that bad and is actually good? And The Fairies are incompetent morons who endanger Aurora instead of being the loving and doteful caretakers? I'm gonna need an Aspirin the size of her Dragon Form to get over this headache. Walt Disney is rolling in his Grave."
I feel like it's the latter.

I tried to make a YMMV part of the movie of the "judge" and moved the bit of Dwight being lawful neutral to the YMMV but it didn't work out the way I was accepting(ei:most YMMV are colored grey and the YMMV sign normally shows up on the page itself) also yeah this is the first time I attempted of making a YMMV page(also making my first movie page.)
Anyway yeah the question could you guys please help me out with making the YMMV page?

So, on May 24th, 2013 user notahandle blanked the page Funny.Invasion Of The Neptune Men. I get WHY it was blanked - the only examples it listed were actually from the Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode devoted to the movie, and not the movie itself. But the thing is, now the page is just sitting there, empty.
What should be done about this? Should I Cut List the page? Leave it? What?

Film.Agent For HARM lists both of the following tropes:
- Bittersweet Ending: Adam manages to prevent the villain from dusting American crops with the poisonous spores, thereby saving millions of lives, but that's about all that goes right. He fails to find an antidote to the spore and fails to protect Stefanik, the only scientist in the world who is even close to developing an antidote. He also fails to notice that Ava is The Mole, despite her being really bad at it. He doesn't even manage to take the villain down properly; the critically wounded Stefanik is the one who kills the villain, getting himself dusted with spores in the process.
- Downer Ending: The Doctor is killed by the spore despite claiming he gave himself the antidote, and Adam makes out with Ava while arresting her of a capital crime. It's hard to feel anything happy at the end, not even a Bittersweet Ending.
Aren't these mutually exclusive? Should one of these be removed?
EDIT: I think the problem is that on a personal level it is totally a downer ending. Sure the good guy wins and saves millions of lives, but A Million Is a Statistic, and in the process the only likeable character in the movie dies and the cute girl is exposed as a villain and arrested. I think what needs to be done is Downer Ending should be removed, and Bittersweet Ending should be altered to reflect how bad the ending really is.

Considering the ban on potholing trope names in example lists, should we make a separate self-demonstrating page for Attack of the The Eye Creatures in order to maintain the "the the" joke?
We have precedent, as Gadsby received a self-demonstrating page for this reason.

Hello tropers and beyond! My name is Micah, I'm new to this website, and as a film enthusiast, I love it. I've noticed that many of my favorite films have been properly troped and then some (Leon the Professional, Mulholland Drive, Donnie Darko, Audition, Memento Mori etc). I however have not found a trope page for the live action Japanese film "Casshern" and would love to see one. This would be for the full uncut 140 minutes version from Japan and not the butchered widely disliked by fans 120 minute version created for the US. I've started accumulating some tropes but it's slow going since I don't know that many yet. That and it's a really complicated film. I'd love some help on it if any of you would like to. If you come up with some tropes to mind, please by all means shoot away! So far I've written down the following tropes. I'll have to review them to make sure I'm not mistaken about them. Obviously there's spoilers, so beware!:
Mind Screw, Bittersweet Ending, Chekhov's Gunman - Casshern the Guardian God never appears onscreen but his miracles (or lightning bolts do) and are what has a domino effect on the plot. The God's character is briefly explained halfway through in a story., Fantastic Racism, Space Whale Aesop, Anyone can Die, Everybody's dead Dave, Kill 'Em All, The End of the World as we Know It, The Aloner (Burai), Misanthrope Supreme (Burai), Big Bad (Burai), Bigger Bad (Dr. Azuma), Anti Villain (Burai), Designated Villain (Although Burai ends up with intentions for genocide, he was originally killed for no reason and once he was resurrected, him and his people again were hunted down for just existing), Immortality Seeker (Dr. Azuma and the Government), Grey and Gray Morality, Black and Gray Morality, Cynicism Catalyst (Burai and his fellow neo sapiens were hunted down to be killed. He then takes it upon himself to murder the entire human race as rightful justice), Famous last words, The hero dies, Kubrick Stare

I apologize for the unusually poor style in the example for Twilight: Los Angeles I left on Keep Circulating the Tapes; right now, I feel screwed over due to not just my DVD recorder refusing to capture it at all but also PowerDirector dropping frames on an attempted recording of the last broadcast for the foreseeable future. Times like these, I really wish my favorite programs would be released on DVD. I also apologize if I'm not making any sense; I feel so angry about the situation, I don't know if I'm even making sense to MYSELF.

