The page image for Dark Reprise has just been deleted without (as far as I can see) any proper discussion on its removal. The image itself (which was a comparison of Dr Facilier's Villain Song and its reprise from The Princess And The Frog) was cited in the edit reason as being an event that was spoiler-tagged elsewhere, and hence the deletion was justified.
Is this a valid reason for deleting a page image? The image illustrated the trope pretty well.

I just came back from being edit banned for one apparent 'vandalism'. It's fully my fault, but I want to make sure this never happens again. This encompasses many pages in Names To Know In Anime, Voice Actors, Actors, etc.
Well it started with me thinking that Ryusei Nakao's page has headers and footers completely taken straight from Frieza's quotes, no reference to this wiki, or the very person himself, etc. However, if we look at other pages like Toru Ohira, the dub voice of Darth Vader, it refers to this wiki, the actor's role and the related actors. Rather than "Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father", the one used is "Toshiyuki Morikawa never told you how I described your father" (Toshiyuki Morikawa being the dub voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi). I thought it was good.
So I decided to edit Ryusei Nakao, changing the header with what used to be his footer (The quote about him destroying the Saiyan planet), but changed it that it refers to this site... unfortunately I used the words 'Fast Eddie' and 'Moderators' (rather than the seiyuus of Dodoria and Zarbon (the latter being Show Hayami)). That's my first crime.
Then for the footer, I decided to use Mayuri Kurotsuchi's long-winded "The Reason You Suck" Speech and changed it rather than about 'science' but more about tropes. Unfortunately, I got all those long-winded speech into an All Blue Entry. That's... the second and final crime that got me eventually banned.
I've applied for editing again and right now I need to know where the line must be drawn when we're doing (voice) actor references like this. To note, there are also Self-Demonstrating Article in regards of Voice Actors, mostly in anime, for instance, Michael Mc Connohie, Kazuhiko Inoue, Akio Ohtsuka, Rikiya Koyama, Nozomu Sasaki, etc. If such self-demonstrating was not allowed, I should begin a reverting spree to make it not self-demonstrating.
But yeah, please tell me where the line should be drawn about these things. Thank you.

The Prophet Muhammad was "corrected" by nightmares, ostensibly on a self-imposed crusade against Islam.
Edit: There are problems with many of the trope examples on the page, with shoehorning and the general problems of applying tropes to real-life persons. I'm going to move those of dubious validity to the discussion page.

Want to get some input from staff here on something, that I've already opened for discussion in Television Is Trying To Kill Us.
Is it OK to edit examples off of an index that were added in good faith (e.g. not vandalism) and that do have an arguable reason to be on said index, simply to "trim" it or make it shorter? By "arguable reason" I mean, a good enough reason that one or more tropers put them on there, and they are applicable (and not Square Peg Round Trope).
Using an example struck off of Television Is Trying To Kill Us under such a "trim," Smoking Is Glamorous. Yes, people start smoking for reasons other than media, but the arguable reason is that some depictions of smoking in media (including Do Not Do This Cool Thing ones) inspire some to pick up the habit, especially in places outside of America. (And before anyone says *I'm* biased for using the removed smoking tropes as an example, I myself am a smoker so it's not due to some sort of anti-tobacco agenda, lol)
I think such "trimming" is not OK and that the solution to a long index is folderization and removal of natter, but not the tropes themselves if they belong there and there is a proper argument for their being there. Am I right in thinking so?

I am to take it that personal opinion on wiki pages is discouraged, if not prohibited? This question is prompted by the presence of a bullet-point concerning existentialism on the Sora No Woto page, which states as follows:
An overarching theme of the show is how people give meaning to their lives, from religion to sticking up for their True Companions or their country in the face of a neutral, cold universe. The episodes where this is more blatant are episode seven and the last DVD episode (in particular Rio's final voice-over). Filicia Heideman in particular is a textbook case of The Anti-Nihilist.
I saw two problems with the bullet and removed it, with the edit reason that existentialism is more opinion-driven when applied to anime, and as such, would better be suited for a review. I feel the problems can be summarised as 1) it is not a matter of correctness (as everyone is free to interpret an anime as they will), but rather, the imposition of a particular viewpoint in the wiki itself and 2) the work in question is not solidly about existentialism; the events that appear as 'existentialist' elements are open to interpretation.
That's the background: what are the usual guidelines for things like that?

A couple of questions about musician pages.
I know that the policy has been changed that things that happen offstage or that aren't a part of lyrics or promotional videos are no longer allowed on band or musician pages. I'm not trying to challenge that policy, so please don't take this as trying to start a fight over it or chip away at it., but I do have a couple of questions...
1) If something happens offstage has a direct impact on performing, is it allowable to mention? I'll list one clear-cut example and two more gray ones for this.
The first actual example: one of the two primary creative members of a band dies (Munetaka Higuchi of Loudness, for this example). Is it OK to list Author Existence Failure as a trope applying to the band in a case where the dead member was a founding member, lyricist, and played a vital role? Obviously he didn't die onstage or in a performance, but it happened, and made some major changes to performances and more.
As another actual example, at least two bands I can think of have been subject to a Frivolous Lawsuit over their name, and therefore had to change their names slightly (X to X Japan and Versailles to Versailles Philharmonic Quartet. Both suits were definitely that trope. Is it okay, in that case, to list Frivolous Lawsuit as a trope applying to the musicians?
As a hypothetical (and far more gray since it could be seen as libelous) example: a member leaves a band mid-tour due to an arrest or to go to rehab. The tour gets canceled (which is definitely an impact on performance if there ever was one). Would Off the Wagon be all right to include in the page?
2) Are interviews and documented statements allowed? As in, for example, I know that we don't want people calling, say, Justin Bieber a Jerkass, but let's say there's someone who did a published interview and was like "Man, I was really an asshole." Is it allowable in *that* instance to list Jerkass with a link to the person himself saying he was one?
This question's wondering if there's an "In-Universe" equivalent on musicians that would allow for some things about them as people IF they are invoked by the musician himself or herself (and could therefore arguably be seen as part of performance, because in Visual Kei, for example, interviews ARE part of performing)