On the YMMV page
for God's Not Dead, Sympathetic Sue was removed due to most of the Mary Sue tropes being made Flame Bait. Hailfire 25
re-added it with the edit reason: "Flame Bait as itself is not a credible reason to delete. Anyone can claim anything is Flame Bait" .
open Troper behavior in The Hateful Eight pages Film
I would like to ask how to proceed about the behavior of BebeJumeau on several pages relating to The Hateful Eight, were he or she seem determined to impose the view that the character of Daisy Domergue is a victim completely undeserving of the treatment she receives in the movie. To wit:
1) Asshole Victim entry
On 31st Dec '15 5:48:19 PM wdfan added the Asshole Victim to Daisy’s section of the The Hateful Eight page.
On 26th Feb '16 9:46:57 AM BebeJumeau removed Asshole Victim from Daisy’s section claiming the trope was based on personal opinion.
On 27th Feb '16 11:08:57 AM GKG put the trope back, rightfully pointing out that Asshole Victim is not a YMMV trope so it is perfectly valid to put it in the characters’ page.
On 5th Mar '16 5:42:46 AM BebeJumeau once again removed the trope from the Daisy’s section without explanation.
On 8th Mar '16 7:28:16 PM plcthecd put the trope back, requesting that BebeJumeau stop removing it without explanation.
On 9th Mar '16 11:34:48 AM BebeJumeau once again deleted the trope, claiming that because her death was cruel and her crimes never explained then her death wasn’t justified. You will notice this has nothing to do with the meaning of the trope.
On 9th Mar '16 2:36:17 PM I entered the picture and put the trope back, arguing that as a criminal and member of a and of criminals who is victimized by the other characters Daisy qualifies as Asshole Victim.
On 9th Mar '16 8:18:23 PM BebeJumeau once again deleted the trope claiming that YMMV was being presented as fact.
On 9th Mar '16 9:09:45 PM I put the trope back, with a more detailed explanation for why the character qualifies for it.
On 10th Mar '16 1:10:28 PM BebeJumeau once again removed the trope, arguing that the word asshole itself was “crass” and replacing it with Anti-Villain, a trope that does not fit the character as she displays no “heroic goals, personality traits, and/or virtues” whatsoever.
At this point I decided not to add the trope back so as to avoid getting into an Edit War, but I would like to ask how to proceed about this issue.
2) Fandom Heresy & Fetish Fuel entries
On 19th Feb '16 1:21:26 PM BebeJumeau added the Fandom Heresy trope to the The Hateful Eight page
On 19th Feb '16 10:15:48 PM GKG deleted this trope from the page.
On 20th Feb '16 10:53:40 AM BebeJumeau put it back.
On 10th Mar '16 12:47:09 PM BebeJumeau added the Fetish Fuel trope to the The Hateful Eight page along with a quite extensive explanation about why Daisy’s treatment in the movie was gratuitously exploitative for fetish’s sake, which she constantly expanded on 10th Mar '16 12:52:28 PM, 10th Mar '16 12:54:44 PM, 10th Mar '16 12:56:57 PM
On 10th Mar '16 1:01:08 PM Discar deleted both tropes because: “Fetish Fuel doesn't get examples, and not an example of Fandom Heresy.”
On 10th Mar '16 9:09:04 PM BebeJumeau put back Fandom Heresy and at 9:26:04 PM put back the large text that was previously under Fetish Fuel under the Alternative Character Interpretation entry, without using any spoiler tagging for the spoilers contained in it. Then further expanded the text at 9:31:14 PM.
On 11th Mar '16 2:30:37 AM Discar once again had to delete the Fandom Heresy entry.
3) Demonization
On 9th Mar '16 12:05:30 PM BebeJumeau added the Demonization trope to the main The Hateful Eight while at 12:26:29 PM adding it to Daisy’s section of the The Hateful Eight page.
On 9th Mar '16 2:41:14 PM I removed it from The Hateful Eight page and at 2:49:52 PM from the main The Hateful Eight page, as it is my understanding that this trope only applies when a character or concept is purposely made to look as evil, when in fact they’re not, and there’s not evidence that Daisy is being presented by the movie as more evil than she is.
On 9th Mar '16 8:18:23 PM BebeJumeau added back the entry in the in the The Hateful Eight page claiming that Daisy was “demonised way disproportionally”
On 9th Mar '16 9:01:45 PM I removed it once again with a more detailed explanation as to why.
On 10th Mar '16 11:17:17 AM BebeJumeau added it again to the in the The Hateful Eight page, and at 12:23:38 PM to the main page, arguing that the amount of punishment the character receives compared to the other characters warranted that trope.
I disagree with this interpretation but at this point I decided not to delete it again on either page so as to avoid getting into an Edit War, but I would like to ask how to proceed about this issue.
Overall, I would like to ask the mods how to proceed from this point forward, as I believe that any further attempts on my part to correct the improper use of the tropes in the The Hateful Eight pages will inevitably result in an Edit War, as shown by BebeJumeau’s behavior over the course of several months and involving several tropers, one of them a P5.
Thank you for your time.
Edited by SeptimusHeapopen Is there a trope for anachronically uniformized armies? Film
Almost all movies displaying vast armies have their mooks wearing absolute identical gear, even when the time period or the social structure should not allow standardized mass production (look the Trojan army in Troy for example).
Of course it is perfectly understandable to do so (help the viewer to identify the sides in battle, make the faceless mooks even more indiscernable from each other and naturally reduce production costs) but it is still an artifact. So shouldn't it be a trope in its own right? Anachronism Stew doesn't mention it (I agree it's a pretty minor anachronism, especially when the gear is at least correct in itself for the time period, but it's also extremely common)
That's mainly a concern when the time depicted is pre-modern. Stormtroopers or British redcoats naturally have the level of industrialization required to field their soldiers a standardized uniform, but medieval (including medieval fantasy) or ancient troops shouldn't be able to (it doesn't mean that they must be completely disparate: the Rohirrim in the LOTR trilogy avert the standardized aspect and still look coherent. On the other side the soldiers of Gondor play the uniformized part straight, with even the archers wearing the exact same plate armor as everyone else. Finally Saruman's Uruk would be a justified example since we see them mass produce their gear, and industrialization is a big part of Saruman's characterization in the books).
Edited by scarperesolved Causes of death on Famous Last Words Pages Film
On the Famous Last Words for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems that the cause of death of the person speaking the last words is included with the names of the person. Most other pages don't do that and some of the example come across as rather lengthy and unnecessary. Here's an example Agent Antoine "Trip" Triplett, who smashes the Obelisk to try to stop whatever was happening, but thinks that Skye was fatally petrified and that he made a Senseless Sacrifice. He himself ultimately gets Taken for Granite and shattered before he Skye break free and reawaken as the Inhuman, Quake.. If the page is just meant to show the last words, is all that really necessary?
openRemaking Of The The Eye Creatures: Namespace Film
Since Attack of the The Eye Creatures was purified, I'd like to re-create its original version where it belongs, which means in one of the "fun" namespaces. However, I'm not sure whether it should be in Just for Fun (which was my first hunch) or Self-Demonstrating...

Edit War ongoing on the Serenity page on the use of God-Mode Sue. Myself and another troper are arguing over the content, and I've requested that the other troper take the issue to the talk page instead of engaging in an edit war. The other troper appears to be ignoring this appeal despite the fact that I created a topic on the page in question. I've pulled the entire entry because we keep arguing over it, and requesting moderation to sort this out.