I've been working on the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise index and moving the hyphenated titles to their non-hyphenated counterparts. I noticed when changing wicks that Tabletopgame.Yu Gi Oh does not display with its custom title (Yu-Gi-Oh!), capitalized G in game or no, on everything other than the page itself. One word namespaces have the custom titles display everywhere (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc). I created the page under the uncapitalized namespace because I had heard of issues with the custom titler.
Is this still an issue with the custom titler system because TabletopGame is a Wiki Word or have I done something wrong?

StupidViews
is adding some really trollish edits to Quantum Vibe. I'm reverting as I can, but they include gems like:
- A Nazi Ny Any Other Name: Meta-example: If you do the research you will quickly find the how close Libertarianism is to Nazism both in ideology and execution.
Libertarians consider everyone poor (i.e. not multi-million) to be Untermenschen, life unworthy of life where it doesn't matter if they die after years of exploitation in sweatshops because if they weren't so dumb and inferior they would be multi-millionaires themselves, right?
Which has absolutely nothing to do with the comic itself.

How about changing the name of the trope page Chop Sockey to something like Movie Kung Fu or something else?
As it stands the page itself is pathetic and I am sure a little offensive so given that this is a film genre that is being ignored and there are more then a few cult classics that would fall underneath it, how would one go about getting this done?

Okay, so I was trying to edit the From Fake Dreams trope page when I noticed that it wanted someone to move the OT3 entry to YMMV. I would've done it myself, but I don't know how to.
Is there a link for me to peruse to ensure that I can edit the pages involved? I mean, I have limited time as of this post to go check right now, and I'd like to be able to fix the page as well as help out with other pages.

This was promted by the discussion in reply to Elbruno's question about external links, specifically regarding Frequent Redlinks and intentional redlinks for works that don't yet have pages.
Right now Film.Wing Commander is referring to the 1999 movie based on the videogame series, but there's also a WW2 film of the same name (or at least with that as an English translation of the title) produced in 1977
that currently has no page (and is pretty much unheard of on the internet beyond its mere existence, judging from a Google search).
Given that even no-page works should be linked, should things be reworked to give us Film.Wing Commander 1977 [custom titled to Wing Commander (1977)] and Film.Wing Commander 1999 [custom titled to Wing Commander (1999)]?
(And more as a self-note than anything else, Main.Wing Commander could use some editing to account for the 1977 film, depending on the response to my query.)

openNo Title Videogame
I'd like a little consensus on a trope I'm trying to add.
The ending for Mass Effect 3 has Shepard essentially doing the work of the Reapers, after telling them to go screw themselves throughout the series. I explained this as Character Derailment on the character page but since it's a YMMV trope it was removed. I see, so I then listed it under the YMMV page but Character Derailment is not to be used, ever. Okay, so I tried listing it under Character Derailment itself and it was again removed.
Am I misusing the trope? Is there something I'm missing here? As I understand it Character Derailment is when a character does something that is really out of character for them. Shepard's actions at the end of the third game seem very much out of character, being established to stop the Reapers.

There seems to be a disagreement between myself and Nerd At Computer about Char Clone. He deleted a paragraph in the description about Char (claiming it was "kind of irrelevant to this trope") and replaced it with one about Racer X. I reverted the changes, under the logic that Racer X (who predates Char), obviously couldn't be a Char Clone. Nerd At Computer responded by putting the changes back in and removing the note to editors that characters predating Char shouldn't be listed on the page.
Rather than start an edit war, I figured it would be better to check with the hivemind about what should be done.

So, a Mistborn video game
was announced today. Considering that the series now consists of a trilogy, a stand-alone sequel taking place centuries later, and a video game, with more novels planned but not yet announced, it seems like a good idea to turn the Main.Mistborn page into a franchise page and split the individual works onto their own pages.
However, that's obviously a major change, and I don't want to make it unilaterally. So where should I bring it up? Here? TRS? Special Efforts? Just go ahead and do it myself?

Is Logic Bomb specifically for when logical paradoxes are used on computers, or can it apply to any logical paradox? Such as, in the case of Faulty Logic, building a time machine to go back in time to prevent yourself from building a time machine because you know you'll build a time machine and misuse it. It's a (hilarious) logical paradox (sort of? it's technically correct... I think?), but no computers are involved.

Requesting that Mein Kampf and The Turner Diaries be inducted into the Permanent Red Link Club.
The page on Mein Kampf only has three examples and a description of the book - it could exist as just a mention on Adolf Hitler and we don't need a page on the work itself.
The Turner Diaries is a little more complex: it is a work of its own but it is a work solely created to preach and encourage racial hatred. While most of the examples are well-written and obviously not encouraging of its content, it could still convince some people that we support it simply by having a page on it.

If I got that right, images are put on the right in order to not mess with the text and make it easier to read. However, can I put the image to the left (and use the bar thing) if the image itself is actually longer than the description?
